i’m new to this side of tumblr so i thought i’d make an introduction post ^_^ i’d love to find fandom friends!! [edited june ‘26]

✩ i watched top gun and immediately knew iceman was a piece of me, just like santos in the pitt

✩ i am a icemav shipper through and through but my guilty pleasure in fics is hangmav. and i’m a diehard hucklerabbot-er

✩ my friend labelled me as an “eddie-kin, buck girl” and a “dr robby variant” so there’s that

✩ not a day goes by without me mentioning top gun to my irls and it drives them crazy

✩ i’m a little scared of twt for literally all my fandoms but i lurk

✩ i’m a major yapper when i have time to post and will make myself cry by thinking of my favourite characters

✩ i am a true believer in icemav/buddie/mcdanno/rabbot parallels and have been for months (since i started watching each thing following top gun)

all in all, i really do just love the silly little gay shows and films and i need somewhere to express it that isn’t that one friend’s dms :D i’ll also use this as a dumping ground for thoughts about shows/films that i’ve become interested in as a consequence of being a fan of these as well ^_^ my other sideblog is much more lowkey and i post a lot of fic updates on there when i am out of my busy periods

Watching 9-1-1 from the beginning now is a strange experience cause at first it's like "yeah I can see why people ship buddie but I know they won't get together" and it's just a nice fun ship, but eventually you reach a point where you genuinely can't believe it's not canon and every scene with them feels like a torture endurance test.

do people read crossover fics?

ive got a crossover wip rn and while i do intend to post it eventually, im not sure if i should be expecting it to be read by anyone

the one i’m currently working on is 9-1-1 x hawaii five-0 x top gun (which is just a mix of my fave interests rn i know) but i feel like there’s such a small and specific audience that would enjoy it

i just wanna know if it’s something general readers would immediately ignore bc it’s a crossover or if there’s people that would give it a shot

mcdanno... there's nothing like one of the actors (scott/danny) replying to what new things/changes he might like to see in the next seasons so it doesn't get stale 'yeah, maybe we have a relationship' and the interviewer's eyes going wide like plates for a split second and asking if he meant the warm and fuzzy kind and he just goes 'yeah' like he didn't just imply yeah steve and danny should be romantic in this 2010 copaganda show with the target demographic of old white men in their 40s/50s, or the other actor (alex/steve) saying that the relationship is the part he liked the most and was one of if not the most important part of the show, or that he basically hated the main ship for steve saying he's an idiot if he's with her, or that an outtake pic from s8 promo shoot came out after the show finished thanks to a dedicaed fan that asked around (the picture has scott and alex in the center, alex looking straight at the camera while holding scott from behind holding one of his hands, scott leaning back against alex with his eyes closed) shows how comfy they were with the idea, the constant touching, not to mention all the baity comments of the writers and the main show account on twitter while the episodes aired - shit like now that's a wedding i'd like to attend, rt if you love mcdanno, he should have bought an engagement ring instead, danny the yin to steve's yang, and THEN going they're such good bros amirite? so bromantic! 🙂🙂🙂 - or god the mcdanno t-shirts

"there is no way they didn’t have even a little romantic projected writing" wait for the couples counseling ep, or the stake out ep, or the couple's retreat ep, or any ep with their gfs who they completely ignore favor of being all over each other, or steve's hallucination ep, or danny's [redacted for spoilers] ep one of my favorites because of what it implies what he really wants. the thing is, they treat it as a joke so much in-universe and so much crazy shit is happening on screen that the audience is like yeah lol lmao so married but very unseriously and with no actual hope of them actually getting together even with all the winks and nudges... once the show writers found out about 'mcdanno' fandom name for romantic ship they fucking started using it as a brothers/bromance only thing Of Course - they even put it on t-shirts in the mf show and sold them like imagine abc making romantic cutesy fanart of buddie putting it on a shirt and have a character showing it off to the boys during an episode and saying 'cool right' and the actors trying not to break character and laugh,,, then put it on their channel online shop for fans to buy

i demand financial compensation for all the shit they put us through 10 years

you deserve so much compensation it’s not even funny. and lowkey so do the actors. they deserved to have their characters have the ending they should have ☹️

the more i learn about the bts of this show the more i find ridiculous i could not have survived being a fan id have gone insane for sure

started watching hawaii 5-0 (in the big 2025 i know) so i could understand danny and steve’s relationship and characters better (have been thinking about writing a seal!buck fic)

lol why is mcdanno worse than buddie like genuinely how did any of the og viewers survive this they’re unbearable. married couple fr, calling each other babe, the way they are so comfortable with each other, their nattering and bickering

like buddie is so iconic but i’m sorry, mcdanno is actually taking over my life why are they like that how did they never become canon there is no way they didn’t have even a little romantic projected writing. and i heard that even the actors were down for canon mcdanno and the show never went for it???
