this is my personal blog & I post any damn thing on here, & I do NOT organize it, so you have been warned.
so funnyyy that the decora ponies got posted about in dec of last year (though it seems many of them were based on online orders anyway) for multiple ppl but they didn't show up in my stores until MAY. toy collecting mutuals if you live in California you have no idea how good you have it (toys just show up there a lot faster with a few exceptions)
I got the decora bat pony. I like her very much, however I do wish the eye paint matched the art a little bit more, the yellow is too close to the blue so you lose the "sparkle" in her eyes/they look flatter than they should.
Gothica is her name (I suspect she shares a name with a corresponding doll, however my local stores never got anyone but Decora and Selene, so I'm not sure. out of the blind packs for minis I also only got Decora lol, so my familiarity is low).
The proportions however are really more like how I wish the modern mlps looked if they were going for Tiny Horse.....although the weight can be pretty finicky depending on where you place her hair because it's heavier than her, that's hardly a new or unique problem for brushable horses (famously, it's how original mlps ended up with metal tail washers to start, and were kept in molds that didn't strictly need them throughout the 80s & 90s).
I also adore the sticker designs, as usual, but I wish we actually got more flat stickers, as they stick to the plastic better than the puffy ones, as cute as those are. (This is also true of both mini and full size decora girl dolls, so it's not a new problem either, and I won't complain too much, since they are a nice addition to my sticker hoard for stationery and crafts).
her price is pretty good, 10$ and NOT being a blind pack is really nice (I probably would've bought more Decora minis if they weren't blind lmao, but I am 24, so maybe kids preferred their gambling).
her quality is comparable or better than most hasbro offerings at the same or higher price point, and the designs for this line feel a lot more creative, they have been bolder with small alterations to the molds like the wings than even current g5, and their hair is actually somewhat pre-styled to match the character art instead of just....left in there to do whatever. I don't even hate g5 mlp, but their character designs aren't particularly unique. The decora ponies are, overall, still very much average "girl toy" fare, but the characters at least have a few standout characteristics & theming further than Just The Butt Mark, like the bat wings & overall color palette. Only one character is pink! Gothica has BLACK in her hair! I swear the last time I saw that from hasbro, toys r us was still in business!
anywho, next time I'm out I'll keep an eye out for other characters. having Decora to hang out with the doll would be cute, I think (as a kid, I would definitely have gone crazy over that- they have a Matching Friend all ready to go! and if a kid already likes equestria girls as a concept, it would be really easy to have "shape shifter" plotlines for the characters this way, too.)
You listen to music regularly? Why? Have you even tried quitting? Could you quit? You get music stuck in your head? Wow. You're so ruined and music brained. I bet you make your partners listen to music with you when you have sex. Music addiction has really ruined a whole generation. You know it's not realistic to expect reverb in real life, right? You're probably so desensitized that you don't even feel anything anymore when you hear a bird singing that it wants some fuck.
I don't have a problem with people listening to music per se, but I do have a problem with the music industry exploiting & mistreating artists.
Personally, I abstain from all music in order to keep my hands clean but really music should just be illegal outright to protect musicians from abuse.

Hello, I want to use my blog here to boost someone in need.
Dile/Benji aka Mayadile and their mother have been homelessness for some time now. They're in need of funds for food, travel, medical care, and hotel stay. Dile just got of the clinic after being very ill and it would be ideal if they were able to be indoors to recover. Currently, at least $700 would be enough to move things to a more favorable state.

Dile is a friend of a friend. They used to post amazing artworks onto tumblr before their current circumstances. You may remember that I've reblogged their fundraising posts including a gofundme before. Unfortunately, if you know anything about homelessness, it's incredibly hard to get out of once you're in it. Its just not something that is resolved with one instance of aid. Its an ongoing campaign.
I know from experience that reach and spread is so important to fundraising. All it takes is getting to the right people. If you don't personally have the means to help (understandable in this current time), you still have the power to help by getting word out.
UPDATE: Dile is currently outside in the rain becoming ill again. He hasn't eaten in 3 days. Still also needs funds for an appointment on June 11 to get back on testosterone.

something that is a weird nitpick is that like, even when you're shopping for plus size clothes online, the close ups will often use a thumbnail of a skinny model in a smaller version of the same thing. like. ok. that gives me net zero information about how it would fit on ME

As infuriating as this is, I do have a solution: somewhere on the page, there should be a size chart with the actual measurements of the garment in inches. Pick whatever your widest measurement is - bust, waist, or hips - and then buy the size that fits that. (Or larger.) You can always size down the rest of the garment, but you can't size it up in the one part it's too tight.
But honestly, if they won't show you the actual plus sized garment - or, worse yet, all the pictures are clearly AI or photoshopped - just don't buy it at all. There's probably a reason they won't show you what it really looks like, so you're probably just going to have to return it anyway.
What kind of style are you looking for, op? Maybe me and the other tumblrinas might have some good links for you
oh, I already have my measurements, it's just that general fit can look different depending on body size (in addition to body shape, but like, I'm not expecting 1:1 matches, just "anything in the remote ballpark to help me visualize would be convenient").
I am, unfortunately, looking for (majority, I know some elastic/ other stretchy materials are used for waistbands and such) cotton briefs. many of the ones I get in sizes that are supposed to fit, according to chart, are still tight or dig in to the point my sensitive skin reacts to the friction by making boils all along the lines like a freaking outline....(Not the same as my rashes or hives, which have happened as reactions to random dyes/fabrics/clothing in general. I have Skin Issues. Due to those same skin issues, boyshorts or boxers are not ideal, as they trap moisture/sweat even in "breathable" fabrics & make a DIFFERENT cluster of boils. I can also assure any reader that, yes, I change frequently & shower appropriately. it is probably a Condition or Multiple Conditions, and has been ongoing for years at this point.)
Everywhere except for dedicated plus size retailers/having their own specific sizing will probably land me somewhere around US 2X or 3X, which most of the cheap name brands stop offering at, or still do not fit well despite re-checking measurements & making sure they did not change. (AND. I do follow wash instructions. I even air-dry pretty much all of my underwear unless it's already in rather poor shape, even if they say they're dryer safe, to ensure they do not shrink or wear down even faster.)
I think I might just live in "will probably be paying 15-20 dollars a pair" world....

I've got rather persnickety skin too - if I ever wear some synthetic that it doesn't like, it is NOT shy about letting me know. Boils and rashes fuckin suck, especially when they occur in a place that makes you walk like a robot. And not even a modern robot; I mean like the old timey kind from a bad sci-fi movie.
Never fun explaining it either.
Most of my favorite pairs of underwear are ones I've made myself. It's often easier to find a good cotton jersey fabric than good panties. And even if you go the slightly spendier route by getting the all organic cotton from your local granola hippies, one yard of the stuff will cost $10 tops, and probably make you 10 or 12 pairs of briefs.
Actually if you don't have much sewing experience or even a machine or anything, this would be a great simple project for you to get started on. You can take one of the pairs you already have that fits you well and just trace them - and if elastic bothers your skin, it's pretty easy to make the waistband by just stretching the cotton a little bit while you sew it on.
And of course you can also add your own little embellishments like bows or skull decals, depending on your taste.

Please don't feel like I'm giving you homework - I don't know your life or manual dexterity, this may or may not be something feasible for you to try - but if this is something that has bothered you for a long time, it might be worth it for you to take a stab at making it yourself.
But I must warn you that learning to sew your own clothes will absolutely destroy any tolerance you have for the fast fashion industry. You'll be totally unable to walk through a clothing store without scoffing and rolling your eyes ever again. You will be literally Temuproof. And, most importantly, you'll have good clothes that will fit you perfectly, without having to use any medieval divination techniques to try and decipher some company's bullshit nonsense size charts.
