I'm thinking about how huge a change that is from how Master Fung's initially extremely hands off with their emotions aside from telling them to be mature and suppress them like a monk should, like Kimiko's anger at being prodded at before
I'm imagining Omi seeing how Master Fung gradually learns to open up and be softer or more emotionally available for all the other monks in a way that he never has and never will with Omi, and in the back of Omi's mind coming to that heavy realization

Itās been a while since Iāve read anything about Janeās character and personality, but from what I remember, she takes a very long time to warm up to her stay at the temple, often wanting to be by herself. I feel Wing would respect her privacy and space, but maybe on one occasion, he silently interacts with her. Brewing some relaxing green tea for her and himself, he brings her a cup as she sits by herself under the gazebo or whatever this structure in the show is called. He doesnāt leave, but sits nearby on the railing. He sips tea with her in silence, taking in the peace and serenity of the Xiaolin monastery. And if Jane at any point wants to talk, Wing is more than happy to listen and reply.

In a single missile strike, we lost over 25 members of our family. They were not just names. They were mothers, daughters, sons, grandparents ā people we shared meals with, laughed with, and built dreams with.
The missile hit our family home ā the heart of everything we knew.

June 12, 2016. Putting a date on this for when it gets reblogged months from now by people who think the post is about something from 30, 40 years ago.
I am a survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting, having grown up in Orlando and just turned 20 a month prior. If you didnāt know, there were several families who refused to claim the bodies of their relatives due to their sexuality. One family even had their relativeās name removed from the memorial. Murdered by the same hate with which their families reject them in both life and death.
Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was Godās punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:
We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldnāt live with the pain.
The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.
At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:

Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.
This year was the sixth anniversary. The first couple years I received dozens of messages checking in on me on 6/12. Year 5 got enough news coverage for people to think to reach out to me. This year it was my therapist, the woman I kissed in that photo, and a couple of other gun violence survivor friends. People are forgetting already.

years ago my siblings and i were taken from my parents due to child abuse/ neglect, and my grandparents were the ones getting us with Child Protective Services. my grandmother went and saw that our laundry baskets were full so she just grabbed that as she wanted to get us out of there ASAP
her logic, all the dirty clothes are things we chose to wore, and cleaning them would take a few hours, but in this moment it takes a minute to just grab them. if we were to try and pack our clothes, it would just extend the amount of time we would be in that toxic situation of crying, yelling, and screaming.
luckily my brother was a stickler for laundry and had gotten each of us our own basket. older siblings, and grandparents are the best
i've remembered that ever since, and every time i've needed to leave in an immediate hurry and didn't have time to pack for whatever reason but would have time to clean the clothes later, laundry basket.
i've told this story for 18 years to people, and i can count on both hands off the top of my head the amount of times someone told me this actually came in handy
i've been told of abusive relationships, emergency evacuation situations, and several other random situations that required the gathering of clothes immediately
i happened to remember this due to having a dream about that incident, and don't recall anyone sharing this tip. it surprisingly saves a lot of time, hassle, and effort if you don't mind working a little later
worst case scenario most people wear a piece of clothing once and stick it in the dirty clothes basket, technically you can get away with wearing something again in an emergency. whatever works
After Sophie Woodstone dies, Sam and Jay inherit the house, happy to discover that its all theirsā¦ until they realize that Sophie Woodstone had eight foster kids that are all about to go back into the system.
Thor Finn is the oldest and seventeen, almost about to age out of the system. He was abandoned by his parents in a foreign country and no one was ever able to identify him or his family, and as a result ended up in the US system. He has some pretty bad anger and abandonment issues, causing him to cling to his foster siblings.
Sassapis is the second oldest, at fifteen, and closest with Thor. Itās unsure how he ended up in foster care, and he keeps information of his life before (and after) close to his chest. Heās pretty cynical and sarcastic but he really enjoys creative writing and drama and keeps a bunch of stories in his notebook.Ā
Isaac is fourteen, and his family kept him in such poor conditions that he actually ended up developing dysentery. Why they did so, no one knows and if Isaac does heās not telling. Heās a huge revolutionary war buff and theatre kid, and hates the Musical Hamilton because he didnāt get cast as the lead during freshman year.
Hetty is also fourteen and was a part of a very wealthy family until her father was caught trying to marry her off to a much older man for some money. She has very conservative beliefs but slowly begins to form her own opinions. She can be cold at first, but is surprisingly warm to her family
Alberta is thirteen and believes that she was kidnapped from her real family who she doesnāt remember. She continually tries to find traces of them or evidence that theyāre still out there, and has ran away several times before to try and find them. Sheās also a theatre kid and a really good singer, with dreams to be a star.
Flower is twelve and was born in a cult and was fully indoctrinated into their beliefs, growing up in a very unsafe space, with extreme views about lack of privacy, hygiene, diet and general life. After the cult was busted for robbing a bank she was placed in the foster care system and separated from her older brother.
Pete is also twelve and is a very good pinecone scout. After an incident with bullying goes too far and heās shot with an arrow, triggering a CPS investigation itās ruled that his father isnāt fit to take care of him. In spite of everything he has an unyielding positive attitude that canāt be stopped and believes that he and his friends will all get adopted one day.
Trevor as the youngest, is eleven years old, and was removed from his last foster home after he accidentally ingested some of his foster fatherās illegal drugs. Heās a little bratty and for the past couple years his only role model was a sleazy finance bro who took him in as a PR stunt, and bought his silence with fancy things.
Jay is hesitant about this, but Sam feels bad because theyāre basically family to her and wants to get to know them. The kids arenāt happy about this and try and cause them a whole lot of trouble to get them to leave them alone. (Sophie was pretty bed-ridden towards the end theyāre used to being able to do their own thing). One of these attempts by Trevor lands Sam in a coma for a week and all the kids pretty shaken up. Jay is upset about this, until Trevor starts crying and then he realizes just how traumatized these kids are and they decide to stay.
