Walk Like No One Is Driving
well the thing is that's an extremely reasonable concern
After years in prison for turning a child into a blueberry
the spirit is unwilling and the flesh it feels not so good also
It feels cool to be "in" on celebrity gossip before anyone else. I ran into Californian Condor V9 and looked her up on the condor lookup website. It says her current mate is dead and she has no kids but I saw her with a new man AND a juvenile.
@bedupolker I hope you don't mind but I made a tabloid cover out of this
I used two more condor photos by Andrew Orr and Alam Clampitt from peregrinefund.org
Gotta use the skills I learned from making tabloids out of the Jane Austen novels somewhere right?
Great, now I feel like I'm bird shaming. Congrats V9 on your new family!
I am so utterly fascinated by “Saki”, the 18-year-running mahjong manga in which you, the reader, become gradually, frog-boilingly aware (over the course of nearly two decades’ worth of mahjong tournaments) that none of these girls are wearing underwear and most of their boobs are slowly expanding.
I need you to understand that I have, like, an anthropological level fascination with this comic. From the perspective of someone who is also a comic artist and writer, two things delight me about it:
the fact that I understand completely how an artist gets from “the fans can have a little hint of skirted asscheek” to “the pussy is completely out on center page” over the course of 18 years; and
the way in which the pussy being out is treated by the characters and diegesis as being utterly unremarkable.
I have so many questions... How does one SUSPECT a manga character isn't wearing underwear? Like, sure, boobs are front and center amd you can see them get bigger panel by panel but how does this work for panties? Are there just that many upskirt shots?
Also how do you keep a manga about Mahjong going for 18 years, what??
Like this, mostly.
The boobs thing is arguably even funnier
I have an important update to this saga:
In chapter 299, the main character unleashes a special attack (???), and immediately after, her boobs DEFLATE BACK DOWN TO A REASONABLE SIZE
And then later in the match, she has to use another special move
And now she's completely flat-chested
In Saki, magical mahjongg power is literally stored in the boobs, which in my opinion is the best possible explanation for all this.

Not one of the most important pieces of evidence against intelligent design, but maybe the one I think about the most frequently, is lead. It's wild that there's a substance that's incredibly easy to obtain even at rudimentary levels of technological development and incredibly easy to work with and incredibly useful for a huge range of purposes and it also poisons and kills you but very slowly! And this is only relevant to humans because other animals can't smelt ore. God's buck wild for this one
Put it glass, it makes it better. Put it on ceramics, it makes them better. Put it in paint, it makes it better. Put it in gasoline, it makes it better. Put it on your roof. Put it in your water pipes so much to where you name the entire concept of "plumbing" after it. But watch out lol
okay??
It is implied through gameplay mechanics that the two kingdoms at war in chess both formally permit regnal polygamy, allowing the King to take at least nine wives of equal status, and that marriage can be bestowed as a military honour, but curiously that honour - in stark contrast to the conventional attitudes of the aristocracy - can only be bestowed upon soldiers of the unlanded class, leaving great questions to be asked of the material interests and stability of these kingdoms' aristocracies
also, their horses lack limbs & their castles are small
yknow the smallness of the castles is FAR from their most interesting distinction from the noticeably immobile ones we are familiar with
they're mobile siege towers, that's normal. let's go back to thinking about pawnfucking, specifically that the convention of reignal polygamy implies all pawns are a warrior maiden caste.
they used to let kids have real fun
There's an xkcd for that :3
Side note: polonium-210 is a very dangerous isotope, however it "does not pose a radiation hazard when kept outside the body", as the alpha particle it emits have very little penetration power and cannot pierce even the outer layers of dead skin. It has still killed countless people, though, not because of children's rings, but because of tobacco. Polonium latches onto and concentrates in tobacco leaves, leading to heavy smokers being exposed to more radiation than survivors of the Chernobyl disaster.
It's always wild to me seeing comments about different toxins like this on information about random things in the past, but it's never discussed when it comes to cigarettes.
feeding her stuffie must live on....
I really really love the threatening aura they gave Qifrey at the end of this episode. Stared so hard he stopped the wholesome background outro music lmaooo
