I underestimated Ranboo's main character powers. Do you have any opinions on the "c!Techno abused c!Tommy" take that's been popping up? Your posts and meta are usually very well done

it feels like it’s a slide too far in the opposite direction of the “technoblade does nothing wrong” crowd that’s built on the foundation of something true technoblade was bad And good for tommy. he provided stability and safety at a time when tommy desperately needed it, but that safety and stability came at the price of tommy’s fundamental morality when it really shouldn’t have. on the one hand you have technoblade deciding on his own that because his way of thinking is Right he can and Should try to change tommy’s beliefs to match with his despite Knowing that it wasn’t what tommy wanted. he’d never planned to uphold his side of the deal (to limit the damage done to l’manberg and to never hurt tubbo) and he actively lied to tommy to obscure this. it ended up hurting tommy in the end because technoblade actually Didn’t know what was best for him, hurting tommy’s friends and isolating from them further only hurt him in return. it wasn’t a healthy mindset. but on the other hand, he recognized that tommy needed guidance, that he needed someone to ground him when he wasn’t sure of what he wanted or what he needed or what he felt. tommy was a deeply traumatized person who, at this point, had never had any time to stop to process that trauma and didn’t have any basis for how to do it on this own. he needed someone to remind him that dream was bad for him, he needed someone to look out for his safety when his conditioning told him that needed to seek dream out (for comfort, for companionship, for safety). he needed someone to tell him that healing takes time and that he isn’t lesser for needing it, to give him a source of safety and stability that he didn’t have on his own. he Needed technoblade’s sureness.

the same traits that make technoblade a source of stability for tommy makes him a source of conflict for him Because of technoblade’s extremism, which makes their relationship unhealthy but not overtly abusive. 

tommy and technoblade’s separation is sad Because below the fundamental difference in morals, beyond technoblade’s violent philosophy and unwillingness for compromise, there was a healthy relationship that tommy very desperately needed. tommy leaving technoblade was a Good thing, but under different circumstances they could’ve been happy together and that makes me unbearably sad jfkalsd
