As someone who's just begun watching X-Files (I'm on season 6 but I need to rewatch as it passed like a fever dream at points), I would like to share my preliminary assessments of each character:
- Dana Scully: my beautiful, gorgeous, incredible wife who is a doctor and has seen and been through so much. A woman who has stood strong despite all the adversity she has been subject to. Despite her convictions and her beliefs being called into question repeatedly, she is strong willed and deeply loyal sometimes to her own detriment. Fiercely protective of her partner and their work together. A brilliant agent, quick as a whip, and just an all around incredible woman. I just want her to be hugged and loved like she deserves and damnit I can give it to her if she'd give me one chance!
- Fox Mulder: a man who endlessly endears me, sometimes annoys me, and usually baffles me all together. One minute he's being soft and sweet— he's discovered a clue and oh boy, we'll have proof yet!— then the next he's being harsh and stern— his beliefs are crumbling before his eyes and he can only blame himself for others getting hurt because of his stubborn, foolhardy thirst for knowledge. He seems deeply invested in the files and while admirable, it seems to the detriment of his care for himself and his relationships. Also my wife Dana's husband.
- Skinner: Tired™️. The man has been through so much with wildcard one and two. But also a man who knows he deep down loves this set of wildcards he is meant to handle. The deck is stacked against him constantly but dammit if he won't play like his life fucking depends on it to keep those two safe.
- Krychek: little weasely bastard of a twink who I want to smack upside the head and punch in the gut
- Smoking Man: self publishing would've saved him. But also... would it have? Brother was fucked up from the jump, I think...
Bonus! Lone Gunmen: The Three Musketeers who were involved in kicking off the French revolution in one way or another back in the day...
