It's my first day and I already relapsed...:( this is a lot harder than I thought it would be
You should try reading the book 'Kick The Drink... Easily' by Jason Vale, it's amazing. Make sure you have support while stopping to drink, whether that's friends, family or online support. Also make a list of things you enjoy to keep you busy as an alternative to drinking. Remember, there are no actual benefits to drinking do why bother. It diminishes your real confidence, wastes money and makes you feel like crap the next day. Always here for a chat xxx
Your blog was on my suggested list and I like following people who are going through similar things to me. I'm getting clean off heroin (and basically any other opiate I could get my hands on when heroin wasn't available) and I just wanted to say hang in there! If you ever happen to need or want someone to talk to there are so many of us out there! you got this!!! <3
Hi, thanks for the message, it's really kind and I will follow you back. I always need support. In drunk now so not great at WiFi things, but thank you x
So fed up of wanting alcohol and not wanting alcohol.
It feels amazing right now, and I have Jason Vale to thank for it!
In my experience you work out why after you've spent a long time away from drugs and alcohol. The brain has to return to its normal state. Alcohol literally keeps you from thinking clearly or completely despite what it tells you. I believe that you will find your answers with a lot of reading and talking to others here on tumblr. That's what happened with me. :) Also obv I don't know you but if you were abused as a kid or went thru other traumatic experiences I have some books to recommend
Hi, thanks for your message, I've just finished reading 'Kick The Drink. . . easily' by Jason Vale and it's really helped me a lot. Have you read it? X
Sadly I have already returned from my yearly holiday abroad. I had a whole week to relax, refocus and make plans for the future, which I feel (for the most part) positive about.
Just before leaving to go on holiday, I stumbled across a book written by Jason Vale about giving up drinking alcohol. I already have two of his juicing books, so was surprised I hadn’t heard of this one. The reviews online were amazing; almost everyone agreed that his book helped them stop drinking alcohol altogether, which seemed too good to be true to me, but I had to try. Wow...
He breaks down the truths of alcohol, which most people already know, however, every chapter reinforces what we already know, while breaking down the conditioning we have all been forced into. It’s hard to explain, but by the end of the book, I am seeing things in a different way to ever before. Why would I want to drink something that can only be bad/not good for me? He makes you see that you aren’t giving up anything, so there’s no need to count the days you’ve been sober... you’re now just... free!
I, however, easily ‘forget’ these things, so tomorrow will be making posters of some quotes from the book, to stick up on my wall!
Please all read this book!! ‘Kick the Drink... Easily!’ by Jason Vale.

P.S My teeth look really weird!
I just wish he felt the same way; to believe I’m the one and only for him and that no-one before was as special. Walt Disney, I love you, but you’ve set me up to fail.
This is so my thought process, which stops me from recovering
Addiction Quote: “We don’t choose to be addicted; what we choose to do is deny our pain.”
Hmm...
Trying to pack for my holiday, but I can only manage to move for a max of 5 minutes before I’m exhausted. I’m totally run down, but luckily just 3 shifts left at work before I get to relax everyday for a week!
I love this (very well written), but what happens if you don’t know what your condition is? As in, I don’t know why I became depressed and started drinking. I believe it’s because of a series of upsetting/difficult events within a few years, but I don’t know how to deal with these now they done and gone. For me, I feel there is no way to deal with the condition not the symptom. Hmmm... food for thought.
Tea, is truely amazing, it’s the one thing I’ll never give up! I’m committed!!
So damn cute
Going on holiday soon!
I plan to drink while on holiday, however will use the week to reflect, grow and plan my sobriety on return to the UK. I don’t have any commitments coming up that would require me to drink/feel like I should be drinking, so that will help. It’ll just be weekends in the house share I live in to get through. I really hope I can stick to it this time. It’s frustrating though as I’ve been doing well while drinking recently, so it makes the need to be sober much less. Hmm...
Dominos fixes everything
