Researchers from U‑M and Rice University analyzed crime incident data from 2017 to 2021 and found that states that legalized sports betting after the 2018 Supreme Court decision in Murphy v. NCAA saw significant increases in assaults, larceny and vehicle theft during and immediately following professional sports games. Crime levels rose the most when betting outcomes defied expectations––for instance, when underdogs won. The research is published in the Journal of Sports Economics.

i gotta admit i almost fear some of you guys' ability to sniff out every single heartbreaking implication of every detail of project hail mary like bloodhounds. i'm ngl i left that movie feeling pure unadulterated joy. the closest i got to feeling sad was when it looked like grace was going to go home instead of staying with rocky and then that didn't even happen, only to log on here and you're all talking about how grace will never get a hug again and how he'll die of old age in less than a tenth of the average eridian lifespan and the quiet horror behind the justification of 'you don't even have a dog' like what the hell man. when i heard that line the only thought in my little cotton candy mind was 'yayyyy now there's NOTHING sad about him never going home no conflicted feelings no regrets :)'

Something that really stood out to me about Will’s characterization in “GOAT” is that the writers made him sensitive. He openly sheds some tears when he’s overcome with joy, and nobody ever insults him for it. I can’t think of a lot of other male animated characters who do this, without having it played for laughs.

I think it’s important to show kids (especially young boys) that you can be tough, brave, and strong, and that having strong emotions doesn’t take those traits away.
