We seldom admit the seductive comfort of hopelessness.
It saves us from ambiguity.
It has an answer for every question:
"There's just no point."
Hope, on the other hand, is messy.
If it might all work out, then we have things to do.
We must weather the possibility of happiness.
thanksgiving is a holiday based on a falsified narrative full of white guilt and the erasure of history so what are some good native organizations to donate to this coming thursday
organizations recommended by @loneghostkidÂ
native american rights fund
heyday berkely roundhouse
news from native california magazine
national indian child welfare association
california indian legal services
the national indigenous womenâs resource center
please also consider looking into funding native/tribal food sovereignty projects if you have food to donate or money to spare. friends, please add more if you know of them and have links to provide:
native american food sovereignty alliance
meskwaki food sovereignty initiative
friends of pine ridge reservation
first nations development institute
you can also buy food/gifts from indigenous sellers or donate to gofundme fundraisers made by indigenous people who need help getting groceries, paying medical bills, or paying rent. do something to help us and our communities.
try water projects too, like the navajo water project: https://www.navajowaterproject.org/
Help DigDeep bring clean, running water to hundreds of American families. Nearly 40% of Navajo don't have a tap or toilet at home. We can fi
a lot of reservations are fucked over on water by illegal oil drilling, pipelines, or other breaches, like in the navajo rezâs case: contaminated by illegal uranium mining.
I would like to put my endorsement to the Sovereign Bodies Institute, home of the database of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. The database is trans-inclusive, the data protocols follow the desires of the families of MMIW, and this holiday season, they are collecting donations to buy gifts for the families, especially the children, of missing and murdered women.Â
Iâd like to add Feeding Nunavut, the cost of living in the isolated north for Inuit is up to and sometimes over 5x the prices the rest of Canada is used to.
whenever i see a girl complaining abt her shitty boyfriend and she says that âguys are just like that!â iâm always so sad, because i know girls that are in happy and healthy romantic relationships with men! having a crappy, horrible boyfriend is not something thatâs inevitable if you like men. if a man isnât fulfilling your needs or if heâs simply just a piece of crap, you donât have to stay in a relationship with him. not to be clichĂ©, but not all men are like that!!! if your man ainât shit, find a better one!!! itâll all be alright, please realise and admit to yourself that you deserve better, and that better is out there!!! you need to put yourself first.
or you can just find a girl instead hadhdjh,,
Iâm bisexual. This post is about men.
The idea that women who donât date women should, what, remain single or just accept the idea that men will treat them poorly isnât a cute gay mood tbh, itâs abuse apologism and deeply misogynistic.
Instruments are so expensive. I should get them for free for being annoying.
âYou just let me take this home, no questions asked, and I wonât play it in your garden at three in the morning, okay? Decline my generous offer, however, and I will make your life a living hell.â
Eight-hundred dollars for a new keytar? No, thank you. I should just be allowed to have it, I think. I donât have to justify myself to you.
Obviously, Iâm partially joking, but like⊠The fact that instruments are so obscenely inaccessible is a big problem for me.
The amount of friends I had in high school who dropped orchestra or band because they couldnât afford to rent their instruments anymore? Gross!
The amount of kids who give up on music because their cheap ass instruments sound like shit and they think itâs a lack of talent? Gross!
Iâm privileged enough to have people in my life with money who have given me accordions and cellos and keytars to dick around on, but like.
You can pry my ukuleles and melodicas and stylophones and venovas and shitty, ancient, duct-taped-together Casios from my cold, dead hands. âOh, theyâre quirky funnyman instruments.â Fuck you. Theyâre cheap, fun, and easy to learn.
A kid learning âAll Starâ on a fuckinâ thumb piano or whatever is still a kid getting into music. If that teenage girl wants to pluck out Twenty-One Pilotâs entire discography on her First Act ukulele from Walmart, thatâs wonderful. I can play the Tetris theme on this $40 childrenâs accordion, and I fully intend to make that everyone elseâs problem.
And youâre an elitist dickbag who under no circumstances cares about music if you think that doesnât rule.

If youâre celebrating Bidenâs win, consider celebrating by donating to a bail fund, planned parenthood, or the Navajo Water project.
Your action to help the marginalized shouldnt end at presidential candidates and voting.
Yep! The work continues!!!
Also, Georgiaâs Senate will be having two runoff races. Itâs very important for Democrats to win those two seats because then the senate will be tied and VP-Elect Kamala Harris would be the tiebreaker. So, if you can, I definitely suggest donating to Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoffâs campaign funds in preparation for the January runoff election.

Yo as we enter into the final hours of the latest countdown to our collective like, doom or whatever, reminder that:
Itâs gonna happen if you refresh the internet or not, so put your phone down and do something else for a while
Keep hydrated
Take your god damn pills
If you canât sleep at least close your eyes in a dark room for a while
Eat. Anything. I personally reccomend vegan freezer burritos but as long as it puts calories into your body eat it.
Stay safe and if you go out to the streets be careful!

Entire Georgia county claims no mail-in ballots.
How does Brian Kemp explain his incompetence? How does he explain suppressing votes from certain counties?
Just in case anyone missed this the last 2 or 3 times I reblogged it.
The date on that stamp clearly says â02 NOV â18âł - November 2, 2018. I doubt they mailed that thing 2 years early. Thereâs no date on the tweet in that screen shot, but with quick Twitter search I found the original tweet, which is in fact from November 9, 2018. A cursory search doesnât turn up anyone by the name âTiff Whitâ on Twitter or Facebook (though itâs entirely possibly they set their preferences so that they couldnât be searched for). I cannot find any public source for the information in the screenshot other than that tweet.
I also canât find any source or reporting that this is happening currently in Chatham County, GA. Saying something isnât happening at this moment in a particular place is not the same as saying it canât happen. But look - disinformation always, ALWAYS does more harm than good. No matter how much you think âWell, they WOULD do this,â it doesnât make it OK or helpful. Thereâs enough actually going on to be angry about. We cannot afford to propagate bullshit.
And while Iâm mad about disinformation, a lot more of yâall desperately need to internalize the fact that there are organized people purposefully creating, spreading, and encouraging disinformation like this to do harm. It usually serves several purposes, but often its underlying purpose is to try to discover, track, and/or discredit anyone who leans even vaguely left. These people know their shit. They know what will make you angry. They know the kinds of things will make you think, âThis is important information and I have to make sure other people know about it NOW.â They know how to make you less likely to fact-check the information or question its apparent source. They know how to screen themselves and encourage bad actors to do their work. They know they are playing the long game and that many of you believe you could never possibly be pieces.
Letâs pretend this specific case was disinformation spread with the intention to harm - how was it likely meant to do so? It will make many people think, âWhatâs the point of trying to vote?â Maybe not the first time a report like this comes across their social media, but after several? Itâs a lot easier to make people think illegal things are happening all over the country, convince them their vote wonât matter because it wonât even get counted, and discourage them from voting in the first place than it is to actually do a lot more illegal things to keep them from voting.
But even if you think Iâm a tinfoil hat nutcase (*cough* COINTELPRO *cough*), please do the bare minimum of really reading what a post says, fact-checking the basics (hey, that date is from two years ago!), and looking for any actual source before slamming the reblog button, for fuckâs sake.
