Why do you even care about trans women? You're not even one of them.
i hate pedophiles because at 9, the man that married my mother solely did so just to get close to me and fail to groom me.Â
i hate pedophiles because when i was 10, my momâs boyfriend was planning to kidnap me, but failed because my uncle slashed the tires the night before
i hate pedophiles because when i was a tween, a grown ass man at the gas station got down on his knee, and proposed to me. i was alone. it was night time. i ran all the way home.
i hate pedophiles because one man showed up at my house when i was a child. he was an ex-convict. he got my address from a letter to my father in prison. when he was released, he came to my house.Â
i hate pedophiles because my cousin was sexually abused. for years, his self esteem has been shot to hell, his grades are dead, he hurts himself and heâs been on suicide watch multiple times. and all this time, his failures have been blamed on just behavioral issues, rather than the trauma that was discovered.Â
i hate pedophiles because my grandpa has always tried to frame my uncle(that saved me) as a pedophile, when heâs actually gay. so fuck your lgbt+ bullshit. youâre not welcome in our community.
i hate pedophiles because they constantly say âyou never know whoâs a pedophileâ, even though itâs not difficult to tell. they say âweâre everywhereâ, as if we donât know that. thank you for making every child paranoid of any adult possibly preying on them. even now, as an adult, im still paranoid of every adult i meet being a pedophile.Â
i hate pedophiles because they think just because you donât actually rape a child, youâre perfectly fine and safe. you completely disregard the mental trauma you can bring just by existing near a child.
i hate pedophiles because ânon-offendingâ is such a loose term. you can work with children, have children, visit schools and parks, surround yourself with children and potentially put them at risk, but thatâs not wrong as long as you donât touch.
i hate pedophiles because i had to bring my neighbor home with me, to wait for her mom to come home, because some fucker pulled up and tried to talk her into getting in his car. she was in 1st grade. broad daylight. almost ran me over making a u-turn to talk to this child. come to find out, his cars been flagged. he does this every summer.
i hate pedophiles because it breaks my heart receiving notices of sex offender moving in to the neighborhood, while living very close to three schools.
i hate pedophiles because every other day, a child in my neighborhood goes missing. guessing by my surroundings, 3 guesses where the children are.
i hate pedophiles because they think they need to be welcomed with open arms and cookies, or else theyâll offend. take responsibility for yourself. youâre an adult. you donât need coddled just so you wonât rape a child. donât put blame on anyone but your own twisted morals.
i hate pedophiles because they donât think drawn/sim child porn, is child porn, and is illegal and immoral to consume. news flash; it is.
i hate pedophiles because they refuse therapy, even though itâs proven to be extremely effective. they donât care about children, they only care about themselves and being exposed as what the world sees them as; disgusting, harmful peodophiles.
i hate pedophiles because pedophiles donât hate pedophiles. you cling desperately to pedophilia being a sexuality(itâs not) and pedophilia not being bad(it is) and spew âpedophile positivityâ that just coddles these people that need help, telling them theyâre âvalidâ and âperfectâ.
i hate pedophiles because they canât even accept what they are. they have to hide behind ~map~ to soften the blow. cowards.Â
i hate pedophiles because they brainwash people into thinking pedophilia is fine uwu, pulling people with pocd in rather than encouraging people to go to therapy and get help for their intrusive thoughts.
i fucking hate pedophiles.
yall realize that kylie jenner literally played a huge role in modernizing blackface, yes? cause of her bum ass, ppl really be overlining/plumping their lips, wearing foundation thatâs far too dark, modifying their bodies and wearing clothes to resemble âfitâ black girlsâŠand the worst part is that yall are convinced that itâs just a specific aesthetic rather than an attempt to imitate blackness on a level iâve only previously seen from minstrel shows
the kardashian klan are also among the first major celebrities iâve seen to be blatant about their fetishization of black men and culture while being virulently antiblack. and again, yall really seem to think thatâs okay. the fact that the kardashians continue to be outrageously popular, that they continue to find their way into my social media feeds, that yall non-blacks insist on laughing about them and going as far as to stan them, shows yall dont give a shit about black people.
i donât care what looks they âserveâ, how much money they make, i donât care if kim made a funny tweet or some shit. the kardashians are too fucking anti-black for yall to be playing around like this lmao.
I really just do not understand the ultra-rich.
Like, the Flint water crisis, right? I just read an estimate that it would take $55 million to bring clean water back to Flint. That sounds like a lot of money until you consider thatâs less than a tenth of a billion dollars. Jeff Bezos is worth $118 billion. For less than .05% of his net worth, Jeff Bezos could bring water back to an entire town. At the most money I have ever had in my bank account, .05% of it could buy me like a burger. And not even a particularly nice one.
And letâs say, yeah, the ultra-rich are soulless monsters devoid of empathy or altruism. For .05% of his net wealth, Jeff Bezos could completely turn his public image around. Instead of being the asshole who exploits his workers, suddenly heâs the unlikely hero who saved an entire town.
Like
How do you have the power to become a hero at practically no personal cost and just
Not?
They donât care. Simple as that. Rich people do not care about the rest of us.
Hence, Elon Musk trying colonize the moon or mars or some shit instead of using his money to improve the lives of actual people living here. He could get so many people out of homelessness with that money but he never will because rich people donât care.
So apparently Scarlett Johanssonâs response to the controversy over her playing a trans character was âTell them that they can be directed to Jeffrey Tambor, Jared Leto, and Felicity Huffmanâs reps for comment.â
Which I mean, wow, okay - fuck you. But also, really? Youâre aligning yourself with them?
Jared Letoâs character in the Dallas Buyerâs Club was a dated offensive stereotype who was called he throughout the movie, Felicity Huffman only got the role in Transamerica because a trans woman who had been cast in the part was fired for not being enough of a draw, and Jeffrey Tambor literally just got fired for sexually harassing two trans woman on set soâŠreally? Thatâs who youâre going with? Thatâs your defense? âTheyâre assholes so why canât I be?â
Free programming for the trans community launches in June, and will be hosted by transgender Sephora cast members.
âSephora knows that it is a comfortable space for the cosmetically inclined, and for the past three years itâs been building up what it means to be that kind of community space through its store programming. In 2016 Sephora launched complimentary in-store classes for those experiencing major life transitions, Classes for Confidence. Up to this point, those classes have focused on workforce re-entry and beauty in the face of cancer, with participation from community organizations around the country. In June 2018, Sephora will launch a series of in-store programming around the country for the trans and nonbinary community, hosted and developed by transgender Sephora cast members. On Tuesday, May 22, the first preview class will be held in New York City.
âThis is the third curriculum weâve rolled out, and we couldnât be more excited. Itâs been two years in the making. Itâs one of the initial programs we wanted to design, but we wanted to make sure we did it right,â says Corrie Conrad, Head of Social Impact and Sustainability at Sephora. Conrad has been spearheading the programming since joining the company a few short years ago. These classes and Sephoraâs entrepreneurial bootcamp fall under her purview. âWe held focus groups and worked with our employees experiencing their own gender journeys to help determine class content, sensitivity training procedures, and to help figure out which stores would make the most sense. The trans and nonbinary community is a beloved part of our community and we want to be allies. Thatâs the point of all our programming: Whether youâre entering the workforce or questioning your gender, thatâs a major life transition. We want to be there for you.â
Besides in-store classes at 150 locations, there will be a series of video tutorials on Sephoraâs various YouTube channels led by Sephoraâs trans Beauty Advisors. Topics will cover color correction, smoothing the skin, and other topics suggested during focus groups with trans members of the community. If youâre an ally hoping to help support the program yourself, thereâs a specific product line you can pick up next purchase that directly funds the programming. The SEPHORA COLLECTION Retractable Brush($24.50, in store and online) and the Sephora Stands FEARLESS lipstick($12.50, in store and online) both directly fund the community programming.

âPeople often assume that because Iâm black, I get some sort of âplus-size passâ where no one body shames me or treats me differently because of my size. If at some point all black girls in the world were given this elusive plus-size pass, I must have been sick that day, because I never received mine. For whatever reason, this bizarre idea is paired with the myth surrounding women of color â you know, the myth that we donât have body image issues. People assume that being confident at any weight or size isnât something we have to work for. Iâve literally had moments where Iâve opened up to non-black friends about my body insecurities, only to have my emotions brushed off. There was even an article in The Washington Post claiming that Black women are happier at a larger size. It took the subject on from a somewhat scientific perspective and came to the same conclusion I hear all the time: Black and Latina women donât have a hard time if theyâre big.
Um. Iâll be blunt. Thatâs simply not true.â -Â CECE OLISA
Church
Iâve lived in 4 states in the past ten years, and Iâve been called a fat bitch in all four. Had a man spit(!!) on me while calling me one. Told by my (heavyset) mother I was âtoo fatâ. Told by my 80+ yo grandmother I would die before her due to my weight and diet. Have been treated terribly by men because I donât live up to a certain standard of thinness/femininity. Literally have had doors slammed on me while the much smaller women in front of me had the doors held open. People think that I am much older than what I am due to my weight.Â
Being black and fat doesnât grant you some sort of fat pass, it only makes the insults and slights that much worse. Yes, woc have a different standard of beauty as compared to more mainstream measures, but there is very small standard of what is considered acceptable -Â âthicknessâ, flat stomach, big ass, big tits, wide hips etc. Donât meet those standards, you are nonexistent and worthless and society will gladly let you know.
This is because of the myth, white people started of black culture accepting bigger women. White peopleâs view of bigger meant anything that didnât exactly, mirror white body beauty standards. The women in the baby got back video were considered âbiggerâ to white society and they had slender gym bodies.
Being around other black women in my social environment, I know that black women are not granted any type of plus size pass. I think the people who conducted these studies did so with a very narrow and obscured view of everything. The harassment bigger black women get on a daily basis is brutal.
Iâve been around black women who were just as obsessed and hard on their bodies as any other woman. Even in high school, I had classmates around me discussing going on diets and obtaining a certain weight and size so they wonât lose their popularity or join popularity. There was an article way back in 2000 that talked about the rise in eating disorders among women of color, thereâs no telling how high it is now because of this waist training, flat tummy tea, thigh gap culture.
Iâve seen fat black girls and women bullied, by strangers and family. Iâm happy people brought up the âfear of fat girlsâ in black families. Weâve all heard our grandmothers, mothers, fathers say âShe done got bigâ or âhow she gone get somebody looking like thatâ Black men are extremely fatphobic towards fat black women. People donât see how black men verbally harass fat black women? Black women do it as well, especially black women who have this obsession with respectability and trying to prove and convey the images of black women, they believe fat black women are a detriment to the image of black women.
Being fat and black offers a different struggle and burden, in a society that hates fat women and black people. So itâs foolish for anyone to assume black women have some sort of plus size pass.
White scientists need to stop spreading this racist lie that Black women do not suffer terribly under the fat phobic social pressures that they claim, in the very next breath, are destroying white womenâs lives.
Protect fat Black women. Always.
This also ties into why eating disorders are only associated with white women. đ Like women of color and in particular black women donât feel pressure to be thin or have the perfect body.
Donald Trump wants Roe v Wade overturned. What would happen in your state?
Roe v. Wade â the landmark Supreme Court case establishing access to abortion as a constitutional right â has been settled law for over 40 years, yet remains under constant attack. With President Donald Trump in office, we face potentially the greatest threat to reproductive rights in more than a generation. The Center for Reproductive Rights updated our 2007 report, What If Roe Fell?, in order to answer the question on everyoneâs mind on the 45th anniversary of Roe: what will happen if Roe were toppled in your state, the day after?

Honestly read this especially if you in the South
Since yâall donât click links you see all that red, no protection without Roe v Wade NONE
Popping this short story into here because reasons
Iâve been thinking about that story since yesterday.
Okay, but Iâm being 1,000% serious now. Survivors and victims donât give a fuck if their abuser changed. They really donât care. It does not change what the abuser did. No matter what you think, survivors and victims are still allowed to hate their abusers, whether or not the abuser has âchangedâ. Even if the abuser has mental illnesses.Â

First Kate Spade, now Anthony Bourdain. Iâm deeply saddened. Suicide is a chilling reminder of how fragile mental health can be. Check on your friends and love ones, you never really know when someoneâs breaking. đđ
I love having a therapist who is also a millennial because we communicate so fucking well like today she called something âso metaâ like folks if youâre considering going to therapy I highly recommend the training clinic at your nearest university because those grad students have been the best therapist Iâve ever had and they always have a sliding pay scale and I literally pay nothing because I make less than 10,000 a year and get fantastic mental health care
#seeing a grad student is a great idea#because 1) theyâre actually current and up to date on research and theyâre gonna be all about EBP and give you the best most current treatme#and 2)#their caseload is fraction of any therapistâs in the real word so all of their focus is on YOU and they care about you so much!!!#ok not all of their focus is on you because a lot of their focus is also on being in school but all their CLINICAL focus is on you#youâre one of their first clients ever! they want to do their best!!#and 3) (I was gonna do two but I thought of a third)#theyâre being supervised and scrutinized and held accountable#and yes this is coming from a speech language pathology grad student not a counseling grad student#but it is a kind of therapy#and I know the same thing applies to other clinical programs (@boxofpigeons)
I am intrigued. Filing this away for later.
As a millennial grad student therapist, I wish more people knew that free or low-cost, up-to-date treatment from closely supervised, highly motivated individuals may be readily available to them. If youâre looking for a training clinic, this website is a good place to start, but also googling â[your city] psychology training clinicâ or âpsychology training clinic near meâ works. Any university with graduate programs in clinical or counseling psychology should have an associated clinic, often separate from their on-campus health/counseling centers (which are another good, typically free resource for anyone enrolled there). Â
Itâs important to note that student therapists will usually leave after a year or so to continue their training at other sites, which can be difficult for individuals looking for long-term treatment. But if youâre in need of something shorter-term (which most of the empirically supported treatments for problems with mood, anxiety, phobias, and substance use are designed to be), or if you just want someone to talk to during a difficult time, your local training clinic might be just the thing! Â Â
If youâre in the Bay area and you can manage it, check out CHAC in Mountain View. Itâs a community health center that provides therapy services, one on one with training or skilled therapists based on what you can afford and are comfortable with, and subject based group therapy, for adults and children alike. Theyâre familiar and comfortable with LGBT+ individuals and theyâre all really. REALLY. Nice
Hereâs the national suicide prevention hotline: tel:1-800-273-8255 .
Just wanna remind my fellow mentally ill peers to be mindful with what you can mentally handle when reading the news. đ·đđș
Wonder how fast we could crowdfund it.
Didnât they arrest him?
oh man. he deadâŠÂ
His name is Edward Crawford.
For real tho. He was hands down murdered by the police. A lot of notable figures from Ferguson were found dead in the same manner and police labeled them all suicides which ,as we all know, is complete and utter bullshit.
If we could get statues of anyone it really is Edward Crawford. If I can get in contact with a sculptor or some shit with permission from Crawfordâs family I will set up the Fund Page in a heart beat.
Omg he died!?!
Like they said, Edward died in a suspicious manner similar to several other notable protestors officially ruled a suicide and hereâs some links:
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ferguson-protester-edward-crawford-subject-iconic-photo-found-dead-n755401 http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/05/us/ferguson-iconic-photo-death-trnd/index.html
The podcast Criminal did a really great interview with him right before his death in which he talked about his harassment by the police http://thisiscriminal.com/episode-32-it-looked-like-fire-12-11-2015/
Oh my god thatâs heartbreaking, I donât think I even heard about his death. Or if I did it was drowned out by all the other murders by the police. God this is heartbreaking. That photo of him made me cry when I first saw it, it was so moving. Rest In Power, Edward Crawford.

wouldnât it be cool if sylvia rivera or marsha p. johnson were still alive and you could see what kind of activism they were doing now, and support it, and follow them on social media?
âIt sure would!â
Gosh, imaginary reader, I agree! And you know what?
MISS MAJOR IS *ALSO* A TRANS WOMAN OF COLOR WHO WAS AT STONEWALL, AND SHEâS STILL ALIVE AND AMAZING AND I ALMOST NEVER SEE ANYBODY MENTION HER
And yes, thatâs her Instagram, @missmajor1. And yes, you can look her up on Facebook under Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, and she even follows back đź
Looks like sheâs even on Twitter, @immissmajor.
From missmajor.net:
âMiss Major is a veteran of the Stonewall Rebellion and a survivor of Attica State Prison, a former sex worker, an elder, and a community leader and human rights activist.
Miss Majorâs personal story and activism for transgender civil rights intersects LGBT struggles for justice and equality from the 1960s to today. At the center of her activism is her fierce advocacy for her girls, trans women of color who have survived police brutality and incarceration in menâs jails and prisons.
Miss Major is formerly the long-time executive director of the San Francisco-based Transgender Gender-Variant Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP), which advocates for trans women of color in and outside of prison. She is also the subject of a new documentary feature film currently showing around the country, MAJOR!â
She even has a GoFundMe, where people make one-time or recurring monthly donations to support this activist legend through her retirement:
https://www.gofundme.com/MsMajorRetirement
Since June and Pride commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, I thought itâd be a good time to boost her story. Happy Pride! đđđ
Boost boost.
