Back in middle school, my friends and I used a very simple coded language for writing secret messages. I saw some posts about needing to hide one’s beliefs from partners/bosses/parents so I wanted to share it with you! These would also be great to incorporate into sigils since they are simple lines and dots.
This is pretty great.
To the person who put this together, BLESS YOU
This is quite possibly the best and most complete 5e D&D reference set ever. The concise info design on this is amazing!

I think it’s worth mentioning that these are oil paintings, not photoshopped pictures. This guy is amazing, check him out.Â
OIL PAINTINGS.
REBLOG BECAUSE THIS ART IS AMAZING, I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS IF THIS IS FOR OUR PODCAST, JESUS.
Hey everyone. I’m opening commissions now since I gotta help with some of the bills (school and dental lol), so If you’re interested hit me up @ [email protected]Â
Commission my friend! He’s really goooooood
Severely tempted to commission Silva...
Story time
My party: a rogue who’s background is more of an investigator then a fighter (me), a ranger who used to be a city diplomat turned forest hermit, a cleric who used to be the priest of Pelor for a village, and a barbarian who couldn’t read.
We were inside the Academy of Brindol researching the Brethren and looking for clues in relation to murders and deaths happening around town. I had just persuaded the librarian to let us stay late to do more research which we were still having trouble.
Me: “Can we grab one of the students to help us in our research” DM: “sure roll me a gather information check” Everyone but the barbarian fails. Barbarian: *Gets Nat 20 and finds the nearest student and yells* READ TO ME!
If she wants a fairy, she can have a fairy...
I got bored after work so I started building characters for my family members. I made a pretty cool Half-orc Ranger for my mum and a Dragonborn Barbarian for my dad. Then I asked my older sister (26) what she wanted.
Sis: “Can I be a fairy?”
Me: “Uuh… the closest thing to that would be an elf, or maybe a gnome?”
Sis: “Okay cool a gnome will do… and I want to be bright pink and turquoise.”
Me: “Alright, gnome wizard it is. What will your name be?”
Sis: “Hmm… Sqiddley McFannagan”
Me: *stunned silence* “Could you… spell that for me?”
This makes me happy.
MAKE FAIRIES A THING.
“I feel like you’re making this all up.”
My player to me, the DM.
i like the little smiley face on it

Hello friends! How y’all doing? I don’t normally do this, but I seriously need money, so… May I present to you my Etsy store, GBShieldCrafts!
As you can probably see, I make DM screens, dice trays and dice/mini boxes of wood! Here are some photos for all you lovely folk!
The full set! (Those are mine. Thing is, I started doing this cause I wanted them but didn’t have the money to buy) They are super duper, and the group I DM lost their minds when I fist presented the set. ALSO THEY ARE LIGHT AND WORK PERFECTLY!
Here’s one of the screen being used. As you can see, you can easily pin things to the inside of it, as it was made for that!
Here’s a close up of the box. I love this clasp, cause I have a ton of dice, even metal dice inside that and it doesn’t open with the weight. Also. The dragon.
Here’s the tray. Pardon the Critical Role logo hehe. It’s the same wood as the box, and could handle burned images on the sides.Â
And best of all: ALL THE PIECES CAN BE CUSTOMIZED. YES. YOU CAN CHOOSE THE COLOR OF THE FABRIC. YOU CAN GIVE ME YOUR OWN DESINGS TO BE BURNED IN THE WOOD. YOU CAN GET BADASS SET FOR YOUR RPG.
So, guys, please take a look at the store! And please reblog this? Thanks guys!
THESE LOOK AMAZING.

Ideas for non-combat encounters/events
For when you want some variety for your tabletop RPG.  These events will also give your players a chance to use character skills they don’t often have opportunities for.
Natural Disaster - Have the town the PCs are in catch on fire and see what they do!  Do they cut their losses and run?  Do they heroically try to save trapped townspeople?  What do they do about the aftermath?  Natural disasters are an interesting challenge because there can be lots of danger and drama without necessarily having a villain.  It may also get your PCs to use skills they don’t commonly have a chance to.  You could also try floods, earthquakes, raging storms while at sea, etc.
Powerful Fortress - Put one of your party’s goals in a location where they won’t be able to prevail through combat alone (Example: a fortress where they are vastly outnumbered).  Your players will have to rely on either stealth or guile (or both) to accomplish their goal.  The pacing of such events can be frustrating to some players, but few sessions are as rewarding as a creatively executed heist or infiltration.
Dangerous Crossing - Give them a dangerous physical obstacle to overcome. Â A canyon, or a raging river, or quicksand or an old battleground littered with traps and mines.
Festival - Have the PCs encounter a festival or tournament! Â With lots of contests! This could be a good opportunity for them to build their fame and fortune (especially if you allow gambling). Â Some of my favorite sessions have involved festivals.
Entertainment - Put the PCs in a situation where they have to entertain someone. Â What do they come up with?
Letter - Have one of the PCs receive a letter, either from an NPC they’ve dealt with before or from someone involved with their backstory.  This is a good way to make the consequences of their actions seem more real.  You can also use it to introduce new plotlines/sidequests.
Crafting Challenge - Put the PCs in a situation where they need to craft something in order to accomplish their goal. Â Maybe they need to make something in order to fix a mechanism? Â Or in order to satisfy some local gift-giving custom? Â Or they need a forgery? Â Maybe as part of an exchange for something else they need?
Lost and Found - Have your PCs discover someone or something that is clearly lost. Â Maybe they find an infant in the wilderness. Â Or a key with a strange inscription, or some kind of talisman. Â Throw in a clue or two to present your players with a tantalizing mystery. Â
Inhospitable Wilderness - Have the PCs go somewhere it’s an effort just to survive.  A barren desert, a treacherous swamp with poison gasses, a forest so dense the ground never sees the sun, or even the bottom of the ocean.  Test their endurance and survival skills!
Dinner Party - Have the PCs be summoned to a formal event!  Test them on the battlegrounds of social grace and etiquette!  Even better if it’s in a dangerous environment or an alien culture.
Thief - Have something important stolen from the PCs. Â See how they handle it.
Needle in a Haystack - Give the PCs something very difficult to find. Â Like a single specific housecat in a sprawling metropolis, or a legendary weapon of which there are many fakes/copies. Â
Really, if you need any more inspiration, look at your player’s character sheets and see if they’ve invested any points in a skill they haven’t gotten to use much.  Then invent a challenge they could feasibly use that skill for.  If you can’t think of a situation that could be helped by an Appraise, Craft: Calligraphy or Handle Animal check, you need to practice your own creative problem solving skills!
have you ever SEEN a more bountiful searchÂ
I will occasionally throw cat photos in here. No shame.
Historically, there are major four groups that have commonly been described as “adventurers”:
a. Pirates and bandits who realised that the real money lay in getting people to pay them to go pillage someone else;
b. Members of the idle rich who wandered about robbing tombs and subjugating the locals for fun rather than for profit, often distinguishable from the first group only by the presence of a “Sir” before their names;
c. People who just wanted to look at birds, but it sort of got out of hand; and
d. Lesbians.
Now, I’m not saying that this taxonomy would make a reasonable basis for a class system in a tabletop roleplaying game, but I’m not not saying it either.
D&D but your only class choices are Pirate, The Idle Rich, Birdwatcher, and Lesbian.
@probablybadrpgideas
I pick Pirate!
