When you debate a person about something that affects them more than it affects you, remember that it will take a much greater emotional toll on them than on you. For you it may feel like an academic exercise. For them, it feels like revealing their pain only to have you dismiss their experience and sometimes their humanity.
The fact that you might remain more calm under these circumstances is a consequence of your privilege, not increased objectivity on your part. Stay humble.
At the end of the day, aside from the endless plot holes and nonsensical narrative that is literally canon non-compliant with s1 and s2, this ending does not and will not work for me on many personal levels, including this one:
I am the wrong person to talk to when it comes to erasure and replacements and how shiny new unblemished things are a clean slate and therefore better. My apartment is filled to the brim with old things. I am helplessly attached to that which is broken and battered and resistant in spite of the trials they’ve been put through. I treasure every chip and crack that marks the antique porcelain and vintage ceramic I rescue from flea markets and I adore the crumbling gilt gesso frames I pluck from the trash. I am not put off by mirrors that have begun to lose their silvering and I still think leather bound books are a treasure even as their spines splinter and unravel under the pressure of a long life. I honor the craftsmanship that cannot be replicated today and that has been forgotten or shoved to the side as unnecessary and frivolous. I save things at my job every day, works on paper in such bad condition after being exposed to the elements and that which is life that they’re financially meaningless but mean everything to those who love them in spite of their damage.
Restoration and healing is a worthy pursuit and is never hopeless. Sentiment should not be punished. Memory should be honored. What we go through cannot be erased, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to heal and keep living. It doesn’t mean it’s not always worth it to try. I will always choose kintsugi over a factory replacement.

Continued FAQ below:
How much does shipping cost?
For US residents, bundles will cost a flat fee of $13. They will ship via media mail through USPS.
For anyone outside of the US, shipping has been estimated through the cheapest carrier, most likely MEEST or EMS Parcel Post. Unfortunately, I cannot control the cost of shipping, and I know that it is extraordinarily high. The bundles will weigh anywhere between 4-6+ lbs, which is expensive to ship.
Wait, I'm from the US. Why am I paying more for Media Mail?
While Media Mail typically would cost $8-9, the increased price is to offset international orders, whose shipping will cost anywhere from $45-70 with the discount. I hope you understand. I want to make this as accessible as I can without personally eating any costs. I am not making any profit off of this project.
When do orders ship?
Once pre-orders close on 6/30, I will order the books. There is typically a 2-4 week turn around for them to be printed and delivered to me. I then have to package and ship everything from my house. I will also be out of town in August for 10 days to attend TIC7, but I hope to have all orders shipped by September 1st.
US mail should take 2-8 days. International orders can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks, so please be patient.
What percent of proceeds are going to RAINN?
100%! This excludes the cost of printing and shipping. For reference, the first print run cost $1,254 for the books alone, not including shipping and packaging supplies. Anything remaining goes directly to charity. I am not keeping any costs for labor or making any profit on this.
Shipping will take 6-8 weeks after preorders close on 6/30. I will need to submit the order and wait for it to be delivered to my house before preparing shipping. Depending on the quantity of orders, it will take me a while to ship everything out!
*INTERNATIONAL ORDERS OUTSIDE OF THE US:* Orders will be shipped through EMS or Meest for the most cost-effective shipping. Shipping will take additional 2-4 weeks. If you would prefer to ship through USPS or UPS, please contact me directly at ni.scribes [!at] gmail.com. This may increase the cost of shipping by $20-30. Etsy handles calculating VAT. You will also be responsible for any additional tariffs upon arrival.
*Group Orders* If you are interested in connecting with others in your area to do a group order, please contact me BEFORE you orders so I can help find others who are interested. This can help with the cost of shipping. Email me at ni.scribes [!at] gmail.com
*TIC7* If you plan to be at The Ineffable Con this year, I may also be able to deliver the books to you in-person! Let me know, and I will create a separate listing for you that factors out shipping.

I never want to hear that jews having policemen and security guards at shuls is "white supremacy" ever again. The reason the shooting didn't excalate was because Baruch hashem there was a security guard there who did their job.
i know this situation is different, but recently when i hear people claiming its "unfair" or "victim complex" for jews to have security guards at our community spaces, shuls, even fucking elementary and preschools it reminds me of the two custodians at Columbia University who filed a complaint about the uhhh... situation there. they were labelled "jew-lovers", were physically and verbally assaulted and harassed, trapped in buildings by protestors, and ended up with physical injuries, literal PTSD and trauma for... doing their job. the job in question? cleaning swastikas and other antisemitic graffiti on a near daily basis. neither of these men are Jewish. one of them is Latino, and said he felt intimidated by the racism as well. the columbia protestors said they were "working for the jews".
i bring this up because its clear that jewish life is so devalued that even the people who DARE protect us, even if its literally their JOB, will also be treated with horrific antisemitism. these janitors and the security guards who are injured (and even killed) in the FREQUENT attacks on synagogues and other Jewish institutions are not treated as people. antisemites think these people are being "controlled" by The Jews. they think that, in order to protect Jewish people and places, they must not be doing it of their own accords.
and to the usage of "white supremacy" here: when has it ever once been necessary for white christian people to have ARMED GUARDS at their churches? their schools? when has the "oppressor" group been the one that is attacked at least once a day? its so disturbing to say this. you would not say this to any other ethnic or religious or racial minority. but the truth is that we get attacked disproportionately to other minority groups if you take into account the fact we make up less than 0.2% of the worlds population. security guards for Jewish people and places is not "white supremacy" its a necessary step to prevent us from being murdered. an actual example of "white supremacy" is when a neo-nazi firebombs a synagogue. which has happened more than once. in the past year.
sorry for rambling on this post i just have a lot of anger about this subject.
If I think too hard about Gemara and about the pain of trying to reconstruct and record oral traditions and locations and records in the face of genocide and exile I won't stop crying
