My thoughts on the recent DickKory vs. DickBabs poll by DC Comics themselves.

But now dc decided to make an official one and guess what, dickbabs still lost.
After seeing the poll results, I honestly don’t think the Nightwing fandom is split in half anymore. If it were really split, Barbara would’ve gotten atleast 40% ??? That would’ve made it look balanced. But 17%? That’s a pretty big gap.
So this feels more like a silent majority vs. a loud minority.
High polls like this just prove Dickbabs is not an iconic beloved relationship like DC wants to portray them. The Majority never asked for it except a small vocal minority and a persistent Bat-editorial.
I'm sorry but it’s actually ironic. DC and the Bat-editorial spent years putting too much effort into pushing these two. They’ve made more comic panels and variant covers for them in the last five years than for A-list couples like Superman and Lois Lane. They’ve shoehorned Barbara into Nightwing’s solo every single issue and story arc. They’ve forced their relationship into more than 10 recent Elseworlds stories even when it doesn’t make sense for the plot and in the end, their greediness didn’t get paid off. Nobody gives AF about DickBabs.
Not everyone who reads the comics likes them either. A lot of fans never wanted to read about them but they have no choice but to flip through pages of corny Dickbabs panels just so they can continue reading the main plot.
Dickbabs irrelevancy doesn't only reflect in high polls.
If you compare the two ships on Google Trends, you will see more people have searched for Nightwing and Starfire on the internet than for him and Barbara.
Last year more people cosplayed as DickKory for Halloween and only less than 10 people went out as DickBabs.
Just this year, there were more Dickkory fan arts for Valentine’s Day than Dickbabs.
Even Dickkory fan-groups on social media have way more members.
Literally nobody asked for DickBabs except a loud, vocal, in-denial minority who still think they’re superior.
What fans want is diversity and interracial shipping. They want Dick to fall in love with the alien space princess who was a slave and immigrant not another typical glorifed white woman you always see everywhere in the media but DC refuses to give them what they want because they're biased and racist and xenophobic asf.
