The Pax Silica initaitive is a joint plan involving the participants such as the UK, US, Israel, the EU to secure rare earth minerals for the silicon supply chain. This plan will involve opening up huge swaths of the island of Luzon to mining and special economic zones, displacing farming communities and threatening the food and water security of thousands.

To be clear, this is NOT a data center, this is rare earth metal extraction and manufacturing, particularly silicon. I'd actually argue that's worse because a single data center can cause a lot of harm but it can be shut down. Meanwhile, rare earth extraction could cause lasting damage including pollution of water, air and land, and habitat destruction.

OMG a neighbour kid, perhaps 13, has a cat she walks on a leash, and she has apparently recently acquired a skateboard she is beginning to learn to ride. She just skated awkwardly past my window—I cannot overstress that she is clearly very very new at this, she's not good yet but she's learning—with her cat happily lying across the back of her shoulders. The cat was in her usual harness and the kid was holding the leash, but there was nothing keeping that cat from hopping down to the ground. No, kitty was just like, "This is what we're doing with our outside time today, human? Ok, I gotchu 😸" and omg I wish I had the skills to draw a picture of this and share it with you but I don't The kid was wearing a pink helmet that matched the cat's pink harness and leash! I cannot even!

Mentally processing Timeline of Fates ep 8: Part 4 (Final)

Alright time to finish the long analysis! This episode was so much, and I loved every moment of it. And if episode 8 continues the same momentum this can genuinely be the best pair of episodes Cookie Run Kingdom has to offer. 

So this last bit would be a bit of miscellaneous analysis focusing more on individual bits and moments from the episodes but mostly focused on Gingerbrave, Strawberry cookie, Wizard Cookie and Madeleine cookie. 

So let's wrap this up! (Part 3)

Despite being Lily, Nilla and the Headmaster's episode the gang got really nice bits of characterization and moments in this episode. It feels like an improvement from Beast Yeast episode 7-8 which, while they were important, felt kinda out of place 

(I saw a take that Black Raisin and Strawberry crepe should've been in that episode instead of the brave gang and honestly I somwhat agree)

Madeleine really does help here, he bonds with everyone else really well despite not being close with them. He's really keeping the group on task and his attempts to keep everyone together despite the uneasy feelings in the air. 

Madeline is a character I consider more comedic, but he works really well in a more serious tone, especially when he has others to bounce off of. 

Like he's really trying his best 

And this comment was interesting because it seems a little apathetic considering Pure Vanilla is right there and spiraling. But he's right, Pure Vanilla hasn't had the luxury to grieve but the world depends on him to keep things afloat. And it's clear that Madeline still cares and empathises with him, but he's being the realist in this situation.

It's funny how Expresso cookie is on a silly goofy vacation mission with Strawberry crepe,  While Madeline is here with the protagonists going through emotional turmoil. Oh I love this marriage. 

Wizards genuine excitement over the Headmaster only to realize how used up he was as a researcher. (I too would love to spend time here just to get a better understanding of the headmaster's thought process)

And the Strawberry cookie comforting Pure Vanilla here was so sweet. We got another scene in episode 3 where the group was comforting her and it's nice to see it come around but directed at Nilla this time.

And there's no doubt about it, the arc will not conclude until these five learn more about the Witches, especially Pure Vanilla cookie for that will be the only way to truly understand White Lily cookie and Shadow Milk, and since all the conflict in this entire story is about the Witches (cough cough pastry order) learning the truth about them is crucial for any form of resolution. 

Like the Brave Gang were fantastic this episode, spitting straight facts about White Lily and Shadow Milk’s situation. These children better understand the concept of nuance than the children that make up this fan base… and some adults probably too. 

They were doing their best to treasure Pure Vanilla and snap him out of his savior complex to know that none of this is his fault. 

Their relationship with him is so underrated. I feel like the fandom only brings it up to slander him by critiquing him, putting the kids in danger. But these kids would follow him to the ends of the earth even if he said no. 

Pure Vanilla has only come as far as he has because of these kids. From saving the Raisin Village, to the Vanilla Kingdom, to the council of Heroes, to Beast Yeast and now towards the first oven. They literally give him the courage (bravery) to keep going despite his constant grief and anguish. 

Which is why I still appreciate their inclusion I'm Beast Yeast episode 7 and 8 despite my few problems with it. Pure Vanilla and the kids are such a crucial friendship in this story. 

Which makes him choosing to go to Tartarus in the end without them hurt even more. He doesn't want to put them in danger, but he's putting himself in even more danger by going alone. Like I said, Pure Vanilla has been becoming more like White Lily cookie throughout Act 2 and this is the most White Lily style bullshit to do. 

On other news through the references to Golden Cheese and Burning Spice made this episode even fucking better. 

I'm so excited to see her story in September, I've been anticipating it since the beginning of Act 1. And that Lily Flower in the concept art got me very intrigued (As a Golden Lily enjoyer) 

Burning Spice my guy!!! Getting some much needed attention as well. Oh I love the idea of Herald of Change happily helping  Fount with his litter science project (Which likely ended the same way that student Lily cookie did :( ) and Flour of Volition too! My second favorite Beasts are getting some crumbs :D ! 

Shifting again, But I couldn't decide If I wanted to put this in White Lily for the Headmaster's part of the analysis so I'm putting it here: 

It's so interesting how Shadow Milk and White Lily directly feed into each other's worst moments and characteristics. This relationship between these two is a mutually beneficial loop of darkness that pushes each other closer to their Goals. 

I want to make two posts going on about Pure Vanilla and Shadow Milk’s relationships with Dark Enchantress respectively, but here I'll “briefly” go over this wacky timeline of events: 

The first headmaster questions the purpose of creation then White Lily reads his research and learns to question as well 

She goes to the Faire kingdom to find answers and seals the tree up once before the beast are released prematurely (Stopping Shadow Milk)

She goes to the witches banquet to answer this question and up corrupting into Dark Enchantress 

Dark Enchantress wants to bake the ultimate cookie due to her resentment for the Witches so she goes to Beast Yeast for her experiments. 

Shadow Milk gets released by dark Enchantress undoing her seal, back to cause chaos due to his shared resentment 

Shadow Milk helps dark Enchantress gather life powder for the Ultimate Cookie (without any personal benefit aside curiosity)

Dark Enchantress makes him and the other Beasts new bodies with plans to use them as ingredients for the Ult cookie 

Using witches magic she conceives Shadow Milk to fight in war for her, both planning to betray each other afterwards

Dark Enchantress beasts Shadow to the punch and reveals Salt's secret and uses him as an ingredient 

Shadow Milk escapes Silent Salts judgement and sees Dark Enchantress witch form and gets irreversible mental damage. 

Dark Enchantress makes the ultimate, oven and cookie but fails to the power of friendship, but opens a rift to gain more power

Shadow Milk in a last effort to survive takes a piece of the ultimate cookie which does irreversible mental, emotional and physical damage to him and eventually every one else 

Dark Enchantress dies to the other fragments of herself, liberating the world from her despair.

Shadow milk escapes into Dark Enchantress's rift to create a new timeline. 

He later uses Dark Enchantress's ultimate oven to open the rift to bring in the corrupted legendaries into the world 

these are two very strange mf (Although tyis makes Sage the most Strange because he likely stoped/had restraint in his search)

 This exchange here is so good 

They both share this mentality of choosing the dangers and pain of knowing over the security of not. They lack the restraint and ability to stop, which Dark Enchantress even at her own face refuses to stop and accept White Lily, because everything against her is an obstacle, and everything with her must be sacrificed for her goals. 

Makes me think that Shadow Milk will be pushed to having absolutely nothing left in the end, unable to stop himself as well. 

Moving on to GingerBrave, I'm glad that we have gotten confirmation about what is actually happening to him. GingerBrave basically died in the ultimate oven but managed to come back in one piece, with a bit of the ultimate dough left on him. 

So this explanation makes a lot of sense and it's great the the group come to this conclusion that this condition is becoming serious. 

I saw some GingerBrave fans get really pissed at the story BY 15 and onward, which confuses me because this has been the best to be a GingerBrave fan. 

GingerBrave is finally being treated like an actual character with internal conflict rather than just flat character for others to use for development. The story is actually taking trauma seriously and keeping his relationships with his friends and role in the entire narrative. He's not just “he he, goofy guy with insane plot armor” he's a kid who's been put through the ringer and struggling with identity and capabilities. 

This final seane is fantastic for Nilla's character but also GingerBrave who is forced to not be able to go with him. Both of them are so sacrificial and strongly want to protect the other and it's sad to see them in conflict like this.  

Every time GingerBrave goes to this academy he's been put through emotional turmoil, goodness! 

This family is like a friendship between Grandpa Vanilla, and the grand kids; GingerBrave, Strawberry and Wizard plus Uncle Madeleine just man. I really love the first oven team/subplot of this arc. 

OK and that's it for episode 7, and honestly I don't have any critiques for this. This episode was as long as it needed to be, and brought back that Beast Yeast quality storytelling and length. Yet I honestly believe this ep better than most Beast Yeast episodes. It stays totally and thematically consistent from beginning to end and every character and scene was necessary. 

Now to talk a bit about myself, this episode has been one I've been anticipating for a while. Not not just the contents of it but to have an Act 2 episode that's undeniably great and fandom isn't pitching about.  

The livestream gave me a lot of hope for Kingdom’s story, even though I have always had hope honestly. To see the devs acknowledge the criticism and set out to correct their mistakes is very exciting. 

I'd love to make a post to kinda defend the first four episodes of Timeline of Fates though. I don't actually think writing quality has changed or dipped dramatically after Beast Yeast, but more so the narrative choices were not really working with the format of story Telling that Cookie Run Kingdom uses. But I'm still going to be critiquing those episodes for where I actually believe things went wrong. 

Because this episode has completely enhanced my perspective on Pure Vanilla, White Lily and Shadow Milk has characters. I think I'm going to put off the AU stuff until episode 8 comes out (and I've processed that madness) plus the second part of the ramble about White Lily's love for Pure Vanilla because episode 8 will give us much much material for that (although I might change my mind so I can update/compare to post ep 8 content) both of my AUs are post/mud act 2 so They will likely change to fit according with the Canon story. No major changes but some tweaks to my liking. 

I have so many drafts of stories for both of them, but the time art takes to make it painful. I'm only ⅓ pages for my ShadowSalt comic and that tooke me like 5-7 hours (and I'm not even that happy with it). I've had other fanart I've been planning to make for months and I'm going to finish these plans before I actually continue my stories. So the next week would be mostly Big Art pieces and random analysis. 

The past few days, it's been awesome to be a crk fan. So I'm going to keep this interest going and stay tuned while you can :D !

This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.

This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).

Combine this with the mass of people inclined to believe (and being encouraged to believe) that if AI says and does something it must be correct

It's also ableist. In the story I'm working on, there's a character with one eye, and the grammar check constantly tries to correct my sentences to her having two eyes.

Same with a character who's an amputee. Grammar check insists that he has two hands. He's gotta have two hands. Every sentence in which I refer to him using his hand and I use 'hand' singular and not 'hands' plural? Wrong. Correct that shit.

Fuck off. My characters have been injured, they are disabled, and they don't need to be fixed on any level, least of all grammatically.
