Obi-Wan: We donβt want any trouble.
Anakin: I do.
A lot of people are genuinely terrified about what will happen if Donald Trump wins reelection and it's really weird how some of y'all are acting like everyone begging you to vote for Biden is some privileged, rich, out of touch, neo-liberal when a lot of them are just vulnerable people who don't want to like...die in a brutal civil war or watch all their remaining rights get stripped away by an increasingly authoritarian Republican Party.
I do not know how to express to you how much worse it can get.
NonAmerican perspective here, but like....... do some of you really not see how bad it already is? Look back at 2016 and picture what you thought Trump's America would look like, four years into the future.
Did the 2020 that you predicted back in 2016 look like 197 thousand Americans dead of a virus that your leader deliberately downplayed the severity of for months? Did it look like your entire eastern coast in flames, the air across half the country unbreathable, the skies a hazy orange from the smoke and the glow of the fires, and your president saying "climate change has nothing to do with this"? Did it look like over two thousand missing children, who were taken from their parents by "the authorities" and then lost by those same authorities? Two thousand children in the care of a government agency have gone missing, and has your bossman even commented on it, or has he just continued extolling the dangers of immigrants?
Did the 2020 you imagined look like months of civil unrest, because police murdered yet another black man, and instead of condemning the act, your leader said "the answer to this problem is worse police violence, and to beat the protestors into submission."
Like, fuck me. Do you not see how bad it already is? This is what's happened under Trump in four years, and some of you are really out there going "hm yeah but Biden has weak policies tho." Would Biden take a global pandemic seriously? I suspect he would. Would Biden be open to working to stop climate change? He's already said loads about what he'll do to combat climate change. Would Biden completely fail to address the fact that women are being forcibly sterilised in ICE and children are being assaulted and going missing? I would be really surprised if he did nothing about that. Would Biden react to public outrage over cops murdering a civilian by sending in the national guard to attack peaceful protesters, assault journalists, permanently blind innocent civilians, and pepperspray children in the face? I really doubt it.
But Trump has done all that shit; is still actively doing all that shit, right at this very fucking moment. And some of you won't vote for Biden because you're not really a fan of his????
"Oh, Biden's too moderate for me" BIDEN IS TOO MODERATE, SO YOULL GO WITH DONALD "THERES NO VIRUS," "ITS BECAUSE THEY DIDNT MANAGE THE FORESTS WELL ENOUGH," "IMMIGRANTS ARE CRIMINALS," "SEND IN THE TROOPS" TRUMP INSTEAD?? You wanna let that guy win by default, to get another four fucking years, when he's already done this much damage?? WHAT THE FUCK, GUYS
Peter Joseph on structural violence, from this video.
Brilliant
Spot on. Like Coretta Scott King said,Β I must remind you that starving a child is violence. Neglecting school children is violence. Punishing a mother and her family is violence. Discrimination against a working man is violence. Ghetto housing is violence. Ignoring medical need is violence. Contempt for poverty is violence.
The sign of high quality is the fact the book was banned by the government. Trash literature NEVER EVER had any troubles with the law.
FARENHEIT 451 IS ON THE BANNED BOOKS LIST??? ITβS LITERALLY ABOUT THE SOCIETAL DANGERS OF BANNING/OUTLAWING/BURNING BOOKS ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
Thatβs the reason itβs on the bloody list.
BECAUSE ITβS ABOUT HOW BANNING AND BURNING BOOKS IS WRONG.

This post goes harder than any post has ever gone before.
That last one though, gets me every time!
how can ppl say cats are heartless tbh
I once stayed at a game reserve in South Africa, and they had three cheetahs β two males and one female. The boys stuck together (they were brothers), but female cheetahs are solitary, save for when they are raising cubs. Which is hard work for cheetahs, because they donβt/canβt den, sheβs working constantly to protect/move her cubs, as well as feeding both them and herself.
Now, these cheetahs ARE in a private reserve, but theyβre still essentially wild. But they are more or less accustomed to the presence of people. And this cheetah, Ketswiri, got very badly injured in her leg one time, which usually would be fatal to a cheetah. The staff at the reserve helped her. Another time, she was starving, and they provided her a fresh antelope carcass. And she remembered this, because the science officer was telling us how one time he was watching Ketswiri and her cubs, and she wandered over and dumped all her cubs at his feet, and walked off. Like βwatch my kids, I need some me time.β And he was panicking like COME BACK I CANβT BABYSIT YOUR KIDS WTF
And this, children, is how cats literally domesticated themselves.
Do it for your foremothers that never got the chance.
Translation: America canβt celebrate 100 years of female suffrage until 2065
