The intended game subject matter aside, I figured it was worth posting. I think I'm late to the party in that regard, but I've been playing Skyrim again and stuff like this comes on the brain.
Relevantly, I feel compelled to write something in the Elder Scrolls theatre but find myself feeling (more than usual) like I should ask why? It's a more loaded question than I care to mention at half one in the morning, admittedly, but abbreviated I have to wonder if I'm writing to please myself, or to do that 'and' please an audience. The latter combination rings better.
Even that on its own has me considering just how much I should invest in writing. I know I'd much rather write professionally than do anything related to chemistry, I'm just not fooling myself about future job security etc.
Ah well. If I end up spontaneously posting Elder Scrolls fiction up here, now you know why.
Also, World of Warcraft totally needs Gnome Paladins.
I think this might almost be redundant in terms of me reblogging, but, you know.
blizz plz
I know I don’t play your game anymore. But honest to god, I would probably turn my decently-high-level paladin into Riana anyway. 100% worth.
I still think Nori would be a prime candidate for re-rolling as hunter if we ever get them.
That too. That too.
Cats
There are so many cats on my Tumblr dashboard. So many.
A pox on you Nhaneh, every time I look at this blasted thing I want a cat even more.

So I’ve been poking my head back into World of Warcraft lately, off and on - mainly because of missing both Gnomes and my fellow Nubs, and it has been a… curious… experience.
On one hand, I won’t deny having fun at times; with the sped up levelling and the fact that the game is typically only...
Brave soul.
I keep my forays into World of Warcraft to pretty short visits to see who's still there, do a bit of arps while a month's sub ticks over in the holiday seasons. Which is a real shame, because I'd rather like to be able to actually roleplay with Norry's new wife, but on the other hand - SWTOR is what I play right now and even then I barely do any of that.
One thing I found with WoW's levelling is that it's designed very neatly to turn me into a complete drone. I'll go on for three zones and about half of the time I won't even notice I've levelled. It has its benefits, since SWTOR's levelling actually murders me and its does not... Still. My last foray into ER roleplay was Kalimdor Undone and, most unfortunately, a bit of bad organisation on my part slowed the goblinesque plans I had down to the point that I never really got into it.
Back down my blog somewhere is a record of a trip to AD, as well, which was a terrifying experience I had no intention of repeating unless I get to wander around with the noodle salesman again.
I guess I don't have the best luck with returning to WoW. Roleplaying was always what I was there for more than the PvP and it seems to be... Well. I won't say dead - but it is a far cry from what it used to be. At least I nearly always had Mouse to keep my company.
Witty Comeback/Return Title
What's this? Activity?
Maybe.
For some reason I can never write reliably over holiday periods. Constant uninterrupted access to games may be responsible, but now surely that I'm back to 9am lectures all the time I'll always be too tired?
We will see, I suppose. Chemistry: Level 2. BEGIN
Book Activity
"But how can I be sure that you don’t tell the selfsame thing to other men as well?"
"Within a few minutes, the chaos at the well was over"
"We would discount the fact for relevance if, for example, the previous violence was remote in time from the murder, or if it was of a distinctly different nature than the murder."
"A few days later, his mother left the house wearing only a cream-colored nightgown and jumped from a bridge."
"This in itself was evidence of the fact that there was still more to be discovered about my grandfather’s activities and the occurrences in the house, though I did not immediately realize this."
"Making books fly around her room like birds, calculating how far they can travel before she must adjust her technique."
"But the police overlooked the crossword puzzle. It would not surprise me if they over looked something else in here"
"French swears invoke pigs; Romanian, pigweed. In Iran, a"
"Then she goes up one night and finds the Teddy bear and the ink and the French Grammar all lying in the grate."
"In particular, Wonders and Michalowski (2001:548) have noted an expansion of sex tourism - North-South and North-North - which both fosters and is fostered by the ‘global commodification’ of (primarily male) ‘desire’ and (primarily women’s) ‘bodies’ and ‘exotic others’ as new ‘markets’ in the global economy."
When they were done, the group of men looked down with amazement on their thoroughly remarkable discovery.
Rushing out into the snow, he had flung his arms aloft and commenced a series of leaps directly upward in the air, the while shouting his determination to reach some 'big, big cabin with brightness in the roof and walls and floor, and the louder queer music far away'.
Yep.
Just... Yep.
While I'm Here
Actually. While I'm here.
I'll leave this here just so people might know what's coming - at present, I'm spending a lot of time on SWTOR. As it happens, though, most of my writing in recent times is going to be in theForgotten Realmssetting, visa vi.Dungeons and Dragons.I'm of the impression going from MMOs back to tabletop (so to speak, although we'll be doing it over skype) is a rather odd way to do it, but who cares.
Relevant fact: Neverwinter beta. Download it and try it. It's free and it might surprise.
Or it might not. But what's the harm in trying?
I have a Tumblr?!
This place is looking dusty... Cobwebby. I think studying chemistry and having very distracting people on Skype/in games has a way of making me forget things that I update rarely.
I might be able to fix up those letters from the front if they're lying around anywhere, can finish posting those up. Maybe some of my more recent stuff will go here too. Who knows.
My mind is a fickle, fickle thing.
Letters from the Front: Better Late than Never
[ Hope you enjoy reading these as they come, there's a few stashed in reserve if you do. Contextual information: After proposing on the last day of shore leave, classically bad timing, to affirmative response, Noriam boards the GSNV Surface Tension (a submarine) for operation at sea. To stay in touch with his betrothed, he writes letters which he dispatches every month whenever the submarine comes into port. He mans a reconnaissance aircraft uniquely outfitted and small for the (large) submarine. ]
Well, I haven't been here for a while now have I?
Started Uni, so that might just happen a lot.
On the other hand, I'm having a wonderful exchange of letters between my World of Warcraft main Noriam and his beloved fiancée via. email, which I might pop up on Tumblr as filler material - I know most people who check here were likely attracted by Mass Effect related things, so.... Yeah, apologies in advance for that, I can't even play ME on the laptop I'm using right now.

Didn't much deliver on my promise of goodies, did I?
Well, hopefully I'll find time in the next week or so - as I won't have any internet. Don't explode while I'm gone, mm? That would just be unpleasant to come back to.
And I'm sure you don't want to explode.
Do you?

Gender politics and The Internet meets BIC For Her Amber Medium Ballpoint Pen (Box of 12) - Black. I can't be the only person who thinks these reviewers are hilarious.
Well, with all of that out of the way.
I'll probably see if I can't get some Mass Effect 3 done, and even if I can't I'm sure that I will manage to write something. Still have gnome shenanigans to write as well, but I'm bowled over with SWTOR business.
Starting up a guild onThe Progenitoras soon as I can, writing an ongoing series for my trooper and my consular and of course I'm just generally prowling onSWTORfor roleplay.

Norrywham's Third Impressions: Day Seven
IC
There’s nothing for it. I was down by the docks staring out to sea, and pondered if Dad might not have decided to go abroad without saying anything. It didn’t make much sense since all of his stuff was still at the house, but I asked around anyway. Funnily enough, a few dock workers said they saw ‘someone like that’ boarding a ship to Kalimdor.
Given the choice between chasing a ghost and staying in Stormwind, I’ll chase the ghost all the way to the nether. Don’t get me wrong, it was kind of heart-wrenching to say goodbye to Woodsong and Levi, but it was necessary.
I also left a wax cylinder recording of “It’s a long way to Ashenvale” with Levi, tweaked the lyrics a bit, classic. I’d like to think I’m a decent singer, too.
Farewell, Stormwind.
OOC
I’m not really going to miss Stormwind, although the few good eggs out there were good for me.
I’m glad it’s over, all the same, because frankly I may as well have had a headbutting contest with a brick wall and I would have gotten the same results.
There’s not much for me to say that I didn’t say last post. It’s not that there’s no fun to be had on World of Warcraft at all, it’s that there’s not enough fun to justify a subscription fee. And if anyone thinks that Mists of Pandaria is going to change that – the last three expansions didn’t do it, why would this one?
Don’t even get me started on what adding a plague of cute Chinese pandas is going to do to the roleplay scene.
