I love that doctor who actors range from ‘doesn’t even know basic facts about the series’ to ‘looms truther’
For those curious it’s Sylvester McCoy
(This is from the into to I, Who)
put your hands up !
[ID: 18 gifs of the second doctor from Doctor Who surrendering by sticking his hands up, often comically high. From serials The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Dominators, The Mind Robber, The Invasion, The Seeds of Death, The War Games, The Three Doctors and The Two Doctors.]
Romana II -> The Horns of Nimon
Favorite Characters 115/∞: Liz Shaw (Doctor Who)
Well, at least you’ve narrowed it down to forty possible drugs. Have you considered the addition of A-thirty-seven in the presence of Z-nineteen might well be effective?
i sometimes like to give myself a laugh by just reading peris tardis wiki page
this is absolutely hysterical to me i’d have an easier time believing peri is from the south than anywhere in new england
also how are you gonna be from baltimore and almost drown
Jamie McCrimmon -> The Space Pirates
ace !! :3
A doodle of the Second Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe!
genres of doctor who episode:
futuristic domed utopia standing in the middle of nowhere on the surface of a planet
grimy space station
daleks
modern-day britain gets attacked. no one mentions the previous 7164327432747 attacks
cybermen
funny stupid campy holiday special
tragic emotional holiday special
Tourism Gone Wrong™
orange spacesuit
uh oh problematic future technology
historical (entertaining)
historical (eh)
the one weird experimental one in the middle of every season
oh shit this is actually really fucked up
pain
may i add some (especially for classic who):
bubble wrap alien
a cliffhanger so bad that i laugh out loud
running around the nice estate of a suspicious and wealthy member of high society, probably causing problems on purpose, only to be the victims of extremely weird attempted homicide
this episode made me a communist
quarry
big hole, probably also in a quarry or conveniently deserted countryside
because the writing team either 1) didn’t do any research, or 2) didn’t give a shit, this episode irreparably breaks “"canon”“
Five Uses A Gun
the fourth doctor looks at someone like he wants to eat them
but seriously what the fuck is this, tom
you’re so fucking scary, tom ❤
aliens that are just cat furries
Some more that come to mind:
historical that’s really stretching the definition
historical that has aged really badly
casting choice that has aged really badly
attempt at political/social allegory that has aged really badly
attempt at political/social allegory that hilariously misses the point
(space) racism
(space) sexism
(space) classism
weird cult
planet of the suspiciously absent female population
spaceship crash
court drama
questionable sound design
possibly unintentionally the gayest shit you’ve ever seen on tv
Some 70s companions as the Onion headlines because they are mad funny
two in a nutshell
we need the Platonic Ideal for each incarnation
You know what helps someone not take Doctor Who seriously?
Remembering we nicknamed a Master 'Crispy'.
First spin This Wheel to get a companion(ish person), then spin This Wheel to get a Doctor. Feel free to spin until you get someone you're familiar with. Now.
Do they fit together?
traveled together in canon and yes
traveled together in canon and no
they would be fantastic together
they'd be fine. good. ok.
unsure. could go either way.
don't think it would be that good
bad. very bad. not good.
nuanced nuance
Feel free to interpret "fit together" however you want. Would they like each other? Would they be entertaining to watch? Could mean either or both. Whatever you decide.
I got Tegan and the Fifteenth Doctor. It very much depends. If he met her instead of the Fifth Doctor then he'd definitely get her back to Heathrow and everything would be fine. If he meets her in present day, then it could be a bit interesting.
Peri and the Seventh Doctor. I picked unsure, because that could go well, it could go really badly, and also she doesn't blow stuff up.
Three and River... he's got the drama and sass to match her, but they might just annoy each other. Also can't decide if River getting in the middle of all the Threegado drama would be hilarious or frustrating.
ahaha Graham and Sixie might actually work, in that sometimes two people who find each other extremely annoying make an effective team. They might develop a grudging respect for one another.
Although they would probably get off on the wrong foot with Graham saying, “This clown calls himself a doctor,” and/or referring to the TARDIS as “The Clown Bus.”
Sylvester McCoy in Glasgow, Scotland, July 2026
I’m gonna miss them
Wait I have a new, worse idea for reviving Doctor Who: We make it seem like it's a back-to-square-one reboot where it's just the First Doctor. Then at the end of the season, we reveal he's actually another Meta-crisis Doctor spawned from the tooth he lost in The Gunfighters. We can alienate newer viewers who don't know what's going on and piss off long-time fans at the same time! Nothing to it!
