This Has To Be The Greatest Idea Ever
âBisexuals in het relatonships shouldnât be at prideâ is literally the same as parents accepting their bisexual kids âas long as they only date the opposite sexâ it boils down to âwe accept you as long as ignore your true identity and act like youre just like usâ this is not acceptance it is biphobia
Thought of the day (while reading a âgender marketingâ translation with painfully outdated views): I am really, really sick of us only talking about âgenderâ when women are involved.
A surprising number of important realizations could be made if we develop the habit of talking about gender dynamics even â perhaps especially â in the context of all-male or mostly-male groups.
How does it affect productivity, public image, collaboration, negotiating, client acquisition, etc. to have any group of people involved be entirely men? What effects does this drastic gender imbalance cause in its environment?
LETâS TALK ABOUT GENDER AND MEN, PEOPLE. Gender is not an exclusively female domain.
Me, interviewing the director of basically any film ever: âSo letâs talk about the extreme gender imbalance in the casting of this film. What was the thinking behind that? Was there a particular statement you were trying to make, a satirical observation on the politics of society, perhaps? That kind of came out of left field, when we watched the film and all the parts but one were men. Can you tell us a little about the background of that?â
Director: âUm⊠I didnât actually consciously think that much abouââ Me, interrupting: âCome now, donât be modest! That was a fascinating artistic decision! The drastic disparity between the number of men and the number of women in the film makes it clear to even the most casual viewer that gender is a central theme in this story. Can we delve into that a little bit further?â Director: ââŠâ
This would be a fun tack to take in regard to race, too.
âI noticed something very interesting about your film, which is that every single one of the leading roles is played by a white actor. Clearly thereâs some conceptual message you want to communicate with this creative choice. Could you talk about that?â Director: *sweats nervously*
Iâm in.
Avery Jackson, whose sweetly touching video about what itâs like to be a trans girl, is the groundbreaking cover of this monthâs National Geographic
Several trans, non-binary, bigender, and androgynous people posed for another cover, which will be on newsstands on December 27. The issue will also be published online on Monday, December 19. Perhaps the best part is the life-affirming quote from Avery that the magazine put on its cover with her portrait.

shout to the mentally ill people who have unattractive symptoms like a need to fight with other people, obsessing over others, having low self awareness, being easily addicted, being unable to take criticism and being hypersexual. Your suffering is still valid and youâre still loved. Youâre still worth worth something.
Lmao this American girl walked up to a Hungry Jacks (Burger King) register with her drink and really, really loudly (I was at the other side of the place) proclaimed: âI asked for Lemonade, you gave me Spriteâ in a really bitchy, entitled voice.
The cashier (and everyone within earshot) just looked at her like âthe fuck is wrong with youâ
In Australia, Sprite IS lemonade as far as weâre concerned.
Enjoy your 90c refund you cheap ass ho.
âSprite IS lemonade as far as weâre concernedâ
@fleamont can you verify?
Yeah this is correct. Lemonade is sprite. Clear fizzy liquid type thing. Solo is closer to what American lemonade is but we donât actually have what you guys consider lemonade anyway so she was never going to get what she wanted lmao.
Y'ALL AINâT GOT LEMONADE?!?!??
madnessâŠ
âwe donât actually have what you guys consider lemonadeâ
That entire continent exists on a different realm of existence
What the⊠Lmao
Why is it called lemonade then? đ€
@casualswfan What is wrong with you guys?
IT IS THE SAME DAMN THING. You Yankees and your fifty brands of the same :P
LEMONADE AND SPRITE ARE NOTHING ALIKE
Things heating up in the drink fandom
Iâm pretty sure the same is true in the UK at least was in 2010 except Sprite didnât seem to be a common brand so Iâd ask for Sprite get blank looks eventually figured out to ask for lemonadeÂ
Sprite is a recognised brand here, but itâs not omnipresent, it is also considered a brand of lemonade.
This is fucked up.
Sprite: lemon-lime soda (pop/carbonated beverage). Lemonade: lemons, water, and sugar. Still.
LEMONADE IS NOT CARBONATED WHATT HEFUCC CK ARE YOU ALL DOIGN
Living? Sensibly?
Also on what planet does Sprite have lime in it.
Sprite, the lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage, is made on Earth.
Earth is the third planet from the Sun, the densest planet in the Solar System, the largest of the Solar Systemâs four terrestrial planets, and the only astronomical object known to harbor Sprite.
The people of Earth are known as âEarthlingsâ or âSpriteloidsâ interchangeably (although not to each other).
At least in the UK, if you order lemonade youâll sometimes get Sprite, but if itâs proper itâs a lemon soda akin to the Italian gassosa - less sweet than Sprite.
Oh shit, Iâve had gassosa, itâs AMAZING.
I just want to say that the whole âlemonade and Sprite are interchangeableâ is pretty common throughout Asia as well, in my experience
@bre-e-e-e what madness is this?!?!?!?!
@kingkilling-and-stormlight so⊠what you are all saying is. Lemonade is ⊠not fizzy⊠in America?
You guys have orange juice at least, right? Grapefruit juice? In the US, Lemonade is a juice, like orange juice, but made with lemons instead of oranges. You can buy âfresh squeezed lemonadeâ at many restaurants and fast food venues. Typically itâs diluted a bit with sugar water, so the sour flavor of the raw lemon juice isnât so overpowering.Â
In the south, itâs very common for people buy whole lemons and make their own lemonade at home using a citrus juicer.
In Germany, youâd ask for âLimonadeâ and yeah, you may get a Sprite or a Fanta; itâll always be a fizzy nonalcoholic drink and usually come in lemon, lime, orange flavor. Only in healthfood or hipster establishments would it ever be an actual juice drink.
As a fan of homemade rosewater lemonade, I am twitching at the thought of sickly sweet carbonated beverages that taste like they were invented by someone who may have been in the same room as a citrus fruit once but canât remember what it actually tastes like being called lemonade.
Wtf did y'all think beyonce was talking about????
oh wow I hadnât even considered that. Like millions of people worldwide hearing the album title but not understanding what lemonade means even on the most superficial level.
This is so epically disturbing. Lemonade is such an integral part of spring and summertime. I just ⊠this breaks my brain and my heart. The cultural references too. Just, all the American shows that reference lemonade and people in other countries are thinking Sprite? Thereâs a reason kids do freshly squeezed lemonade stands. You canât buy it like that from a store. And thereâs nothing quite like screwing it up and getting the sugar ratio wrong. And parents grinning through the too sour or too sweet mess and praising your efforts. Lemonade Is a Thing.
Wait does that mean Aussies make Shandies with sprite?????
Does this mean a significant portion of the global population donât know what to do when life hands you lemons?
Maybe they make a lemon tart.
đđđ @nerdygrlwonder @leftylain
Dear Lord! What y'all thought pink lemonade was?
Son. I donât even know what to think about America. Are we stupid or is the world out of touch?
I for real just looked at the wikipedia article and what we drink in the US and Canada as lemonade is also popular in and derived from India.
The article calls the non carbonated kind cloudy and the carbonated clear.

The speed and the assurance with which Anderson answered that he absolutely believed his ancestor deserved to die was astounding to me. Iâve never seen a mainstream public figure do that before.Â
hint: if a person with clinical depression and anxiety says theyre tired âŠ. dont tell them they have no reason to be âŠ. bc guess whatâŠ.. They Know and Its Shitty
Louder!!!
I just want to add one thing-
If you have depression or anxiety? youâre not tired for no reason.
Youâre tired because you have depression/anxiety.
Not only do they both come with low energy/fatigue as a legit common side effect, but theyâre both fucking /exhausting/. fighting your brain all the time? exhausting. adrenaline crashes from anxiety/panic attacks? exhausting. being on edge all the time? exhausting. plus doing things costs /more/ energy when you have those mental illnesses.
Youâre not tired for no reason, youâre tied because you have an illness that makes you tired.
I needed to hear this so bad that it made me cry
hey if any if you want to donate cases of bottled water to residents in flint, send them to:
Triumph Church 1657 Broadway Blvd. Flint, MI 48506
omg please do, they canât even bathe without getting rashes, let alone drink water. this hits too close to home
If you canât afford to or donât care to ship water, there are other ways you can help! You can donate money to the Flint Water Fund so they can purchase water or filters, or to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund to directly help kids affected by the lead. If you donât have money, sign this petition to stop making Flint residents pay astronomical rates for unusable water. Water bills average $140 a month in Flint, and the city is trying to force them to pay, beginning with shutting off water, but since thatâs not much of a punishment, I imagine theyâll end up sending people to collections for unpaid bills.
Other places to send money, water, or filters include:
Small Amounts/Money
Catholic Charities Center for Hope 517 E. Fifth Ave. Flint, MI 48503 Monday â Friday, 9am â 4pm 810-232-9950
The American Red Cross 1401 S. Grand Traverse Flint, MI 48503 Saturday and Sunday, 9am â 4pm 810-232-1401

okay so in psychology years ago we learnt that itâs common for companies to put women in charge when thereâs a predicted downfall so that they could be all ha see women suck at being in charge. and I just find it interesting how the UK is gonna have a female PM right after Brexit so like years from now people are gonna be like âthe country saw some of its worst years under a womanâ when it was men that fucked it up and then ran
