I've never seen a lymphocyte count that high. I've definitely never seen a monocyte count that high.

This was reported by an external lab, with a note that they'd reviewed it - not something I saw myself but absurd-looking on the report. Neutrophil and lymphocyte numbers individually were also unbelievable. Not even a reference range issue, just like genuinely bonkers numbers

I am just imagining all the techs at the lab standing around the machine and a microscope used to manually confirm looking utterly confounded by what they were seeing. What was their call to the pathologist like? "Hi we have a blood sample here that has a higher white cell percentage than red cell? What do we do???"

As someone in the lab, yeah definitely standing around going bonkers because that's above any linearity we would be able to report anywhere that I have ever worked 😅 At best a manual count would have been done but once you reach 250+ you're pretty much like well fuck, this is some ALL type shit. And the monocytes were probably also way off because once lymphs start getting pumped out of the marrow too early and are more blasty than not they're not well differentiated by the flow measurement on most instruments. And from those photos (though it's a little hard to tell without oil at 100x look v blasty
