The outsiders amusement park/roller coaster hcs (Great America)

(FUN FACT: Flight Deck used to be called Top Gun after the movie franchise but they changed it because they stopped working with paramount I think.)

Ponyboy and Steve are fiends for rollercoasters. They hate each other, yes. But, they gang up to ride the rides and always sit next to each other since Ponyboy is Steve’s closest substitute for soda at the moment since soda won’t go on roller coasters.

Soda can’t go on rides at all, and throws up IMMEDIATELY. He threw up all over Steve once and Steve literally drove home and didn’t talk to him for a week

When Tiki Twirl closed for operation Johnny tweaked out, fell to his knees, and was like “FUUCKKK!!!!!!! NAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!”

Dally likes rail blazer cause it’s a single seat and no one is annoying and screaming their heads off in his ears, and he likes the thrill.

Ponyboy rides the coasters with the most straight face ever. He doesn’t really scream on them because he’s ridden them so many times. He will smile a lot though.

Johnny HATES the demon because of how shaky it is. He (modern au hc) has a lot of piercings so for how shaky the ride is he’s like sobbing to get off.

Dally’s fuck ass likes orbit, it’s a really painful ride but he doesn’t give a shit. He likes rides that spin you around, he likes being dizzy.

Steve is unreasonably good at claw machines so when he goes to amusement parks he wins soda a bunch of stuffed animals n stuff, he’s also good at the scam carnival games and always manages to get a prize to give to soda no matter how hard it is. His family used to go a lot when he was younger so he’s gotten pretty good.

When Pony was younger he used to cry if someone even TRIED to put him on a roller coaster or drop tower or anything.

Ponyboy and Sodapop really like water parks, they would race on the slides. The gang would make bets on who would make it down first.

Dally and Johnny LOVE the tube rides, the ones where the entire gang could get on and spin around in the tube. Dally purposefully makes the tube spin around more and it scares the crap out of Pony.

Steve likes to go to the wave pool with soda, sunglasses on, chilling bro.

Darry likes to go to the wave pool and go underwater and pull the gangs legs and like drag them under, makes them scream every time and he thinks it’s fucking hilarious.

When Soda was around 5 and Darry was 9, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis would put extra socks on the soles of Soda’s shoes so he could get on the “big kid” rides with Darry. This was before soda started throwing up in rides since that started when he was around 12-13

Two-bit will disappear from the gang for around 45-70 minutes and the gang will be like “bro where the fuck did you go??” “yo, I was at bumper cars.”

On the topic of it, Two-bit and Steve are menaces at bumper cars. They team up and bump the shit out of the gang.

Two-bit likes to go to Snoopy Land and take pictures with the characters and always stages it like it’s a family picture and pony is his little brother to make it look less embarrassing for him.

Johny fucking LOVESSSSSS the food. One time he ate too much and ended up throwing up in a trash can and having to sit at a bench with two-bit and dally for 20 minutes till he recovered.

Pony tried his first ever normal flavored monster at the park and he thought it was gross and dumped it out after taking 1 drink. He had only ever tried the pink flavor before and had thought that the normal one would be equally as good. 0/10 (true story with @m4sonn this happened I was there)

The gang was going to ride Gold Striker together and Pony had a full-ass panic attack in the line so Soda went to wait outside with him (true story, I was there. -@m4sonn) (Pony is me, that happened 10/10 true story -peachy) (I bought her a bag of chips and like a sprite or something since the store didn’t have water) (fun times) (ya it was on the band great america trip it was so (not) silly -peachy)

Two of the only rides soda can go on are the swings and bumper carts so they all usually go together. Two bit loves bumper carts :3

Dallas and Johnny will usually disappear to go ride on rides together, they usually will buy fast passes off of people when they enter the park, so they wait an extra 30 minutes in front of the park gates to buy fast passes off some probably innocent family leaving. (they pay like $20)

Dallas will begrudgingly go on the Snoopy Land rides with Johnny. (He probably uses his phone)

Steve bought him and soda fast passes basically to impress his girl (soda is his girl 💀) since he had the extra money saved and they went off together for a while too. They probably ride the carousel together per soda’s request.

Soda really likes the fire work shows and him and Steve will often come by themselves, sit on top of Steve’s car, and watch fire works together. (How romantic 😜😝😛🏳️‍🌈🔥👊😼😆 🍆💦💧🌊🍑)

Dallas and Pony both use their phones on rides, Dallas gets caught more often. Pony actually records the ride and on the other hand Dally probably records Johnny or just the gangs reactions on the ride.

Soda and dally like to take lots and lots of pictures because they like to have memories of these moments and soda usually uses a Polaroid camera or just gets them printed so he can pin them on his wall :3

Darry has caught soda and Steve making out behind the bathrooms multiple times but they still make no efforts to find a better hiding spot

Johnny is the kid who has his hood on the entire time on the ride to hide the fact he has his headphones in. Nobody cares but he still feels the need to hide it like he’s in school or smth 💀

Darry and Steve basically have  to keep a leash on soda cause that mfer is so easily distracted like this mfer is like “pretty flashing lights!!!! :D” “oooohhhhh shiny!!!!!!! :3” like a fucking animal it’s insane.
