So I went down a rabbit hole of looking up the meanings of names just for fun and I looked up the meanings of Jace and Luke and I'm not sure if anybody has ever pointed this out before but the name Jace means healer and "lord of salvation" and Luke means light or "bringer of light" and now I'm in my feels thinking about rhaenyra and her boys

So, getting back into the Mortal Instruments fandom again and started rewatching the Shadowhunters TV show, and while I know Luke denies it, but that scene in episode 6 where Luke starts telling Clary about his and Jocelyn's past and Clary asks if Luke is her father, has me thinking of an au where what if he was? Imagine an au where either Valentine's suspicion was true, and Luke and Jocelyn got together before Valentine's supposed death, or were in the wake of the fire Jocelyn and Luke had a one-night stand that resulted in Clary

So I read both Muffinlance's "Salvage" and the time travel version, where Salvage!Hakoda time-travels to before Kya dies and adopts baby Zuko, and it got me thinking of a reverse version. Imagine a Zuko and Azula from an au where they were adopted by Hakoda, somehow getting sent back in time into the bodies of their child selves from either just before or just after Lu Ten died but before Azulon orders Ozai to kill Zuko and they both decide screw it they aren't waiting around for whatever happens next and they certainly aren't gonna suffer through several more years of ozai's sorry excuse for parenting when they have a perfectly good dad and siblings waiting for them and so they quickly pack their bags and book it to the south pole just in time to save Kya from the southern raiders at which point they proceed to pull a reverse adoption on a very confused hakoda and kya. They also, of course, get a jump start on that whole ending the 100-year war thing by freeing aang from the iceberg and gathering up the gaang several years ahead of schedule

So im a huge clarktavia shipper, and recently, I came up with several clarketavia aus mostly set during season 5 and on

1. Clarke and Octavia are secretly dating

Instead of Ilian following Octavia into that cave, it's Clarke, and the two of them end up hooking up

They end up dating in secret, but Clarke still goes with the others to rescue Raven and gets left behind, as in canon

Octavia still becomes Blodreina, and she ends up in an even worse place mentally and emotionally because now she's grieving not just Lincoln but Clarke too

When they are reunited, this drives a wedge into Clarke and Octavia's relationship, leading to them breaking up during the events of season 5, and just like in canon, Madi is made commander, and Clarke takes her and flees back to the valley, except Clarke was never arrested and never tries to kill Octavia instead a very protective Octavia who is still in love with clarke becomes even more obsessive then ever before wanting to win the war and reach clarke and madi before they can get hurt by McCreary and Octavia is angry with Bellamy for making Madi commander and driving her and Clarke off which is why he and Gaia end up in the arena

The valley is still destroyed, and they still all go into cryo sleep, ending up in sanctum, but Clarke and Octavia are exes that still love each other but haven't gotten back together

Bellamy still sends Octavia away, but neither Clarke nor Madi is happy about it

The entirety of the plot of season 5 still happens, but with Clarke and Octavia fighting to get back to each other, and Octavia being determined to save Clarke after she is possessed by Josephine, and the two of them end up getting back together after Octavia saves Clarke

(sidenote I had the thought of Octavia being jealous of Clarke and Niylah's past together, but since she and Niylah are friends, she doesn't say anything, and after her and Clarke break up, Octavia ends up feeling insecure, fearing that Clarke might get back together with Niylah until her and Clarke get back together and clarke reassures her that she and Niylah are done.)

2. Octavia hears Clark's radio calls

I was inspired by reading the fics Radio calls by Royal-Phoenix 7000 and the Wanheda en Skairepa series by JET_MacLeod

during the season five time jump octavia ends up accidentally receiving all of clarkes radio calls to bellamy and spacekru over her own radio in second dawn but for whatever reason it only goes one way with octavia being able to hear Clarke but not able to respond to her

-This leads to octavia falling in love with clarke through listening to her on the radio and either

A.clarke manages to open the bunker

- clarke fails to open the doors the first day in polis and so she leaves finds the valley and adopts madi as she does in canon but like maybe 2-3 years in after years of her and madi making repeated attempts at clearing out the rubble to get to the door they manage to reach second dawn and get somebodies attention for them to open the door

- so now clarke and madi are living in second dawn as a part of wonkru and clarke and Octavia are slowly falling in love and Co leading the bunker together

- also Clarke's relationship with Madi leads Octavia to take a more active role with Ethan with her essentialy adopting him

- eventually clarke and Octavia officialy get together and are a happy family unit raising madi and Ethan together and leading their people with clarke and Octavia as the queens and madi and Ethan as their heirs the princess of death and the red prince/prince of blood(the titles are maybe a work in progress but you get the idea)

- with the bunker open the dark year never happens and by the time year 6 roles around and eligus shows up all of wonkru are already living in the valley meaning diyoza and everybody are forced to negotiate and share the land

Or

B.Clarke doesn't manage to open the bunker

-similar to the above but clarke and madi never manage to open the doors to the bunker so the events of season five mostly happen but with octavia secretly pinning after clarke while clarke is oblivious

-with the bunker not being open the dark year still happens leaving octavia traumatized but she's alot more willing to listen to clarke's advice amd so avoids some of the mistakes she made in season 5

- Octavia adopts Ethan and he is the prince of Wonkru

-All of wonkru knows about octavia's feelings and views clarke as another queen both because of Octavia and because they still remember Clarke as wanheda and they view Madi as their princess

- Octavia is still banished during season six and has her adventure with diyoza but her motivation to get home is about getting back to clarke and their kids not Bellamy and diyoza is alot more understanding of that

- Ethan lives and he and Madi form a sibling like relationship with clarke looking after him while Octavia is gone ad the two of them simultaneously lose their minds after clarke is supposedly killed by the primes but they also keep each other more stable then they would be alone and are determined to get their moms back and get them together

3. Clarke manages to get the doors to the bunker open and rules with octavia

- similar to the above two but without the radio calls

- clarke gets the bunker open that first day

- clarke and Octavia end up co leading the bunker similar to how clarke and Bellamy where running the 100 back in the day and they end up being a slowburn

- clarke being the only night blood ends up traveling around which is how she finds the valley and Madi though a little later than in cannon like say year 2

- clarke uses her own bone marrow to create the serum and over the corse of the five years turns everybody into nightbloods

- similar to the above with wonkru already inhabiting the valley wonkru is forced to share the space and either everybody lives hea or fighting still breaks out among the groups and the valley is destroyed leading to them going to crysleep and arriving in sanctum with the events of season 6-7 happening with clarke and Octavia as an established couple and family unit having adopted both Madi and ethan or maybe somebody on earth discovers and activates the anomaly stone or vice versa somebody on either sanctum or Bardo activates the stones ending up on earth and everybody gets pulled into the drama of season 6-7 that way

4. Clarke and Octavia are not together but have been crushing on each other for a while by the time they get to sanctum the events of season five have caused a rift between them but they still like each other and are now pining

- octavia and clarke have had feeling for each other for a while but never acted on them

- season 5 drives a wedge between them but during season six clarke grows closer with Jax and Miller again with spacekru iceing her out

- Octavia rescues her from the primes and they confess their feelings getting together

5. Fake dating/marriage of convenience turned real relationship au

A. Clarke takes a chance and tells octavia the truth about Madi

- During their conversation in the tent when Octavia asks about Madi instead of lying clarke tells the truth and the two of them form an alliance pretending to be together to both consolidate octavias power and take back the valley and to protect Madi

B.clarke makes it into the bunker but still finds Madi and her and Octavia end up adopting her together

-(could honestly go with any of the above fic ideas but...)

- Clarke is in the bunker she ends up finding Madi but it's a little too late to go with the same lie in canon about clarke donating bone marrow so Clarke and Octavia either pretend to be together and marry or they already are together and adopt her to keep Madi safe as their heir and the princess of wonkru

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place au were Billie's identity is revealed early because she and Roman grew up together as little kids, and either the memory charm didn't work all that well or it was never cast on Roman. In the original series, it's canon that the memory charm isn't exactly foolproof since in "Eat to the Beat" Harper gets her memories erased by Stevie and literally the next episode is starting to remember at least enough to be able to tell something is wrong and to tell Alex and have her cast the counterspell. So imagine Alex and Justin cast the memory spell and either it works but they forgot to cast the spell on Roman leading to them being very confused the next time Alex visits when little Roman asks where his cousin is. After all, as far as Alex knows, she's never even been pregnant before. Or the spell doesn't fully work with Billy and Roman both growing up with vague half-forgotten memories that don't make any sense both of them having this feeling like they are missing something but having no idea what until the moment Alex and Bille show up and the two of them lay eyes on each other for the first time.

While I am a diehard swanqueen shipper I went down the Redqueen rabbit hole and became obsessed so now...

Redqueen au where Regina and Red start dating pre-season one during the curse (like before Regina even has the idea to adopt Henry) and at first, it starts off as another form of petty revenge on Regina's part, but it slowly spirals out of control until by the time Emma shows up the two are married and have been raising Henry together for ten years. Like, I'm imagining Regina just showing up to Granny's one day for breakfast, and she sees "Mary Margaret" and "Ruby" laughing together, and she remembers how they were friends in the enchanted forest and so she can't resist starting to flirt with Red just a little. And it's all just a bit of harmless fun, right? After all, it isn’t like it's going anywhere or like it means anything, and neither of them will remember the next day anyway. Except Regina is already starting to get bored with the curse, and maybe she already finds Ruby at least a little attractive, so she keeps doing it. Especially when, as time goes on, Ruby starts to flirt back. And slowly, it stops being about Snow at all as Regina starts spending more and more time at the diner coming by for lunch or dinner and sometimes staying late until close with the two of them talking and forming a genuine connection. And I honestly can't decide if they get together before or after Henry is adopted because on the one hand, I like the idea of Henry being the one to get them together with Red becoming smitten with the clearly overwhelmed new single mother and getting Regina's attention by being the only one who can help calm Henry down in those early days after Regina brought him home but on the other hand I also like the idea of them being an already established couple who end up choosing to adopt Henry together. Either way they get together and are happy up until Henry gets the storybook and realizes about the curse so he goes and gets Emma who breaks the curse and I'm imagining season 2 with Regina and Red having a full blown divorce arc with Red taking Henry and going to stay at Granny's with her and Emma basically trading off custody of Henry and Red is angry and torn between her loyalty to Snow and the rest of her friends and her lingering feelings for Regina with Regina having her redemption arc Kickstarted by her desire not just to get Henry back but to prove herself worthy of him and Red and the two of them slowly falling back in love again

So, I mentioned in my previous post here that the song " Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story " from the musical Hamilton makes me think of Sabé and Padmé. well while I was rereading Queen's Peril I noticed there's this moment in the beginning of the book after padmé and sabé first meet and are getting to know each other sabé makes a joke something along the lines of "I promise to wait till your time as queen is over before I write a tell all about all the mistakes you made in the early days" and it got me thinking...what if she did? Not specifically about Padmé, but everything, you know? Padmé trusted them with almost everything and for the most part, they were there at her side for all of it anyway from her first days as queen through the Trade Federation's invasion to her days as senator and throughout the clone wars so just imagine an au where post-Revenge of the Sith Sabé and the rest of the handmaidens like shortly after padmes funeral are trying to figure out where to go from here and the empire is on the rise right? And there is so much propaganda going around and so many lies being told about the Jedi, about the war, about Padme, and whatever happened to her, and they snap. Palpatine has betrayed them. Panaka has betrayed them. And Padmé is gone, her legacy being actively erased and rewritten before their eyes, and they weren't able to save her, but they can do something about this. So they put their heads together and begin to write and at first it's meant to be nothing more than a biography about padmé setting the story straight and making sure her memory lives on but they are angry and grieving and slowly it becomes more. They start adding their own firsthand accounts, and they don't hold back on exposing every corrupt senator that padmé ever argued against after all she isn't here anymore so what's the point in holding their tongues. They start exposing the truths about the events of the clone wars everything Palpatine tried to lie about or bury everything they know of at least and as they go on it gets them to start digging into the things they don't know and they start investigating Palpatine as closely as they can until they find out about Palpatine being a Sith lord, they find out about the chips and order 66, and they find out about him working both sides of the war and how he organized the trade federations invasion, and how he likely played at least a part in padmés death. And so they get angry, and they add all of the evidence they have gathered into their book as well, and then they publish it. Just imagine them releasing the Star Wars equivalent of the Reynolds pamphlet. The sheer scandal that would erupt and maybe it wouldn't be enough to completely take down the empire, but it would be a significant blow to Palpatine and every other corrupt politician they exposed.

So, I'm not usually an OutlawQueen shipper, but earlier today, I was thinking that I've seen some fics that explore the idea of what if Regina had gone into the tavern that night. But has anybody ever considered the reverse? When Tinkerbell cast that spell and she and Regina were standing outside the tavern, you can see Robin looked like he was kinda glowing, which is how Tinkerbell knew it was him and I couldn't help thinking how did he not notice? So what if he did? What if Robin noticed the spell and looked up just in time to catch a glimpse of Regina through the window? What if instead of Regina going into the tavern, Robin followed her out?

As a Rose Quartz stan, something that kills me after rewatching the series is that, even after 6,000 years and thinking she was shattered, it still wasn't enough to make the Diamonds treat Rose right. They fully believe that Steven is Rose/Pink. The way they treat Steven is exactly the way they believe they are treating Pink. And that is to throw "Pink" straight back into that tower the second "she" does anything they deem out of line. And the way the narrative tries to drive this home when steven relives that memory of Pink being trapped in the tower before and having it directly parallel Steven's current experiences.

I'm in the planning phase of writing a series of Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond centric fics, so i thought I would share the ideas i have so far if anybody is interested. A lot of these are mostly my thoughts and headcanons about Rose and Steven if she got the chance to raise him

1. Rose actually does get resurrected in "Change Your Mind" when White pulls out Steven's gem... unfortunately for White Rose is a rather protective mom and is not happy when she sees what White did to Steven

2. In a world where Rose was able to exist at the same time as steven and raise him, steven doesn't grow up resenting her but is actually a total Mama's boy who gets extremely protective of Rose when the Diamonds are around post "Change Your Mind" after seeing first hand how they treated her

3. Post "Change Your Mind" Rose and the diamonds go to family therapy together

4. (As a firm believer in Amethyst is Rose's first kid and Steven's big sister supremacy) young Amethyst feeling a bit jealous and insecure after steven is born and Rose comforts her

5. Au where the diamonds are actually a functional family with pink being the much-beloved baby of the family until she has Steven, who gets doted on as the even more beloved grandson

6. Set sometime after "We Need To Talk" where Rose and Greg are spending time together and actualy end up talking to each other about their pasts and Rose opens up to Greg just a little bit more than she means to by telling him about the diamonds and how they treated her with him helping her come to terms with everything and her being able to acknowledge for the first time that she didn't deserve it

7. Au based on a headcanon I have where Rose is really claustrophobic and scared of the dark and it's basically a 5+ times fic of like all the times where people close to Rose actualy noticed this fact and then one time post "Change Your Mind" where they finally understood why

8. Au where Pink chooses to rebel as herself not Rose Quartz

9. Au set sometime during the rebellion where either something happens to reveal Rose's secret to the rest of the crystal gems or pearl convinces her to come clean on her own but instead of hating her or being angry Rose is surprised to find that her new friends are actually understanding and end up accepting her after she explains everything ( I just really loved the idea of some original crystal gems found family fluff with a side of Rose getting bashed over the head with the knowledge that she is genuinely loved by her friends)

14. In an au where they decide to send him to school, Rose and Greg take Steven to his first day of kindergarten together

15. Rose and Greg taking Steven to the doctors for the first time and Rose being confused and protective when steven gets vaccinated with Greg having to calm her down and tell her that it's okay and the doctor isn't hurting steven

16. The episode "Fusion Cuisine" but with Rose and Greg being the ones to go to dinner with Connie’s parents

17. Rose, Greg and the gems seeing steven and connie off on their first official date together

18. Rose helping Steven look for a ring to propose to Connie

19. Rose, Greg and the gems getting emotional at Steven and Connies wedding

20. Mom!blue with young pink

21. Mom!yellow with young pink

22. Mom!white with young pink

23. Au where there was no corruption blast and Rose and Steven are able to exist at the same time so Steven grows up being raised by all the original crystal gems not just Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, and Greg

Post "Change Your Mind" where Rose is torn between happiness over the war ending and feeling hurt and jealous seeing how the Blue,Yellow,and White are actually trying for Steven when they never did for her and ends up crying to Greg or one of the gems about it (Inspired by that one scene from the good place with Eleanor and Michael where they're talking about her mom and he asks "why can't you accept that she's living an honest life. That she's an attentive partner and a good mom, " and Eleanor replies,"because I wanted that mom! I wanted the mom that made me afternoon snacks instead of telling me to look for loose fries in the McDonald's ball pit. If Donna Shellstrop has truly changed, then she was always capable of change. I just wasn't worth changing for."

27. Au based on my own headcanon and this one fic here https://archiveofourown.org/works/54796603 where Rose was not aware of the gag order she placed on pearl believing that her words to pearl about not talking about things again where genuinely just words not knowing her request would physically stop pearl from speaking and she is horrified when she finds out
