kinda crazy that your entire school life sets up an expecation of summer vacations and winter holidays and spring breaks and then you graduate and most workplaces are like "you get 2 weeks of PTO AT MOST and if you even think about using any of those days off on a major holiday there is a 50/50 chance your manager will kill someone and frame you for it"

the commodification of friendship is the most annoying thing to come out of the internet in ages. like actually i love to break this to you but you're supposed to help your friends move even if it's hard work. or stay up with them when they're sad even if you're gonna lose sleep. you're supposed to listen to their fears and sorrows even if it means your own mind takes on a little bit of that weight. that's how you know that you care. they will drive you to the airport and then you will make them soup when they're sick. you're supposed to make small sacrifices for them and they are supposed to do that for you. and there's actually gonna be rough patches for both of you where the balance will be uneven and you will still be friends and it will not be unhealthy and they will not be abusive. life is not meant to be an endless prioritization of our own comfort if it was we would literally never get anywhere ever. jesus.

I was reading Under the Red Hood tonight and I was thinking about how when Talia took Jason in after he was found wandering, Ra's was like "fine you can bring him home but you're not putting him in the Pit or telling the Bat that he's alive" and Talia agrees but eventually decides fuck that and dunks him anyway. I was with plenty of cis people who didn't know I was trans when I was a teenager. This was common practice for trans people for decades. Ciara's imprisonment will be another shameful scar on Britain's past.

this is going to get trans women killed, btw. especially trans women of color. when transphobic men discover that women they're attracted to are trans, they will often murder them. i've been seeing cases like this since i was a teenager. men feel like their masculinity is threatened by association, and they react violently to recoup their masculinity.

a trans women who has any association with men or needs to sleep with men for money is now faced with a choice: risk being murdered, or be charged as a rapist.

this court knows what they're doing. how many cases of trans women murdered for disclosure have these lawyers seen in the news, seen taken on by their colleagues? they know they're turning trans women into a legally rapeable, murderable underclass.
