Everything Naomi and Orochimaru had endured in each of their own individual journeys, as well as how much their own bond had been forged through turmoil and growth, had led up to this day. This momentous occasion, an occurrence most claimed ‘only happens once in your life!’ One that the Senju had grown to believe may never come to her.
Romance had never been a priority for her. She spent most of her adulthood chasing after her old sensei to bring him to justice. She’d formed various bonds, deep emotional and even romantic ones, with many men and women across the five great nations. But none of them were marriage worthy, all uncommitted but wonderful moments that built up her past.
And never in all those years of chasing Orochimaru did she ever think it would lead to this day, under the warm autumn sun where she’d marry the very Snake Sannin. And yet, his little mouse had found herself in this position. She had even been the one to ask him to marry her, after years of working together after he’d been pardoned. Spent time training Mitsuki together, and helping Orochimaru. And he had never asked, never even made a move. But the closer they had become, and the more… domestic light she had begun to see him in so often… she couldn’t deny her own feelings. Confessing, spending months properly dating and figuring this new dynamic out before she got on one knee after the sun had set one evening. Despite his shock at each new development, Orochimaru accepted the changes and, while still being himself… allowed his little mouse to try and keep him on the right path.
And so, as multi-colored fall leaves cascaded around them in the light breeze, the two made a vow they’d take to their graves. To always love one another, to accept the other may make mistakes, so long as they stayed together and pushed one another in the right direction… their love would guide them. It sounded just as cheesy as expected, coming out, resulting in laughter and awkward smiles.
But after their first kiss, and they were officially wed, Naomi pulled her new husband to the side. The first photo even reflected that fact: Orochimaru’s stiff expression and pose beside Naomi’s bright smile. But by the time the second had been taken, the two had begun bickering, laughing, and loosening up. Resulting in the final photo showing the couple's true colors.

A location rarely visited by the Senju, the kunoichi too mindful of Peeping Toms or anything of the like. But for once, between all that was going on both inside and outside of her home village, she finally found a rare moment of respite.
The bath house was empty, aside from Naomi, of course. The hot water and steam refreshing and relaxing on her stressed muscles. No interruptions, no distractions. For once, things were calm and she could relax.

ok o k this ych has been sitting in my drafts since march... i just couldn't get myself to sit down and write a caption for it -- even if I ended up just writing a super simple one anyways. oh well,, its still a super pretty piece I'm super happy with and couldn't go without posting <3
[note : this takes place after the chunin exams, and after sasuke retrieval arc — as well as after my last storyline post where she removed her jonin vest]
It had been several weeks since Naruto and his friends returned from trying to bring Sasuke home, and Naomi was growing restless. She’d already abandoned her hope of ‘bringing Orochimaru home’ to try and bring back the man she once looked up to, and with the time stretching on since Sasuke had gone — She couldn’t understand how anyone was sitting around, much like her young cousin, Naruto. However, with her personal connection and issues with Orochimaru, she couldn’t just sit back in the village doing nothing anymore—weeks of busywork and training, missions to fetch scrolls and nothing else.
She was forbidden from pursuing Orochimaru or Sasuke, especially since multiple ninja had already attempted to rescue Sasuke and failed.
But Naomi was stubborn, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to her parents. And she ended up attempting to track Orochimaru on her own. She told herself it was to bring Sasuke home, but she hoped to get them both back to the village. Just one as a prisoner.
To her luck, after three days of tracking him, she found the snake sannin. However, he was alone. No Uchiha in sight.
The Senju would attempt to restrain the sannin with her wood style technique, hoping that his paralyzed arms and inability to perform jutsu would give her the advantage she needed. And for a few hours, she put up a good fight against him. He was slippery though, like the snake he was. And ultimately escaped, laughing and mocking her as he did.
Naomi would spend the next few days looking in the area for him or the hideout he was in, knowing that would be where Sasuke was. But she returned to Konoha from her search empty-handed and ready to be reprimanded for disobeying the village’s orders.

ok so FINALLY adding to Naomi's storyline in the main series :3 I took a while writing a caption for this one bc I got it and then realized I wasn't sure if I wanted THIS to be her next appearance in the show after her vest removal scene or if I wanted her to accompany Naruto and her father, Jiraiya, to find Tsunade. but after some thinking, I realized with that mission's close connection to Orochimaru, I don't believe Naomi would have been allowed on that mission, truthfully. it'd make sense if ultimately her NOT being allowed on that mission would actually add to her frustrations that would lead her to leave to search for Orochimaru herself.
my old friend @ ilymiraii opened comms a while back like I had been begging her to and I was so excited to try and get Naomi drawn in a different art style — what better opportunity than one of my besties who can do a nana art style damn perfectly? my bffl (who doesn't want to be tagged or mentioned by user) suggested this pose / reference and it was just too PERFECT for Naomi to be reading one of the Icha Icha novels (written by her father 💀 iykyk) just absolutely adorable 🥰
