The new craze on the...
...arena sands of Solaris is the game mode they call the "Grand Mix". The rules are quite simple: an infantry wargaming team and a gladiator MechWarrior lance team up. Then, the MechWarriors all get out of their machines and kit up with the softsplatter wargaming guns, and the grunts all swap their rigs and quad-nods for cooling vests and NeuroHelms, and the two sides go at it.
No coordination is allowed, mind you; there's no cross-training beforehand*. This is often disastrous, wholly by design. You haven't seen a really great match until you've watched a BattleMaster instinctively try to drop prone when fired on, or a group of hardened MechWarriors pausing behind cover to argue which of them actually runs the fastest. The tickets are selling like Martell mediums.
(*outside of necessary neuro-sync acclimation time, can't have the competitors passing out from migraines in the cockpit.)
