Anyway I think more video game quests should make you uncomfortable and guilty and mislead you and corner you between a rock and a hard place and offer hollow victories. There's nothing more annoying than quest writing that scrambles to assure you that you're niceys and good and nothing you put your hand on can ever have negative consequences. "You cannot save everyone" and I cheer and whoop etc.
huh? bweh?
tumblr is great bc its like a diary where I can take other peoples diary entries and glue them into my own diary
The problem with studying the deep ocean is that humans need light to look at things, the depths of the ocean are extremely dark, and what lives there is accustomed to spending most of its time in that darkness. So when we go down there with submersibles and turn on Big Lights to see, we invariably and dramatically alter what's going on, in the same way that it's generally difficult to observe the natural behaviors of terrestrial animals if you whip out a megaphone and shout HEY GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING at them first.
A humble snubnose eelpout on its way to the whale fall buffet when some nearby humans give it a quick, unintrusive study:
I put this in the comments but feel it needs a reblog- Check out some of Dr Edith Widderâs work on light in the deep sea! Among other things, she used the bioluminescence of stoplight fish to deduce wavelengths which most deep sea animals canât perceive and used that to create light filters to be able to film with minimal disturbance! And thatâs how we got 25 minutes of giant squid footage!!!!
Maybe the most damming thing about Nolans odyssey is i havenât seen a single gifset from it

World Heritage Post
Australian Raven (aka Little Raven) being harassed by a Willie Wagtail
I had to draw them
Holy fuck
Watching the wagtails harass much larger animals is one of my favourite things. They are tiny bastards and I love them.
Willy wagtails are down to fight absolutely every single thing they have ever met. Worldâs most aggressive bird, mighty warrior who dreams of nothing but slaughter, thatâs only the size of a mouse if it was a big mouse.
âŚ.this bird seems to be the epitome of âIâll kick your ass! Iâll kick her ass, Iâll kick all their asses ⌠Iâll even kick my own ass!â
The Raven just seems so done with Willieâs shit
âNo Willie, âe wasnât lookinâ at you. Yes I get it, youâre big and tough. Now can you please shut it, Willie? Weâre on watch duty or have you forgotten?â
Here's the link to help out.

I do enjoy a good visual gag, and an old favorite of mine is âthere is Math on a Board in the background that contextually makes no sense.â This broadly comes in 3 flavors I enjoy:
⢠the board is in front of a classroom, and the Math is waaay too advanced for whatever level of pupil these kids are supposed to be; like having the calculus integral in front of kindergartners, or relativistic physics in front of high schoolers.
⢠the board is in front of Criminals, who are Planning Something, and by all rights there ought to be no Math there to begin with. Like. Youâre planning a Heist why do you have the Full Lagrangian on there. Are we taking a rocket to the bank.
⢠the characters are super-genius science fiction people. The Math is âPiâ3.24â with an unlabeled pie chart.
âhey this dog looks to be struggling to perform very basic functions and that is very worryingâ âwell ACTUALLY if you STUDIED THE BREED STANDARD youâd see that this dog is actually the IDEAL ______â YEAH. THIS TOO IS THE PROBLEM. WHAT ARE YOU NOT GETTING.
âyou canât blame breeders for breeding to standard :/â i actually find it very easy to blame them. they are the ones creating the dogs on purpose, you see
