A nourishing homemade bone broth that serves as a base for various soups and dishes. Packed with nutrients and rich flavors.
Ingredients: 4 lbs beef or chicken bones. 2 carrots, chopped. 2 celery stalks, chopped. 1 onion, quartered. 4 cloves garlic, smashed. 2 bay leaves. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. 10 cups water. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Place bones in a large pot and cover with water. Add chopped vegetables, garlic, bay leaves, and vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 4 hours up to 24 hours for richer flavor. Skim off any foam that rises to the top during simmering. Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cool and refrigerate or freeze for later use.
