Hi folk! Welcome to my page. I've seen a lot of intro posts so I wanted to join that train.
Blog header description at the bottom of this post.
I'm Pecan Praline Enthusiast, you can go with Pecan or Praline for short. I predominantly use Ey/Em/Eirs pronouns (spivak pronouns) and el/elle pronouns. I'm disabled, intersex, queer, and transgender. I am 25 years old.
I'm from the rural southern united states and proud of it. Any anti southern or anti rural talk will get you blocked. The classism, racism, and scapegoating that permeates discussions of the south has been and continues to be a problem. Southern leftist activists produce incredible works, fight important battles, and make real change. I will not tolerate their silencing, erasure, or dismissal. Especially considering the vast majority of our activists are black, indigenous, and/or brown.
I'm new to tumblr, and I am still learning tumblr etiquette and text culture.
Content warning for my blog: I will be discussing ableism, intersexism, anatomy, sexism, medical abuse, and other potentially mature themes. I do not plan on posting anything sexual, but if I do i'll label it appropriately and put it under the keep reading line.
Disability Wise
[Plaintext: Disability Wise]
I have physical, sensory, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Many of my disabilities are congenital and many of my disabilities are dynamic. I use mobility aids to navigate the world.
I consider myself queer crip as well as neuroqueer. I embrace mad pride.
Intersex Wise
[Plaintext: Intersex Wise]
I am intersex. I am not going to detail my body here, nor should that be expected from intersex people, activists, etc.
I feel my being intersex is more similar to my disabilities than it is to my being queer, yet I still see my intersex body and experiences as queering.
I follow the Social and Justice Intersex Models. I believe in intersex liberation.
I am Anti intermedicalist. I hate bioessentialism and pathologizing.
Queer Wise
[Plaintext: Queer Wise]
Queer is a political label I live and wear proudly.
My gender is complicated. I'm transgender, intergender, and gender fluid all at once. It can be a lot to explain to people, so I often simplify it and tell people i'm just nonbinary.
I'm mostly aromantic, and i'm double demi. There's some level of split attraction in there, though overall i am pan.
Pronouns
[Plaintext: Pronouns]
I mostly use Ey/Em/Eirs (english, spivak pronouns) and El/Elle (spanish), but I do have exceptions.
For people whose first language isn't english, who are learning english, and/or who struggle with english pronouns I accept they/them or he/him.
For people with disabilities impacting their ability to remember, use, or understand my pronouns (such as dementia) any pronouns are fine.
Race
[Plain text: Race]
My race is white, and my ethnicity is predominantly Irish. My nationality is North American, specifically the United States.
Culturally, I am most connected to Irish American culture. Because of this, I identify as Irish American.
Languages
[Plain text: Languages]
Language wise, I grew up in communities with both English and Spanish and learned a few more along the way. Unfortunately due to brain damage I now struggle with language and sometimes mix them up. Because of this, I mostly stick with the language I lost the least of (which is English). Though I did have to relearn parts of English and I still struggle with my vocabulary and basic word recall sometimes.
Politics
[Plaintext: Politics]
I'm a leftist, and trying to educate myself more on different labels. I live with brain damage and memory issues, so please be patient with me as I navigate learning and relearning this. As of right now, I consider myself a socialist.
Do Not Interact
[Plaintext: Do Not Interact]
DNI if you are: Racist, Anti semitic, zionist, sexist, intersexist, anti indigenous, queerphobic, transphobic, xenophobic, ableist, islamophobic, classist, anti hillbilly, trans medicalists, zoophiles, TransID, anti immigrant, anti undocumented, pedophilic, fatphobic, pro ana.
Do not interact, and actually go ahead and block me, if you believe being trans makes someone "brain intersex".
Blog Header Description
[Plaintext: Blog Header Description]
The blog header is a photo of flowers, the flowers are purple bee balm. The photo is overwhelmingly green, with many leaves and plants in the background. Centered at the bottom of the photograph is a small circle containing my profile picture, which is also predominately green. It contains an extremely simplified dark grey outline of a rabbit running, with its head facing the right. The background is green. The doodle is smudged, and there are blue dots over the rabbit.
Below the photo is the text portion of the header of the blog. The text is in pink. The text has emojis in it. The plain text is as follows:
Pecan Praline Enthusiast. Ey/Em/Eirs. 25. Intersex / Disabled / My Gender is Complicated. Intersectional Eco Feminist. If your activism has no roots in mutual aid or community or if it leaves anyone behind?

End of description. If folk see errors please point them out to me, I myself have vision impacting disabilities and am colorblind so it can be difficult for me to write visual descriptions.
A term for somatic intersex people who actively choose to highlight, amplify, or build upon intersex traits in ways that resist pressures to erase or "normalize" them, such as taking testosterone to encourage preexisting clitoromegaly, wearing a push-up bra to emphasize gynecomastia, dyeing a hirsutism beard or applying serums to it to promote growth, or otherwise leaning into what our bodies already do.
It is taking such pride in what society tries to hide that you go the opposite way—intersex traits are emphasized in a way that goes against the status quo.
If you're wondering whether something you've done falls under this term, ask yourself: does this augment, embrace, or build upon intersex variation, or does it diminish it in order to conform to a norm?
Flag ID: A bright yellow flag featuring a large purple four-point star symbol in the center. The star has rounded, curved points extending up, down, left, and right, with a hollow center. Two small purple accent marks appear near both the upper right and lower left points of the star, creating the impression that the central symbol is shining or glowing like a sparkle
So for the record because I've seen sooooo many phm posts going around using slurs. Yes, people in the intersex community are aware that hermaphrodite is used in biological contexts to mean "animal that produces both male and female gametes." Yes, it's still a slur in that context, and was adopted in biological circles from its usage as a slur. The word has been used as a slur against intersex people since at least the 14th century. It came into use in biological contexts in the 18th century. This is a word that spent 400 years being used as a slur before it was used to mean an animal that produces two types of gametes.
Yes, Eridians only have one sex. I obviously don't speak for the entire intersex community, but the terms that intersex advocates suggest using alternatively are "cosexual" or "monoecious." Both of these terms describe organisms with male and female reproductive organs, or which produce both male and female gametes. If you're in the camp where you think Eridians only produce one type of gamete, an appropriate term would be "isogamistic."
We don't use the r-slur to refer to people with intellectual disabilities, despite the fact this was the commonly accepted medical term for many, many years. It was used in medical contexts. It was used in American federal law until 2009. The language has changed. Please be kind to your fellow fandom members and use a term to refer to Eridians that does not have a history as an intersexist slur.
“People should pass a test before being allowed to have kids.” “Isn’t it scary how white people have this inborn capacity for evil?” “I’ll never pass because males and females have different skull shapes.” “Autistic people have a stronger sense of justice than anyone else.” “I don’t want AMABs in my space because they’re dangerous.” “You shouldn’t have access to hormones if you dress like THAT.” “Anyone who does something that awful isn’t human.” “Some people really shouldn’t be allowed to vote.”
This is eugenics. This is phrenology. THIS IS NAZI SHIT, YOU ARE A LEFTIST BUYING INTO NAZI SHIT. YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE TO NAZI SHIT.
I've seen a lot of people in the comments saying people needing to pass a test to have kids is a good idea, but I don't think they understand what that means. The US government used to take Indigenous children from their parents for reasons as asinine as grandparents living in the home (called "overcrowded environment") or using only their native language at home instead of English (because it "failed to prepare" children for a world where English is the dominant langauge).
Children placed in residental schools were abused, murdered, and sold into arranged marriages with white men. More recently, children "adopted" out into white households are often also subjected to the same, as well as forcibly converted to Christianity.
The most effective way to protect children in the country is to give them rights to ensure their safety, autonomy and dignity. Eugenics and laws to control reproduction will not do that. Crafting legislation with the help of child wellness experts is a better choice.
I should add - the US government STILL disproportionately targets Indigenous families for child welfare checks. ICWA is supposed to protect against this but is unevenly enforced, and there's even talk of overturning it. Protect ICWA and Indigenous children.
For me a big part of “sex work is work” is that sex work should be socially viewed as totally legitimate work. I should be able to put sex work on my resume. I should be able to lean on the skills and knowledge I gain in this field and have that experience be respected. Right now I have a gap in my resume. But I’m also consistently doing advertising, social media management, inventory, merchandising, customer service, upselling!!! I’m working self directed, I’m solely responsible for every aspect of my business. I deserve respect, fuck.
a ton of people have unexpectedly followed me over the last 2 days so here is my rent-lowering gunshot:
the american south is the most racially diverse and poorest region of the united states, and any political sentiment that treats the south is stupid or expendable is inherently racist and classist. a lot of y'all are racist and classist. the south is also the heart of american culture. argue with a wall. you cannot deny that everybody in the entire world does not emulate artists from atlanta. there is vested interest in keeping the south poor and uneducated BECAUSE this is the most racially diverse region in this country. if you actually give a fuck about progress, you would fight for the south, not mock us.
“What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer; one day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sound of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciation of tyrants brass fronted impudence; your shout of liberty and equality, hallow mockery; your prayers and hyms [sic], your sermons and thanks-givings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy – a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of the United States, at this very hour.”
— Frederick Douglass (1818-1895), from a speech given at Rochester, New York, July 5, 1852.
"i (perisex person) keep seeing people call this intersexism, but I don't agree with them. What harm is there in (perisex) trans people 'acknowledging' themselves as having intersex brains?"
Maybe instead of taking your stupid privileged whiny ass up on a stage to contest being told by COUNTLESS people pointing out that your rhetoric is *not only* pseudoscience rooted in racism, sexism and misogyny (male vs female brains) but ACTIVELY HARMFUL to intersex people, you do a little thing called "shutting up and learning"
happy disability pride month to people who were/are abused because of their disability. my ex abused the fuck out of me specifically because i was too disabled to contribute to our lives the way they wanted. their abuse might even be part of why im so disabled in the first place (got shingles which can kick start chronic illnesses and was triggered by the stress i was under......because of the abuse).
i know so many people who were/are at the mercy of very terrible people because they literally have no other options. it's harrowing especially since ive been there.
if you're in this situation i hope so so dearly that you can get out as soon as possible. you deserve to be taken care of without having to fear the people who help you.
Cis people: giving some suicidal teenagers hormones that will save their lives after a long and lengthy process of consideration and approval from medical professionals is literally grooming and mutilation of a child
Also cis people, frothing at the mouth: I NEED to mutilate this intersex baby. PLEASE let me forcibly mutilate the genitals of this innocent newborn child before it can consent because I think it looks weird!! WE HAVE TO DO IT IT'S LITERALLY NECESSARY DESPITE HAVING NO KNOWN BENEFITS
If y'all see me spam liking one post or the follow button, it's because it hasn't been sticking. i'll click something and watch it unclick itself as i start scrolling or scroll on posts i've already liked and see them unliked.
fundamentally i dont think the biggest problem in the trans community is exorsexism or transmisogyny or transandrophobia or infighting or liberals or unity or whatever. i think the biggest problem has been and continues to be transmedicalism, because some parts of it have become vaguely unacceptable but no one really took the time to learn wholly what was wrong with it
This is my car that was burnt up with no known reason. We were coming back from a local powwow and pride event. My insurance is refusing to cover anything and I need help! I work as a caregiver and I can’t go back to work without a car and I need a wheelchair accesible one for both me being disabled and being a part time power wheelchair user and my client being a full time power wheelchair user who can’t transfer. I also need help paying rent, paying the tow fee, paying for replacements of me and my friend’s documents, medical devices and other objects lost in the fire. I’m recovering from surgery and can’t work until mid august. Please help!
You can support imprisoned people by sending them letters of support and money to use for the commisary and phone calls. Being in prison is expensive. Don't write anything that would get them in trouble. Prisoners' mail is read by guards.
Edited to add: Since a lot of people are reblogging this original post, I'm adding the updated version I did that incorporates the intersex circle...
I know intersex people are still getting excluded in a lot of LGBTQIA+ spaces (let alone wider society) and I think it's crucial to show this group is included in the statement that we all deserve equal rights.
