After your old master threw you out, you managed to convince another archmage to take you on as an apprentice. Their style is very different, much nicer and way more lenient. When you told them how your old teacher treated you, they were utterly horrified.

really love a corruption arc where the character is trying way too hard to make it work but they're in over their head and it's uncomfortable and embarrassing and they're swallowing their own puke every time they do something awful and damp with sweat and trembling but insistent that they can do this, they want it, they're not a child, but it's like they're playing dressup in clothes that are too big for them and trying to convince their own reflection in the mirror that they fit and it's just no fun to watch at all
+ then they find inside them a capacity for cruelty far more upsettingly vicious than anyone could have imagined and decide that because they enjoy how unafraid it makes them feel for the first time in as long as they can remember it must have been their true nature all along instead of something that had to be starved in the dark until it grew desperate enough to claw its way out 🙂↕️

So did Peccantum's investigation on Alastor and all that grey hair worthy freaking out feel validated at the end? Did he figure it out? Is he in on it now? Was he relieved Alastor had a plan after all?
OOC: Once Alastor was captured, Peccantum was freaking the fuck out and definitely having a Bad Time (tm).
Eventually he breaks into the Vee's territory to talk and figure out a plan with Alastor... To which he gets nothing. Alastor shares 0 details, leaving Peccantum to further spiral into stress & anxiety!
Through episode 6 & 7, he eventually calms down enough to return to the hotel, eventually joining Charlie & Vaggie in the distraction party (as Vox would certainly notice if he was missing). I imagine he keeps eyeing Alastor, looking for some kind of signal or something, but Alastor is just flat out ignoring him.
Things play out as normal (if Peccantum tries to intervene, Vox just ties him to a chair), until Alastor finally starts baiting Vox openly.
Peccantum was there during the deal, so he knows the exact wording and just... He can't believe Vox fell for it. Or rather, he can believe it, but it makes him laugh his fucking ass off.
In his mind, Vox was this uber-prepared threat that could outplay the entire hotel if need be. He was so fucking stessed about trying to find a way to beat him that he overlooked Vox's actual behaviors.
He slips from the chair to join Alastor on stage, though does his best not to overshadow the radio demon.
The two will definitely have a talk about this Later, I imagine, but for now they have a bigger fish to fight, I mean fry XD

A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.
Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.
Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.

love when an absolute nightmare of a character is introduced and all you can think is "jesus christ buddy what the hell is your problem" and the narrative gives you a hot minute to stew before explaining Exactly what is Their Problem. and you just sorta sit back in your metaphorical rocking chair and think "huh. yeah okay fair. that would do this to a person, yes."

I was using my day off to play around in the kitchen and accidentally wound up with a whole spare lasagna. If either of you would like a snack, I’ll bring some up to the station.
By the by, do you think I should offer some to @peccantumaskrp? I give my most solemn vow that this lasagna aligns with his food restrictions (the other one, which I’ve already shared with @hazbin-chef, and which likely better suits your tastes, is made with the very rude youth who was in front of me in the checkout line when I went to—ugh—purchase ingredients). The manager is always so reluctant to eat, and I confess myself somewhat concerned for his wellbeing—he’s been in a veritable state of starvation as long as I’ve known him.
At any rate, do let me know if you’d like some! It’s nice and hot now.
