what's your "if I won the lottery I wouldn't tell anyone but there would be signs" thing? mine is getting a fully green kitchen
I just really think they should have let Varric’s friends come hang out with him at Skyhold
Okay, OP, I 100% agree with you. But also, if Merrill was allowed anywhere around Skyhold, she'd have clocked Solas' bullshit immediately.

best character of all time
the duality of man
Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
All this discourse over who does "painting with light"
Hiroshi Nagai's paintings need sunglasses to look at.
They look like how it feels to walk across a parking lot on a 98° summer day without a speck of shade in sight.
They look like heaven but also like you'd burn your bare feet on the ground.
Even when you can see shade you know it's not enough and the minute you step out you'll be burnt to a crisp like a vampire.
And it's BEAUTIFUL
I'll throw in the wonderful Eizin Suzuki into this ring too, a man whose work just breathes light without actually using dynamic lighting in the usual way. It's no surprise both Nagai and Suzuki are both considered prolific in art pertaining to the city pop genre because they're able to paint these kinds of scenes with a delicate touch.
This feels like I could trip on that radio and fall right into that water, feeling the crystal waves as I drop in.
And this, a nice stroll down a resort strip, where my sunscreened skin could literally feel cooked if I leaned too close to the tiling.
And then a nice stretch of summer street, wherein you could see your face in the flushed red of that car provided it didn't blind you from its sunny reflections.
I don't think I even need to say anything more, Suzuki's a massive influence in how he even places colours so warmly in such unorthodox manner. It's a naturally sunkissed talent~ 🌊
Took me until about halfway through college before I realized “study” means “play with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it” and not just “read the assigned chapters and do the homework” and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.
The problem is that most primary and secondary teachers insist study means the second thing. We are taught from childhood that that's what it means.

I don't know how it happens, but the days slip by in such a delightfully quiet way that we forget to count them. Every Sunday I write in my Diary: oh, Sundays. Everyone looks so angelic and peaceful… warm weather, a pale sky, quiet trees, quiet people.

the diana allers interviews in shep’s cabin in me3 are so unserious in some ways. imagine you’re exhausted and hopeless and experiencing these insane horrors and then you turn on the news to see a riveting and hopeful interview with THE commander shepard and the person that’s supposed to save everyone shows up in a hoodie they’ve been blatantly wearing for a week straight, darkest circles known to man under their eyes, fish tank full in the background, model ship half-completed on the desk. shitty club synth music bumpin. look at my galactic hero dawg im gonna die
