Obviously, this is insane and wrong, but I would really like to linger over the "visually identifiable sex at birth" bit, because... babies quite famously do not have an easily clockable sex? Unless you're looking at their genitals, male babies are basically indistinguishable from female babies, which is partly why there's an entire cottage industry of almost instantly distinguishing them - on the level of putting a pink- or blue-colored cap on their heads within minutes of their birth - in order to allay the gender anxieties of parents and caretakers.

It's a phrase that seems to encapsulate so many of the psychological deviancies of the anti-trans movement, from "we can always tell" (no, if you're looking at a baby wearing a diaper with no other ornamentation, you literally can't tell! this has been a known fact of human existence for millennia!) to the bizarre insistence that people come out of womb fully-sexed, in sharp contrast to the attitude that I remember from just a few years ago that (rightly!) viewed infants and toddlers as largely sexless, to an absolute obsession with genitalia. Imagine walking up to a parent with a baby and demanding that they strip their child's clothes and diaper so you can see what they "really" are. You'd probably get hauled off by the cops, but apparently this information is now relevant for UK employers.

i think we need copyright reform. currently most works are protected by copyright for the life of the author plus 70 years. here are my two proposals.
