Support of ST5 finale and the Duffers x Rant x Hot Take
I really hope that this isn't a hot take but Stranger Things finale was exactly how it should have been. The hate against the Duffers is ridiculous. They gave us 40 minutes of wrap up. They can't make a freaking 5 hour episode because there should be a 3 hour battle and a 2 hour wrap up where we learn every single thing about Will's boyfriend, which college Dustin went to, which matches Steve's team won, how many movies Jonathan made. No, that's ridiculous. And there are so many damn characters that have come on throughout the show, how do people expect a backstory and a conclusion for every single character.
And for those who are saying that they defeated Vecna so easily, they literally spent seasons fighting him! What more do people want that the entire gang collectively defeated him, Will got powers from him and helped El with them because El couldn't do it alone, Henry's backstory, Henry stopping his redemption arc
And for those saying that Henry's backstory was too short, again, they couldn't create like one whole episode just for Henry. We see clips of it anyways throughout the seasons.
And Byler, again this is a hot take but Byler was literally never going to happen. The show was about Will accepting who he is and coming into who he is. Mike was Will's Tammy. That's how it should have been with Will realizing that his crush on Mike meant that he was gay. And that was his biggest source of denial and pain. It's like Nico and Percy!
And yeah, while I get that the Duffers could have added some elements into the finale such as the Demos and while it wasn't perfect, no finale is perfect.
And for those criticizing that the Duffers went into the finale without the script, they have said multiple times that they always had the story in their mind so that didn't change! And if you watch the making, they very clearly had an idea of how they wanted each character's story to end!
I genuinely saw somebody say that the fans invested more into the show like what are even saying? That was 10 years of their lives, more than half of each year going into that show. That was their minds, their heart and souls and brains going into it. We spent maybe a week binge watching the whole show. It was always their story and we were lucky to be a part of it.
And people didn't want anybody to die and when they don't die, they have a problem. If some character had died, they would have had a problem. We did get a tragic ending for Mike and El and even then they have a problem.
And dear gods, the theory that Ross Duffer's divorce affected season 5 because his ex was a ghost writer. Like are you serious? You do know they wrote the 1st volume of S5 as well that everybody went crazy over? And it's so out of pocket for somebody to say that like are you genuinely kidding?
Genuinely, the hate against the Bros is so disappointing.
This isn't hating against anybody, it's just a rant. Volume 2 of S5 and the finale was amazing. A job well done. The Duffers should take a bow because they gave us what we wanted. And an apology is owed because they gave us what we wanted and it was still not accepted.
