Hey, now - let the skeletons dress how they want. They have at least five sexes, so who knows how many gender identifications they have? And you’ve got to respect your skeleton army’s identifications before you all go into battle, right? Still lost on the five sexes part? Okay, I ‘splain you a thing about Anthropology. (AKA Boooooooooone Sciiiiiieeence!)
It turns out that you can tell a LOT from a skeledude’s bones. Diet, height, age, sex, general look, medical history (and its’ end)... Thing is, though, that while figuring out the height and diet is fairly easy, some of the sex characteristics don’t always match up, or don’t show up at all (they only show after puberty). That’s why the five classifications - basically, boy, boy-ish, dunno, girlish, and girl. (Anthropology made the classification system, not me.) Someone might have a girl-ish skull, but a boy pubic arch, or an unidentifiable pelvis and a male brow ridge; skeletons are far more unique than our silly little ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ social classifications.
So if Private Skippy wants to wear a gold thong with their combat boots and knight helm, I’M not going to be the one to tell them no.
So, really, no matter if you’re a boy skeleton with a human girl gender, or a girl skeleton who identifies as the gender version of ‘dunno’, everything’s coo, ‘cuz anthropological osteology and behavioral ecology’s totally got your back. Or spine. Or coccyx. All 206 parts of you, really. P.S. You can tell if it’s male, x-ish or female by their pelvic bone (sacrum and pubic arch), skull (brow ridge, eyes, mastoid process), and other such nifty bone parts. [For more concrete and accurate information, check out books on osteology and forensic anthropology.]
