i primarily only write for fem reader with she/her pronouns but i might occasionally write for a gn reader if it’s requested. i will never write male reader because i personally don’t feel comfortable writing from a pov i don’t understand.

Hot take but rigid divisions between queer identities and heavily-policed labels that are treated like diagnoses are really, really bad.
Trans men have shared histories with lesbians who have shared histories with bisexual women who have shared histories with ace people who have shared histories with aro people have shared histories with gay men who have shared histories with trans women who have shared histories with nonbinary people who have shared histories with etc etc etc etc etc.
Labels are important for people who want them, but we need to stop treating sexuality and gender as rigid boxes and checklists.
yes. labels aren’t a fort you need to protect; labels are a pin you can add to your backpack to signal being part of something. You can, in fact, have more than one label (as a treat).
Since it's the kn8 women's week and one of the themes of the day is misogyny, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a sentiment I've seen floating around this fandom for some time now that I believe is misogynistic:
Some people have voiced that characters like Iharu, Aoi, Haruichi, Kafka, and others are canonically attracted to Mina either sexually or romantically because they listed her as an inspiration for joining the Defense Force. This is not rooted in the canon material and, in my opinion, drawing that conclusion is rooted in misogynistic biases.
Again, I'm adding emphasis that some people have stated this as "canonically accurate" - I'm not talking about headcanons, ship dynamics, etc.
Men can have women as their role models. They can want to be like women, they can be grateful to women, and they can be inspired by women without wanting to be with them romantically or sexually. Honestly, to suggest otherwise does a disservice to not only the female characters of the series, but also to the male characters who have done nothing but view women as role models, heroes, rivals, and equals.
I'm not trying to call anyone out or make anyone feel bad, but I am inviting anyone who might think this way to reflect on their internal biases against female characters and question why they interpreted those manga panels through a romantic/sexual lens. I don't want to sound like a therapist, but I do believe that fiction and fandom are healthy spaces to unpack and examine these complicated ideas and biases.
