everyone who is not currently in the process of moving please pause and take a moment to be grateful that you're not currently in the process of moving
everyone saying "oh I didn't realize this was about moving house I thought you just meant like. physically moving your body": I have chronic fatigue. it is also about that.
Show up at work like hi boss sorry I'm late my I was helping my mother track down one specific 90s dungeon crawler for the purposes of obtaining a muffin recipe the developer hid in the files
Anyway shoutout to Stonekeep (1995)
I'M MAKING THE MUFFINS
Burnt my hand picking it up to show. Gonna wait to taste.
Taste review: Make the video game muffins oh my GOD.
These are DELICIOUS! I substituted chocolate chips for pecans because its what i had on hand.
It tastes like a pumpkin gingerbread cake! Great treat for fall and winter!
Definitely make these!
Text from recipe
Tim Cain's Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins -- They're the shadow king's favorite!
1 and 2/3 cup flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup sugar
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup pumpkin (half of a 16 oz can)
1/2 cup (one stick) butter, melted
preheat oven to 350. grease muffin tins (one dozen regular size) or use baking cups. mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Break eggs into another bowl. add pumpkin and butter and whisk until blended. stir in chocolate chips. pour over dry ingredients and stir until just blended. do NOT overstir! scoop batter into tins and bake 20-25 minutes. after cooling, keep muffins wrapped in plastic to avoid drying.
I'm sure people have pointed it out already, but
Tim Cain is one of the creators of Fallout
and he is an overall delight
I am a video game developer, mostly known for creating Fallout. I plan to use this channel to tell stories about game development, including
pop health science is so annoying bc it'll be like "did you know? eating strawberries will give you mega cancer" and you're like pfft whatever begone influencer. but sometimes then you'll see a reasonably credible article like "Study Shows Possible Link Between Strawberries and Mega Cancer" and you're not usually the type to follow that kind of thing religiously but idk maybe you should consider not eating strawberries? but then there's another article saying "Strawberry/Mega Cancer Study Debunked" and it turns out the original study had a sample size of 3 and was funded by Big Blueberry, and strawberries may have a small connection to mega cancer but only if you are genetically predisposed to mega cancer and eat 50 strawberries every day. so you return to your strawberry eating life. but whenever you eat strawberries in public someone tells you about the mega cancer.

You are appreciated
anyway idk if anybody here needs this reminder but: if you are disabled and have a professional caregiver, you do NOT need to feel bad for asking them to do the things that are part of their job description.
your needs are not too much. your needs are not too "gross". you are not too needy. and if your needs are literally more than a caregiver can handle, then the problem is that your case is understaffed, not that you need too much.
you do not owe your caregiver any more than what is in their contract and the common courtesy/respect that is owed to all people.
if your caregiver treats you like your needs are bad, or like you owe them, then that is wrong of them to do and is not okay. you deserve better.
do u ever see what ppl ur age are accomplishing and ur just like âwowâ and u go back to bed
Having a traumatic childhood means you cannot talk even objectively about your basic foundational experiences without it being "venting", even if you're not actually venting. You just straight up have a huge chunk of your life you can't talk about, full stop, without it being trauma dumping.
And it not being socially acceptable to talk about your own childhood is super alienating. Sometimes people want to know why, and any answer you can give them is going to be off putting.
It's to the point I get irritated when something I said is framed as venting when I'm literally just talking about my life experiences, doing my best to keep emotion out of it.
when I was in high school, I overheard two older students talking about a friend of theirs.
One of them said something like, "it doesn't bother me that [Friend] was in residential mental health treatment, I just wish they wouldn't talk about it ALL the time".
The other replied, "Well, that was all of last year for them. So when they say 'when I was in treatment,' it's like when you say 'last year'."
I try to remember that any time someone says something that sounds Shocking to me. sometimes one person's scary special crisis is another person's last year.
If you want to be accepting of mental illness, you need to accept the fact that some people's everyday lives are going to be terrifying to you. That doesn't mean they don't get to talk about it. Stop forcing hurt, isolated people to become even MORE hurt and isolated because you can't fathom toughening up a bit.

one of my friends in a discord server was talking about how they were nervous about their first scheduled acupuncture appointment. another friend offered to do a tarot reading for them. sent this picture.
@unhelpfultarot
I may not have the time nor energy for a long post today but that doesn't stop my brain from coming up with so many words, banging on the inside of my skull begging to be let out. I have a doctors appointment in 3 and a half hours and I haven't slept all night, and today, a neurosurgeon I saw for the first time took me condition seriously in a way that I wasn't used to, but I left with more confusion. The couple of diagnoses I have long thought to be the cause of my severe progressive paralysis were proposed--- not to be fake like many doctors have suggested ---but to not make enough sense, not be nearly severe enough to explain my symptoms.
today I went to a doctors appointment and they proposed that paraneoplastic syndrome should be investigated as a part of my differential diagnosis, a diagnosis I've only heard of from watching House MD. They said it could be that or an autoimmune condition attacking my central nervous system or something else, but luckily today they finally affirmed something I have long known: my reflexes are abnormal and there is no way this could be attributed to some bullshit functional overlay. Something is wrong, so wrong as to be out of the scope of a neurosurgeon at one of the best hospitals in the country. Something is wrong and even though I never stopped looking for an answer, even when I felt like I should be thinking horses not zebras (despite having (currently) and having had (in my childhood) multiple very rare conditions), I had settled slightly into thinking a condition that didn't quite fit my symptoms explained them all, not something exceedingly common but an Occam's razor kind of situation: "Plurality should not be posited without necessity" so maybe if I have relatively minor symptoms from this one thing, perchance, possibly it could explain the symptoms so severe that I fear I will die an early death. But that's not Occam's razor is. It isn't the attribute one thing to everything postulate, it's the idea that plurality should not be posited without necessity, not that plurality should never be posited whatsoever. So sometimes you need to trust yourself even when you think that you have exhausted every option to figure out what is wrong and what is right--- what is true and what isn't. Don't get me wrong, I still have plenty of debilitating symptoms from common conditions but sometimes you know the journey isn't over and maybe it's my obsessive or self-conscious or frantic nature but over the years, I've lost a lot of my fight (for a plethora of bad reasons) but you must question why there are so many people who aim to instill complacency because those people have something to gain. Often the power those people seek to gain is antithetical to an empowered populous, an empowered patient, someone with even the smallest bit of fight left in them. So keep being strong and annoying and a bitch because I can almost guarantee youre not as mean as you think you are. Keep being. I'll never forget a comment I got on a poem I wrote talking about how I just felt like everything about me was decaying with all sorts of related metaphors. The person said some kind things about my writing as a whole and then ended their comment with "you are so much more than rot on wood." It still gives me goosebumps to write it because the little acts of kindness and power we instill in one another each day mean something. There's a whole big world out there, and that simultaneously means that you can still avoid ever seeing your enemy again after they move to the same big city as you, but it also means that those times we don't want to disappear into the crowd, but struggle to stay steadfast, someone will find you. They say no one is coming to save you and that's true, but it also means that we must save each other, no superhero, no deus ex machina, just some people doing the best they can.
sometimes (most times!!!) disabled people just exist! sometimes we just exist n want to do stuff and just do that like nondisabled people! not everything we do be part of disability plan or care plan or accommodation or service or therapy! we just regular person existing!
if your first instinct to hear âdisabled ppl who do this should get toâ be âthat shouldnât be part of accommodation because [prejudice dress in social justice language]â then problem is YOU!
hi guys ask me about the show i just watched
My lord I need you to make up your mind, where the fuck are we going
my lord i think we're lost
my lord????
*wheezing* please....My Lord....I just caught up
My Lord COME BACK?!
MY LORD?? there is no way I can follow you there!
...all right My Lord [SIGH] I guess I will just have to trust you
my lord i WARNED you-
just got reminded of the time I overheard the psych nurses at the hospital I was in, complaining about how difficult the patients are. Like: fuck you. You're not the one imprisoned you're not the one having literally every right stripped from you You're not the one being forced on harmful drugs You're not the one being forced through abusive treatment These people literally had ELECTRICITY applied ESSENTIALLY TO MY BRAIN as a way to "treat" my allegedly existing "Bipolar Disorder"
so yeah genuinely if you're a psychiatrist or a psych nurse: I hope every second of your day is miserable Then you'll know a *fraction* of what you put us through
The 2026 Gender Census is now open!
[ survey.gendercensus.com ]
The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.
Itâs short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.
After the survey is closed Iâll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like weâre part of a huge and diverse community.
If you think you might have friends and followers whoâd be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!
Survey URL: https://survey.gendercensus.com
The survey is open to anyone anywhere who speaks English and feels that the gender binary doesnât fully describe their experience of themselves and their gender(s) or lack thereof.
Thank you so much!

PS: You can see some regularly-updated statistics about incoming data here, with lots of demography and graphs to peruse!
PPS: Image credits, bark and grass.
3am UK time is the quietest hour for the survey, probably because I'm very likely to be asleep and not doing any promotion!
So, I'm scheduling this for 3am to reach neglected time zones. Good [morning/afternoon/evening], folks. :)
