“Mrrgrr...” Selkie didn’t quite understand what went wrong. She could forgive his haphazard attempts at skinning the chicken; it wasn’t easy to get on your first try. She commended for at least being able to salvage the meat in the form of weirdly shaped lumps. But for seasoning, all she mentioned was needing salt.
So why did the chicken taste... oddly sweet? And cold, despite being on the grill until it was ( not purposefully ) charred black?
“I think it’s takes special skill to make something like... this. But that’s okay! This is okay! Next time, I’m sure it’ll still taste interesting... but in a good way! Maybe if I taught you how to make soup instead?”
