So basically my betta’s been exclusively on the floor for a few weeks now. I tried treating him for bloat and then I changed the water an extra time to reduce nitrates, but he hasn’t been feeling better. I even put some aquarium salt in. Just today I saw that the bumps on him are bigger than they were yesterday.

I need autistics’ opinions!

For anyone on the autism spectrum, what is your opinion on:

- restraining autistics and whether it matters if the autistic person is posing a physical threat

- threatening to take rewards/taking rewards from the autistic person’

- making autistics verbally convey their feelings so the autistic accommodates the adults

- reward systems where the autistic gains the possibility of earning a reward, but also has the ability of losing it

- people giving consequences to autistics for having meltdowns/panic attacks/tantrums because they’re screaming or acting “inappropriate”

- isolating autistics in a room or away from others because they behaved inappropriately

Also, what are some good alternatives for these things that are commonly done?

if someone you know has been suffering yet a doctor says nothing is wrong, which has happened to a majority of chronically ill people at some point, you have a choice. you can either believe the doctor that you probably never met, or believe the person suffering. and I cannot emphasize enough how absolutely damaging it is for a sick person to not be believed.
