————- I found this stray cat in my complex, I’ve been keeping an eye on him for a little under a year but these past few nights I’ve noticed he’s twice as skinny as the other cats in my complex, and has an awful wound on his paw. He’s covered in scabs that bleed if you pet him, but I’m not sure if it’s mange because I have not contracted it over months of seeing him prior to this and neither has my own cat. He seems fairly elderly and he has a copper or other dietary deficiency presumably, as he is a black cat and his fur is turning brown.

I am very worried for him because he seems to likely be FIV+ as an intact stray male. I would need to get him tested and fixed if that’s the car. He is extremely people friendly and loves to be petted and held in your lap. We have lots of younger and bigger strays around here, I’ve seen him get in some terrible fights before and at this point he looks starved to death while the other strays remain plump enough to pass as exercised house pets. His back paw has a huge abscess on the paw pad, and last time I saw him before it was just a bit enlarged, but it’s been a few months and it’s become bloody and oozing. He has respiratory sounds and eye discharge as well. I checked his gums and they were luckily pink. I need to take him to a vet. I am a 19 year old Elementary Education student in college, and I have no work currently due to overload from classes.

WHY I NEED HELP:

I don’t know what’s in store for him. It could be my worst nightmare. He could have FeLV and be unadoptable or need to be euthanized.

I can’t keep him here if he does, I have a cat already. I don’t even know if he likes other animals.

I cannot afford to help him. He needs bloodwork, medication, testing, vaccines, to be fixed, and I need to house and feed him. I have no recourses for this. I’m borrowing money from a friend to pay for at least $150 of work, but I know it will exceed this based on cost estimates. And I am so afraid for what I’m going to have to do to help him. He’s gotten progressively worse every time I have seen him over the past year, and it’s gotten to a point where so don’t think he can survive as a stray. He deserves a good life, even if it turns out he just has a few months left.

I’m excited to introduce a project my GF and I have been working on for the past few days: dragon plush cubes! Each cube is about 2.5 x 2.5 inches, not including the wings or tail.

Currently I have 3 up in my etsy shop, for $15 each! These are *first run* plushies, so they may have slight errors, though nothing that ruins the plush – what you see in the picture is how the plushie looks.

I plan to make more of these, but any more dragon cubes I make will be priced at $18.

I am accepting customs on these as well! Right now custom colors are $17, but once I put up the next round of plushies the custom price will increase to $20.
