I can't help but wonder about those homo sapiens and neanderthal hybrid children, and how they must have been raised and loved and been part of their community

I specifically picked a sapiens mother and neanderthal father because based on genetic studies that seems to have been the main source of neanderthal genes. Of course, it could be that the reverse just doesn't get preserved in the genome, or perhaps those hybrids weren't fertile. We also don't know if perhaps there were complications in a pregnancy like that, with skull and pelvis size playing a role. We might never know

we do know that however such matched happened, the babies were raised and loved and had families of their own. the human being is a social species, they would not have survived to pass on their genes without a community

also: apparently there is evidence of Neanderthals liking feathers for decoration. Along with cowrie shells they seem to have been values for their aesthetic
