Sanders, Schumer, Warren, Gallego, and all the other cowards who didn't throw everything they had at this motherfucker and are still backing him even now should resign and never speak in public again.
They have no balls. They won't challenge Bernie's anointed
They have no brains. They're willing to try and run this loser.
They have no integrity. They backed a man with none thinking that it was ok when the party demands more.
By now you might have seen some reports of SJP at University of Colorado Boulder celebrating the murder of 82 year old Karen Diamond. Here are some screenshots of the statement (that is still available on their website whose url is visible in the screenshots):
They’re disturbing so here’s a line break
This SJP chapter no longer receives funding from the school, but they do continue to organize regularly on campus.
Additionally, CU Boulder has a group of faculty and professors called FSJP . This organization is petitioning to have SJP reinstated as a student organization in good standing:
Update 2- To be clear, the statement is definitely still up at the link bouldersjp.neocities.org/mohamed, but I can’t navigate to it from their homepage.
In case they do take it down, I have downloaded the statement in full.
This is absolutely unacceptable speech from students enrolled in any university, and it’s even more disturbing that professors who condone this statement are teaching classes.

BOULDER STUDENTS FOR JUSTICE IN PALESTINE
STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY
One year ago today, on June 1st, 2025, Mohamed Sabry Soliman took direct action against one manifestation of the Zionist death cult that we have allowed to fester in our city and our state. He hurled a molotov cocktail into the heart of the Run for Their Lives march in Boulder, striking against the colonist procession that gathers weekly to celebrate the pretext for ongoing genocide.
A CASE OF CHICKENS COMING HOME TO ROOST.
The colonists present at the Run for Their Lives procession each week carry posters celebrating war criminals who have served as the pretext for the systematic extermination of the Palestinian people since Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. When community members confronted those at Run for Their Lives with cries of "Stop killing kids!", the marchers responded with proud declarations that they wished death upon every child in Gaza, while flanked comfortably with a police escort.
The state would have us believe that Mohamed took the action he did because he is insane—a fanatic, a terrorist, guilty of a hate crime—but we know the truth and we reject the state's inversion of it. Mohamed chose the only sane response available to a rational human being confronted with the normalization of genocide. He refused the comfortable position of the grateful immigrant and the role of obedient subject, choosing confrontation with a violent system over passive proximity to the comfort of empire.
We reject the distinction between speech and material force. The Run for Their Lives procession functions as a mechanism for normalizing the celebration of mass killers, rendering ordinary the sight of war criminals treated as heroes on streets that sit upon stolen land. Mohamed refused their normalization with direct action. He chose to treat the manifestation of Zionist violence as the lethal threat it actually constitutes.
Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine stands in solidarity with Mohamed Sabry Soliman. We condemn the eight consecutive life sentences imposed by Colorado courts early last month. We condemn all attempts by the federal government to assassinate him. We honor a man who sacrificed his comfort and his proximity to empire, willingly expending his own liberty in attaining his objective.
We unequivocally condemn the federal agencies that seized his family within hours of his arrest and imprisoned them for nearly one year until their release last month. The seizure of Mohamed's family by ICE reveals immigration enforcement as an instrument of collective punishment—a tactic of the colonizer applied here as it is in Gaza.
Prosecutors added hate crime and terrorism enhancements to Mohamed's charges—the same legal mechanisms consistently deployed against Arabs and Muslims in the United States since 2001. These charges demand that observers view resistance to genocide as equivalent to the systematic extermination of the Palestinian people. We reject this framework utterly. The hatred here lies not with Mohamed, but with a legal order that characterizes resistance to genocide as "terror" while legitimizing the actual terror of the state.
No court exists within the imperial legal order to try the officers and politicians responsible for the systematic destruction of Gaza. Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine affirms that the Palestinian Resistance stands as the sole legitimate authority capable of delivering accountability for the genocidal actions of the Zionist entity. Mohamed acted alone on June 1st, compelled by the grisly realities of a war against his people and the absolute refusal of formal channels to deliver anything resembling justice.
DEMAND RELEASE
Call for the immediate release of Mohamed and the continued freedom of his family from all forms of state custody.
ABOLISH ICE
Join the call for total abolition of the agencies that kidnapped his family and operate as instruments of collective punishment.
CONTINUE THE STRUGGLE
His act of resistance obligates us to maintain unyielding opposition against every structure that normalizes occupation while enabling genocide.

The 250 year anniversary of the USA is coming up and normally I’d join in on the hype for fun because no matter how critical you are of your country a little performative flag waving is fun sometimes but I’m not really feeling it this year even more than usual.
Which is a shame because the US flag is such a good design to make quilts out of. Like if I were gonna make a US flag quilt this would be the year to do it but alas. The everything.
Stricken by a weird conflict of emotion on this one. I like to consider myself patriotic in the sense that I love this land and would like to see this country become a much more wonderful place than it is now. I value the people, the culture, the diversity. Everything. But. I've had my American flag upside down for a while now. I don't think it'd be right to celebrate our birthday while the country is being ripped to shreds by pedophile oligarchs.
That sounds like a great reason to put on your tricorn hat and read the Declaration of Independence.

Organisers claimed Keshet Italia had failed to ‘distance itself from the ongoing genocide’
A decision by Rome Pride to ban Italy’s only Jewish LGBT group unless it condemns Israel’s actions in Gaza, has been called "madness" by the organisation’s president.
Organisers of the festival, which is set to take place on June 20, announced that Keshet Italia, as well as Keshet Europe, would not be allowed to have an official float on the day unless they express “a clear and unequivocal stance condemning the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government”.
"Anyone who shares the founding values of our movement and our community can join us in the streets,” read a statement from organisers.
“Participation of a float in the Roma Pride therefore presupposes — regardless of the sexual orientation, identity, religion, ethnicity, or nationality of those aboard — a clear and unequivocal stance condemning the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government.
"We are fully capable of distinguishing between the Israeli government and the Jewish community, made up of both LGBTQIA+ and non-LGBTQIA+ people, and we could never attribute to the latter responsibility for the criminal acts of war carried out by a genocidal government.
"We do, however, hold Keshet Italia responsible for having failed, and continue to fail, to distance itself from the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”
Keshat Italia condemned the threat, saying: “There is no Pride if minorities are excluded. Pride has become an ideological tribunal that expels minorities and has lost its soul. We do not accept lessons in rights from those who practice identity-based exclusion.”
The group also said that it was being subject to a political test to prove it is “worthy” of attending.
Ariel Heller, the president of Keshet Italia, told Israel’s public broadcaster Kan: “As Jews, we are not responsible for everything that the government of another country does.
“This was just a way for them to remove our organisation and our community. This is Europe in 2026, and Jews still have to fear taking part in a Pride parade in Italy. It is madness.”
Combat Antisemitism Movement’s (CAM) executive director of European affairs, Shannon Seban, also commented on the move by Rome Pride, saying: “We strongly condemn the exclusion of Jewish [LGBT] groups Keshet Italia and Keshet Europe from the Rome Pride parade.
“When Pride excludes Jews, it betrays Pride itself.
“No community should be forced to renounce its identity or its connection to its homeland in order to march in a Pride parade. Jewish [LGBT] individuals have every right to participate without censorship or ideological loyalty tests.”

From the blog of Steven Fine at The Times of Israel
Generations of Jews have looked on the Arch of Titus reliefs of the Temple vessels entering Rome, and contemplated the destruction of Jerusalem— the start of our long exile. Great rabbis, scholars and simple Jews have come to Rome— or dreamt of coming to see this sight. Freud wrote from here to a friend ”the Jew survives it!” Others murmured to themselves, “Titus you’re gone, but we’re still here, Am Yisrael Chai.”
(there are so many horrible things from Stew Peters and Jake Shields that are even worse than what’s screencapped here, it’s staggering. you can look for yourselves, but tbh I don’t recommend it.)

this could go on with endless examples, but for a bunch of people who claim they “notice” patterns, it’s notable that they aren’t recognizing what’s happened to themselves.
I’m acutely aware that scrolling around to document this garbage does next to nothing other than record it (and spike my stress levels lol), and the futility is frustrating/angering/frightening/saddening in varying measures every day.
but we’re being gaslit that this isn’t happening, and I refuse to be a party to the questions later of, “how did that happen?”
How does it get this bad? I don't understand what happened on the left. Not the Neonazi right side that I grew up expecting to encounter as a non Jewish southern woman.
But the left was supposedly sane? Where the people who supported other religions and races and cultures were.
But now it isn't. When did it happen? Why did happen?
I have thoughts on this, some are evidence based and some are slightly more theoretical, but stay with me. there are articles and studies and books about all of the following that I could add but I’m so exhausted I can’t dig them all up right now, my apologies for that. I will try to include some links that I can remember.
first and foremost, antisemitism is a constant feature of society. it is millennia old, useful, and malleable to fit in any time period where it’s needed, because it is conspiracy based.
“Author Yossi Klein Halevi has identified it perfectly. Throughout history, he said, “The Jew” was always used in order to describe whatever it is that is most loathsome in a society at any given moment. In the early days of Christianity “The Jew” was the Christ killer, under Nazism “The Jew” was the ultimate race polluter, at the time of communism “The Jew” was the capitalist pig, or the communist, depending on who you’re asking.
“The Jew” was simply a cipher onto which the antisemite could project whatever it was that they considered to be the ultimate evil.”
This is a transcript of a speech that was presented to the Inter-Parliamentary Task Force to Combat Online Antisemitism at the U.S. Congress
it’s always there and always informing a certain level of discourse, but sometimes it’s less severe than at other points. we had an unusual reprieve from it in Western countries following the horrors of the Holocaust. antisemitism became more widely recognized and more taboo after the industrialized murder of six million Jews, but only while it was vivid in living memory. as those who witnessed WWII firsthand have passed away, and as we have lost more and more survivors (our only survivors now were very small children when it happened, and while that doesn’t in any way diminish their experiences, the memories from a very young child versus those who survived as teens and adults are less detailed). Holocaust denial has risen steadily the further we’ve gotten from it, and Holocaust education has plummeted over the last decade or so. the more it becomes a problem of the past, the less willing people are to feel compassion towards it.
antisemitism runs in cycles. every century or so it tends to get very bad again, as people forget whatever atrocities were carried out against Jews before (not limited to the Holocaust in this case). antisemitism also tends to spike when there is social upheaval, uncertainty, and unrest, and political turmoil. people need someone to blame, and it’s hard to let go of the favorite centuries’ old scapegoat.
in the United States specifically, there was a cultural golden age of Jewish culture and visible excellence and success throughout the 20th century. this was true in science and technology and academia, but for many people it was most seen in the arts. Jewish composers, musicians, actors, writers were celebrated and created beloved art for decades. Hollywood to Broadway. film and television. this succeeded in creating a more positive and welcoming view of American Jews in many ways. that age is over, and it’s why I tend to harp on representation and how easily Jews are now erased, both from that rich history (you can make a biopic about a Jew, played by a non-Jew, and never mention they were Jewish at all, for example), and from current media.
the right wing has their Neo-Nazism and Jewish supremacy ZOG conspiracies, but the left wing didn’t really adopt that thinking as pervasively until Jews became folded into and then made the pinnacle example of “white oppressors.” this, too, is remixed scapegoating.
there has been a concerted, funded, decades long effort to thread this through higher education and NGOs. this is the part most won’t believe and dismiss as conspiratorial, but we have the evidence of it happening. the Muslim Brotherhood, the ideological alliance of Soviet antizionism/Islamist movements, and Qatari money have influenced the entire apparatus of Western academia, mainstream media, and NGOs for decades, and the fomenting of hatred against Jews (and Israel) has been a central driving goal. everything from the Durban conference (the UN) to the uncovered situation with organizations like Oxfam to the current crisis of Jew hatred at Columbia University is interconnected because of the driving force that has desired this outcome. detailing all of this would take a novel, and many books have been written studying it, so I can’t do the extent and depth of it justice here. you can read some about the in intentional manipulation of academia in this post.
I am very opposed to conspiracism because it’s almost always dangerously rooted in violent antisemitism, so when I say this has taken work, wealth, and intent from powerful individuals and organizations, it’s not a frivolous accusation.
the war. October 7th, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, unleashed a level of violent hatred that, for those of us who are millennials and younger, had not been experienced in our lifetimes. it was growing there - and always there - in the background and under the surface, and hindsight makes it much easier to see in the years preceding this (cultural ostracism, things like Magen Davids being banned at the Women’s March and at pride marches for years before 10/7, or, again, the institutional antisemitism that was creeping its way indelibly across campuses and deeply embedding as a key feature of leftist politics, disguised as social justice).
the war, which has undoubtedly been devastating, has been beamed on people’s screens, graphically, and often doused with toxic disinformation, blood libel, etc, for over two years. more and more people get their news from social media like TikTok, which has been inundated with this, and the hatred has inherently accompanied it. bias and malpractice from the mainstream media certainly hasn’t helped.
the omnicause thus has become a cultural obsession, and Gaza has been imbued with a kind of religious fervor (seen quite often in the use of Jesus imagery, literally and figuratively). many young people who are not religious but are searching for meaning tend to latch onto causes to give themselves purpose, which can be a positive thing, but in this instance there’s a fervor and rage that has become so detrimentally intertwined with everything they absorb, believe, and repeat that the Jew hatred is impossible to untangle from the latent good humanitarian impulse. it has become a cult mentality, so locked into its beliefs and demand for obedience in thought and action that it is blasphemous to ask questions or break the narrative in any way, for fear of being branded a heretic (in this case, a “Zionist,” an accusation and slur flung with the venom that used to hang those accused of being a witch, a fury which still leads to the slaughter of those branded infidels).
and that leads directly to perhaps one of the most noxious aspects of this: the popularity of the celebrities, influencers, and grifters suddenly having so much power to shape the conversation. this is an aspect I personally find quite terrifying, as many accounts have cultivated millions of followers and millions of views, often in numbers far outstripping the entire Jewish population of the world. this is where we get the Hasan Pikers and Ana Kasparians and Nick Fuenteses and Candace Owenses of the world, and they’ve discovered that not only is Jew hatred heady, giving them a sense of power and superiority, it is also wildly lucrative and they’re making a fortune on it.
things like Charlie Kirk’s shooting being turned into a rabid antisemitic conspiracy (despite this being easily debunked) and the Epstein files (which is where we’re now getting a LOT of the increase in rhetoric like “baby eating blood drinkers,” as if this isn’t ancient hatred), and the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not only the key support and funder of genocidal antisemitic terror groups (Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis), but is also a key source of antisemitic propaganda for the globe, is ramping it up exponentially.
so, yeah, it’s a confluence of a lot of terrible things.

This has been going for decades with the same language and talking points. It just took qatari funded soviet and nazi agitprop this long to reach a 'vigrin field' of "People who Didn't grow up around WWII vets"
Antisemitism that shocked even a Holocaust survivor marked the 2001 World Conference Against Racism, which the UN honored with a 20th-annive
In 1985, the KGB-supervised Anti-Zionist Committee of the Soviet Public, known by its Russian acronym as AKSO, issued a brochure, Criminal Alliance of Zionism and Nazism.[i] The brochure reported on a press conference that the Committee had held some months earlier. The site for the press conference, the press center of the Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicated the official blessing of the messages AKSO had to deliver. The brochure was translated into English and distributed abroad by Novosti Press Agency, a news service and an important arm of Soviet foreign propaganda.
A propagandistic document reporting on a propagandistic event, the brochure painted a harrowing picture of Zionism. Senior members of the AKSO, most of whom were prominent Soviet Jews (an intentional choice on the part of the KGB, meant to deflect accusations of antisemitism) claimed that they had irrefutable proof of Zionist co-operation with the Nazis. They described Zionists as facilitators of Nazi expansionism, accused them of falsely inflating the significance of antisemitism and Jewish victimhood in World War II, and claimed that the 1930s agreement that permitted the transfer of 60,000 German Jews to Palestine had made it ‘easier for the Nazis to unleash World War II.’ They claimed that Zionists had colluded ‘in the genocide against the “Slavs, Jews and some other peoples of Europe”.’ Speakers concluded by rejecting, in advance, any attempts by ‘pro-Zionist press’ to represent the committee’s assertions as antisemitic; disassociated Zionists from Jews; and promised that Zionism would never succeed in repudiating the ‘historical reality’ of cooperation between the Zionists and the Nazis.
The brochure might have read as a shocking smear that distorted history had it not been an integral part of a massive Soviet anti-Zionist campaign that entered a particularly active stage in 1967. Its language reflects its epoch – one marked by Cold War tensions, propagandistic jargon that permeated all aspects of Soviet public life, and virulent demonisation of Israel and Zionism. Alleged Zionist-Nazi collaboration and false equivalence between the two were among the campaign’s centerpieces.

Götz Aly spent years in Nazi financial archives. His conclusion: the Holocaust functioned partly as a welfare program for ordinary Germans.
I'm shouting into the void here but I need to get it out.
I don't label my politics, but I'm what someone would call on the left. I spent my teenage years when Tumblr social justice was at its height. I learned things, checked my own biases, and I would like to think became a more empathetic person because of what I learnt from online progressive spaces.
The way these spaces have treated Jewish communities over the past 2.5 years has been nothing short of fucking appalling.
The worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust was minimised, denied, justified, or outright celebrated.
Jewish people were immediately told to put their grief and trauma over this to away, because Palestine's pain was more important to talk about.*
Jewish and Israeli people were told they needed to try and understand why armed men raped, tortured, and killed members of their community. Because, you know, the murderous rapists are who we need to have sympathy for here. Anyone can be pushed to the point of, I don't know, murdering a young woman and parading her corpse around a street for men to spit on her dead body. If you really think about it, isn't that actually kind of an understandable thing to do?
When raising concerns over the rising antisemitism that was starting to look a lot like the build-up to that little historical tidbit called The Holocaust, Jews were told they were selfish for raising the issue.
When asking people not to call for intifadas that have historically resulted in thousands of dead Jews, they're told they're taking it all the wrong way.
When Israeli victims spoke of the abuse they received on Oct 7 and in captivity, they're told they need to stay silent because otherwise they risk justifying the genocide of Palestinians.
When 15 people were murdered at a Hannukah festival, there were no social media icons, no surge from progressive groups to find out what support they needed.
To be clear here, progressive groups seem more concerned with antisemitism in the Harry Potter books than they are about the actual, you know, string of dead Jews that have been murdered over the past few years. If you condemn antisemitic representations in diction and then turn around and completely ignore real-life fucking murder, then I'm sorry I genuinely do not think you ever gave a shit about fighting antisemitism, you just wanted to fight Jk Rowling. **
Absolutely fuck everyone who has justified or denied what happened on Oct 7th. There were ways to advocate for both Israeli and Palestinian victims, but the people who should have known better have ensured that Oct 7th wasn't just one day of hell for Jewish communities, but that its been currently 2.5 years of hell that seems to just be getting worse.
And the most infuriating part is the people who did justify Oct 7th will never admit they were wrong, because that would mean admitting they argued that the murder rape mutilation torture and kidnap of a Jewish community was acceptable, and that would break their brains. I mean it. The cognitive dissonance between believing you are someone who cares for human rights, whilst also being someone who justified all of that, is too great. The brain will always protect itself. Its why people are currently doubling down on there being no rapes on Oct 7th. Rape is not resistance, it is not self defence, it is not landback, it is not right of return, it is not decolonisation, it is not any of the shit people tell themselves Oct 7th was. Rape is just rape. It is just men torturing people (mainly women) for no other reason than because they enjoy it. You will never see these people admitting rape occurred, because the second they do is the second they realise just how horrifically they have behaved.
And it's not getting better. Hate crimes and murders of worldwide Jewish communities are rising. Jewish people are looking to leave places like the US, UK and Australia, which were once considered some of the safest places for them to live. A KKK slur (zio) is now common online usage. Jewish people are expected to sever any connection to an important part of their culture (Israel/Hebrew) in order to be treated somewhat civily. The more IDF crimes are uncovered in Gaza, the more worldwide Jewish communities bear the brunt of the anger. Typing 'Jewish' into any social media brings you into an absolute clusterfuck of the most horrific things you can possibly see people say about their fellow human beings.
I am just sick and exhausted and furious and it feels like I'm hitting my fists against a brick wall that is not knocking down. How do you even get people to realise how bad this is????
I am not Jewish. I know full well that Jewish people talking about all of this get ignored. I know full well that a Jewish person standing up for Palestine gets thousands of notes, and a Jewish person standing up for their own people barely breaks 100. I know full well that Jewish people are being smeared as paranoid or crazy or selfish. I know full well that non-Jewish people speaking up about antisemitism is taken more seriously than Jewish people talking about their own experiences.
Can you all just start fucking having some fucking empathy for Jewish and Israeli communities who have been facing the worst 2 years of their lives. Fucking please. It is not that fucking hard to feel empathy for lots of groups at once. To empathise with both Palestine and Israel, Muslims and Jews. Empathy for all is part of what brings us away from just being animals and makes us human.
If you can't do it, it is not an issue with Jews or Israelis or Zionists or the IDF, it is an issue with you.
*I am not saying Palestinian pain isn't important to raise awareness of, and the people fearing what the IDF would do immediately after Oct 7th were right to raise it. I'm saying asking Jewish communities to take on the trauma of Palestinians, when they were still reeling from their own inter-community trauma, was wrong and unhelpful. I wouldn't ask Palestinian communities to have centered the trauma of Oct 7th either. Trauma is not a competition and everyone deserves to have their respective pain treated fairly.
**also not saying that Rowling shouldn't be criticized, because she is awful, but that real-life massacres and rapes of Jews is sort of a bigger priority than bad representation in the Harry Potter books, and that if you can't understand that then...yeah. you didn't actually care about jewish people at all.
NY Democratic Congressional Candidate Brad Lander Recites Quran Verse at Queens Mosque, Says He Hopes to Partner in Congress with Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib; Imam Prays for Mahdi to Kill Infidels with His Sword
I think you're countering an argument nobody made.
Nobody is saying Landers belongs to a faith with texts that say terrible things.
Atheists have their own genocidal baggage (Stalin, Mao, etc)
Landers is lying when he calls himself a proud Jew. His casual use of slurs and libels demonstrate that.
Landers campaigns in a mosque by paying lip service and says he wants a society where everyone's humanity is respected - then the service itself demonstrates a belief system that isn't egalitarian and doesn't believe all peoples are equally human.
I haven't once been at Synagogue and heard (in any language) a ritualized reading of hopes for the death of those who are not Jews.
I've been to many Churches - Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, non-denominational Greek Orthodox, Pentecostal and others...and not once did I hear them pray for the death of non-Christians.
"Through your hands comes the relief for the believers and the killing of the infidels by your sword."
If a recitation at a Christian, Jewish, or Hindu worship service called for the death of those who do not share their faith, they'd rightly be decried as supremacists and bigots.

The kabbalistic false messiah By Matt Plen
@dappercat123
I've politely called out your reddit-tier atheism before. It's not constructive or helpful in discussions like this because you are not meaningfully engaging with the issue at hand in favor of going "Lol Holy books say horrible shit, so atheists are better"
It's a hair from the simplistic "Lol Sky Fairy/Leviticus Gay bashing" shit I've seen for decades at this point and it's not germane to the discussion.
Someone who represents himself as an ostensibly progressive and more secular Jewish Democrat is participating in an extremist Islamic space and with people who would see the rest of us dead. Two of them are US congresspeople.
Religion and politics are inextricably linked and appear in different hues and colors that have to be understood in order to engage with WHY this bothers people so much.
Ironically, you're engaging in, effectively Evangelical atheism by 'testifying' in favor of your own belief system.
(You're treating unbelief like a belief system and using it to cudgel people who are, generally, fine with athiests because the good ones don't try to convert us. Nobody likes a doorknocker 'spreading the good word, especially when we didn't ask for it to begin with.)
I personally think Brad Lander is a self-promoting useful idiot who never met a coreligionist he didn't want to step on for more fame and he's currently struggling with having boosted Mamdani before being ignored by him.
I mean I never said he wasn’t a bigot, but from my understanding they where quoting a prayer from their book but if I misunderstood the original post I apologize, and I have seen many Christian’s prey for the downfall of their enemies, they do it all the time.
Idk maybe you’re taking that verse out of context. Isn’t that the usual explanation?
Brad Lander is a progressive Jew who doesn't know shit about fuck and never met another Jew he wouldn't step on or a fanatic he wouldn't embrace for more attention, and the thing that shows what an idiot he is is that he read something that he didn't understand on behalf of someone who wanted him and us dead.
You stepped into a post about a Jew selling out other Jews for the approval of a subset of Muslims who want us dead because he's too stupid to ask what he's readingto lecture us about the violence of religious rhetoric that you have heard because
"I have seen many Christian’s prey for the downfall of their enemies, they do it all the time."
You decided to interject into a Jew talking about an issue with a fellow Jew as it relates to Muslim extremism by applying your experience with Christianity to advocate, and evangelize about your belief in atheism.
As I've said before you are applying the mechanics of Christian cultured atheism
(As In, your experience with christianity allows you to speak on translation, Judaism, Islam, and politics, in an informed enough manner to lecture Jews discussing other Jews about how Atheism is better.)
Bad look. Bad Marketing.
Fair enough, my point about context still feels relevant given how often that is said when atheists point out bad things in holy books. But I admit relative overall ignorance.
Cooking basic stuff doesn't require a ton of herbs and spices. Also, they can be found cheap. Also, once you have them they last a long time. I've had a full spice cabinet since I was 18. Like. You can get staples on hand.
Actually this is insane I'm not even entertaining the rest of these points
Cooking is absolutely a skill that requires some effort in terms of time money energy. But like. It's a survival skill.
If you can only cook simple cheap dishes then you can put in the effort to find and learn simple cheap dishes.
But like. Cooking is a skill that pays off. Once you know how to cook something you can do it forever. You can learn meal planning and substitutions. You can make up your own recipes.
When my mom and I were poor as dirt when I was a kid, she'd just make buttered noodles because that's all we could afford. We didn't order takeout.
Now that I'm an adult that can cook anything your heart desires? And has fed crowds for Thanksgiving and Yom Kippur breakfast?
My go to meal each week is just... Baked chicken breast or fish. Whatever was on sale. Then some kind of roasted fresh veg or microwaved can veg. I cook for an hour on Sunday and eat for the week.
Yeah learning to cook on my own was hard and intimidating and it sucked and took me a couple years and sometimes I'd fuck up and make something incredible and end up wasting money and ordering pizza.
But it's so fucking worth it. I can make good food and plan and eat cheaper and healthier. It's a skill for life.
"I need to cook at home, but I'm not even sure how to make authentic khao poon, and coconut milk and fresh basil are so expensive! And I won't even have enough basil left over to make pine nut pesto, so I'll have to buy more when I buy the pinoli!"
Actual poor meals: Noodles with garlic & sesame oil. Pasta with a can of Hunts tomato sauce. Pasta cooked in V8. Rice and beans. Pancakes for dinner. Etc. Etc. Etc.
While we're talking cooking:
What are some good budget veggies and/or fruits to complement (oven baked) chicken and either (pot boiled) pasta or (rice cooker) rice?
I've been getting (bagged) carrots and (fresh) tomatoes and (fresh, non-spicy) colored peppers lately, but I'm not sure if there's something else I'm missing out on.
Okay, so. Star Wars has all these concepts that weirdo New Left boomer George Lucas tosses in there but because of storyteller limitations it would kill the plot to fully explain them all, so later writers have to come in for the spin-off materials and bat clean-up to fully explain all this crazy crap. And I would like to talk about something that made me actively angry at first, but which I now adore. And that is the Naboo.
So much about Naboo culture is infuriating from a logical standpoint. They have a queen, okay. A constitutionally elected queen? Weird, okay. Don't know why they'd do that but... She's FOURTEEN? Excuse me? Is it a ceremonial thing or, oh no it's not? Legit head of state? Why does she dress like that? Why does she talk like that? I'm so tired.
Here's the explainer. Let me go cook.
There's this joke in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy where the last living human goes back in time and finds out humans aren't actually from Earth, but an alien culture that tricked all the middle managers, pedantic weirdos, and other infuriating folk into getting in a space arc which they gave the wrong evacuation coordinates to simply get rid of them. The Naboo are like this but they're all artists and poets and hippies, but like classy ones. They fled their home planet during a war and crash landed on Naboo, then did a colonism to the Gungans because, hey, they were fleeing a war and it was do or die. This spiritual rot in their creation story is later rectified by Padmé. But it's super important to their cultural psychology. They're hippies, but will subjugate if needed. They are "peaceful" but I guarantee you every single one of them has a tiny extremely shiny pistol up their sleeve and they will draw down on you if backed against a wall.
The scene that I think says it all is at the end of Phantom Menace when Padmé is surrounded by Nute Gunray and his droids, they've got her dead to rights, but Sabé her double creates a distraction so the queen can make it to her throne. This one piece of furniture is the Naboo in a nutshell. It's richly carved with artistic details, it has two seats to the side so the queen's handmaidens can read the lips of people in the back of the room and use hand signals to communicate with the queen while she can remain focused mostly on who is speaking to her. It is hundreds of years old. And it has a secret compartment in the armrest that is FULL OF GUNS. Layers of artistic opulence hiding their true intentions.
The Naboo were created to be backwards compatible with Princess Leia. They're compassionate pacifists, but they will shot you if needed.
Why do they elect teenage royalty? It's a little creepy. It's giving "age of consent is emotional maturity". It makes no sense.
The explanation they give outsiders is they want youthful idealism untainted by cynicism. What they don't tell you is that they take kids with stated interest in politics and put them in an advanced highly competitive Leadership Academy which is like Model UN mixed with Battle Royale. Well, they don't kill each other but it's intense. It's like what the clones went though just all diplomacy training and tea ceremonies all the time. Which is crazy but so Naboo.
Oh, and all the delegates for the royalty election run using pseudonyms for security. Imagine voting for the head of state but you can't run a background check. It's so crazy.
Why does Padmé dress like that? Well, fashion is one of Naboo's major industries so it's like she's wearing the entire Fall line catalog at once. To advertise not only the talent of her people, but to show how much they favor her. BUT that dress has multiple layers of padding and resin armor. And aforementioned spots for those little silver blasters. And it breaks up her silhouette making her harder to shoot. And it's so elaborate you pay more attention to the crazy dress and not if the person wearing it is really the queen or a decoy. Everything about Naboo is like this.
Queen Amidala has that weird accent while Padmé does not. Because all her handmaidens helped create the accent together so they all can imitate it. It's like if you gave girls at a rowdy sleepover the job of federal counterintelligence. That's what they came up with.
The handmaidens wear colorful identical clothes so you can't tell them apart, hoods to partially conceal their identity, and they don't wear the queen's fancy makeup. So one of them can be the queen and spy on people in the audience. Because the Naboo don't trust shit for shit.
Their public face is so silly to hide all the truly weird shit they do behind the scenes.
They use their reputation as artist hippies to conceal multiple layers of subterfuge and disguise their methods of self defense and assuage their paranoia due to wartime trauma and their disturbing colonial past. All of them are completely off their rocker even by Star Wars standards. And I love them so much. They put on a show so everyone thinks they have them figured out but what they have going on is far more weirder and more sinister than meets the eye. You know how catty, neurotic, and competitive art school students stereotypically are? Yeah, planet art student. Love them!
THE CHOICE IS CLEAR
When I was young my grandmother used to ask me, “If you’re so smart, why aren’t you rich?” I’d like to ask a similar question of those who are now saying to the black community: “Don’t bother to vote. It makes no difference who wins.” If this advice made sense, then after all the years we didn’t (couldn’t) vote, we should be fully free.
Who are the nonvoters? By and large, they are poor and low-income people, including Negroes. They are the people who get the worst deal in this society. On the other hand, those who vote generally have higher incomes and better educations. They get the best deal—which is why they vote. They have their stake and they mean to keep it.
That’s why there’s nothing radical (or very smart) about the so-called radicals who are telling us to “go fishing” on election day. Their line sounds tough and cynical, but it’s just a hot-air prescription for another expensive round of white power by default. Maybe some of the soap-boxers can afford a four-year dose of conservative rule, but the man in the street cannot.
-- Bayard Rustin, September 1968
you DO know what the nakba was, right? I mean, the slaughter of the native Palestinians by jewish-supremacists? The truth of the matter is that Israel is an apartheid state, and that any ethno-nationalist state is a blight upon humanity, something which is even more sour when you consider that most of these terrorists came from other areas of the world. Palestinians had nothing to do with the horrors of Europe, and yet its always treated as ay oh kay that they were slaughtered then and slaughtered now for a genocide they had nothing to do with. Its not anti white to hate Britain and America for their atrocities and its not anti Jewish to hate Israel for their’s. MLK was right when he said that the most disappointing obstruction to progress is the white moderate, the liberal. There is a better way. for all of us. And it starts with stopping all ongoing colonial efforts. Peace, and piss off.
I'd believe you more that you hate "ethnostates" if you applied any of that to the surrounding Arab states running on slave economies, but for some gosh-darn reason you never have any energy for the UAE or Qatar. You're never calling for them to be dismantled despite the fact that only about 12% of people living in Qatar are citizens according to law. So let's please just cut the bullshit. You don't believe what you're spewing. Just join the KKK and be done with it already.
Also, MLK was talking about white leftists when he was talking about white liberals, and he supported Israel, so.
Kinda hilarious when people try 'Jews are European colonisers' material without updating the visual language from 1930s Germany. Like, yeah, we need to get these beady-eyed, curly-haired, hooked-nosed, swarthy, bearded invaders out of *checks notes* the middle east.
