Hi! I'm Rožle, a student of ecology, born in the world-changing year of 1989. This blog is about science, technology, innovation and a grain of politics and things that are close to my heart. Towards the ocean

The Milky Way in the evening twilight appears over the Atlantic Ocean from the Pointe de Pen-Hir in the Brittany, France. A nearby town brightens the sky from behind the left side cliffs but the night sky towards the ocean is unspoiled of light pollution.

This is going to be good. The upcoming debate has already garnered a good deal of media attention, with some secularists criticizing Nye for debating Ham at all, speculating that the debate will give Ham’s ideas a sense of legitimacy that he doesn’t deserve.

You don't solve a problem by ignoring it. Especially not a problem that can endanger the well-being and progress of the human species. Such debates are long overdue - if they generate great media attention even better!

Arsenic is a natural poison to humans. It inhibits the production of ATP in cells which in turn leads to multiple organ failure. Typical symptoms are diarrhea, cramps, convulsions and vomiting. However, simply adding one proton to the element and it becomes selenium; a vital trace element required in cells for redox enzymes. Quite literally the difference between a poison and nourishment is a single proton. This is why chemistry is awesome.
