good vibes here!
I've started a daily photo diary for trich, and to me it is really encouraging. May seem self-absorbed, but trust me, they aren't particularly flattering portraits (no makeup, puffy morning eyes). I love to see progress visually, and this way I am more accountable for my pulling. I'm aiming to develop a stream of photos that show hair growth, but I won't be hard on myself if I slip up. That's all part of the process. I'll just keep going until I see some change. I think the biggest benefit is the thought in the back of my mind that if I pull, I will see it visually in tomorrow's photo. It just provides some extra motivation to be stronger, and willpower is something I often struggle with.
Unwholesome action, hurting self, comes easily. Wholesome action, healing self, takes effort.

hey carrie so i dont know if you will have heard of this but i have a condition called trichotillomania which causes me to pull out my hair and its really stressing me out so i was just wondering if there is any way you could send a tweet asking if anyone else understands? thank you xxx
I know exactly the place/person you’d love! Beckie0. She also has Trichotillomania and her videos are hugely inspiring! youtube.com/beckie0 She’s also on Twitter and I’m sure she’d love to hear from you! :D
xxx
This made me laugh at first but it is actually rather grounding and keeps your hands busy at the same time... Check out Brad Yates' Emotional Freedom Techniques on YouTube if you're interested :)

Tapping For Anxiety
Energy Tapping (also called Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT) can bring you quick, effective RELIEFfrom stress, anxiety, overwhelm, pain and suffering, distressing thoughts, disturbing memories, and limiting beliefs.
Have you ever seen someone rub their forehead when they were stressed? Or clutch the base of their throat when shocked? Hold their heart when it is breaking? And of course, we pat babies to soothe them when they are upset.
Touch is comforting. We’re wired for it.
Tapping is a gentle form of soothing touch.

Last night I took my little sister to a concert, which was fantastic. But I noticed that I couldn't keep my hands still the whole time (should've got those floor tickets and danced the night away instead). I was watching my sister, sitting there perfectly calm, and I thought to myself "Why can't I do that?". I actually tested myself to see if I could last the length of a song without moving my hands. Nope, wasn't going to happen. It got me thinking: I really need to practice stillness. Perhaps meditation could help with this? Perhaps a bit of mindfulness every morning is the way to go? I wonder if there are any meditations which would be beneficial for people with Trichotillomania...
cranessssssssssssssssssssss
there’s about 450 I think
the paper’s only 5x5cm so they’re super cute and tiny
and I have five different packs of paper so none of them are boring
I love my tiny cranes
This is what my housemate does to keep her hands busy :'D <3
I’m such a nice girl, I’m so sick of being fuckzoned!!!!!!!
What’s the fuckzone you ask? it’s this zone that guys put you in where they only want to fuck you; they don’t want to have a friendship with you and they aren’t satisfied with emotional commitment, they just want sex!!!!!
I’m a nice girl!!!! Stop putting me in the fuckzone!!!!!!!
omfg yes
That is the best answer to that “friendzone” bullshit I have ever read.
Trich update: my eyebrows are growing back and filling in well but no eyelashes I keep picking without realising but I think I’m improving in covering it up. If not my hair distracts people from my face haha
Picking my skin and hair has been a huge problem for me—until now.
Hey Guys. Was anyone else super excited to see an article about Trich/Derma in Teen Vogue?!?! I know I was! I don’t think they focused on Trich as much as I would have liked but just getting the name of the disorder out there to Vogue’s readers is enough for me! Check out the article and tell me what you guys think!
