guys we're running out of time
I love in grace kelly when mika says he tried "a little freddie" bc it's like mika we are all friends here. let us be honest with one another. there is no way that the amount of freddie that you tried was "a little"
Not all construction work is equally enjoyable. For example, enlarging a drilled hole is boring, but fastening pieces of metal together is riveting.
hey can i be honest. i wish i could go the entire rest of my fucking life never seeing anything about the movie Elf ever again
that time of the year 🎄🐈
for everyone saying modern-day Ebenezer Scrooge would participate heavily in the commercialization of Christmas and love that time of year because his profits go up: first, you're so right
second: watch the movie Scrooged with Bill Murray
Murray plays Frank Cross, a greedy TV exec who's obsessed with having high ratings, planning to do a live broadcast of A Christmas Carol with lots of sex and violence to get more people to watch, but refuses to go to his brother's for Christmas (or even give him a decent present), give his assistant the night off, or give to charity. he even fires a guy for politely disagreeing with him the night before Christmas Eve.
Cross is visited by the ghost of his old boss who warns him that if he keeps going down this path, bad things await him after death, and well, you know the story.
if you like dark comedy in the vein of Heathers or Clue, you'll like this. it was made in the 80s and I rewatched it last night and it really holds up. (a few jokes didn't age well, but most of it is still incredibly funny.) there's a lot of biting and cynical humor, but it's mixed with a lot of sincerely emotional moments. the final scene is one of the sweetest moments in a Christmas movie I've seen in ages. there are also some terrifying special effects if that's your jam, and a terrific score by Danny Elfman
dialectics
Fellas, is it counter revolutionary to eat.
This is a reminder that any insane extreme position can be couched in progressive sounding language to try and persuade you of its validity, even positions that are totally contrary
