Beast stuck :(

Unlike Demons who explode into existence and then vanish shortly after, and Spirits who don't have the staying power to hold themselves on another plane for long, if you summon a Darkbeast there's a good chance they just.... won't be bothered to go home again. This is kind of a problem because they embody lethargy and stillness and various similar aspects, so you end up with a whole area of the environment fading and dying to ennui because there's an unmotivated Darkbeast parked there for the next few months or years or centuries

I want to give human recluse state infraflux!Silas a fucked up tattoo Mad Max Fury Road style with like, a bunch of weird absolutely invasive genetic and health information on it because that seems like something they would do, especially if he's proven to be a problem re: lying about himself for no reason but also idk where I would put it and how big it would be and idk what kind of tech level they have there anyway I gotta think about it.

I LOVE THIS that's so horribly messed up considering if I recall his home is one of those historical "must maintain the purity of the human bloodline" recluse states.... Also extra fucked up now: that t-shirt you've drawn him in that says "100% bona-fide grass-fed HUMAN" on it AAAA HAHA

Tech level can be anything you want it to be, I would guess any settlement that wanted to would have access to the same kinds of tattooing/scarification/whatever that we have today, but if you want to do something more freaky it could be gene alteration: literally altering his body pigments in the shape of letters (works well since he's white, basically freckle lettering), though that might be frowned upon depending how strict their definition of genetic purity is.

You could for sure also do it with magic (alter the way the skin interacts with light, for example), which would basically be an enchantment, and would therefore add the extra angst and plot hook that it only lasts as long as the person who did it is alive, a person Silas presumably would know personally.

Another source of freaky marking stuff could be some kind of local phenomenon in the area where he's from: March Earth can have localised Weird Shit that's completely unique same way as it has unique critters and people. Could be idk, a cave you go in and whatever words are said appear on your body, or a local microorganism that lives under your skin and likes to form worlds and patterns, the possibilities are endless and probably never seen before!

I think he probably leans into it like "loool yeah 100% human that's me now fuck off!" he just doesn't want anyone to see it. Sticks some tape over it unless he knows you're cool and don't care. I presume only his closer partners he trusts more get to see it. Does add an extra level of spicy with him trying to hide it from people most of the time. Outed as minor celebrity by his stupid nonconsensual body modification.

HAVING NO RULES IS HARD the sky is the limit and this make playing in the sandbox more like worldbuilding, urgh my nemesis. Oiling the rusty gears in my mind. I love the ultra weird later suggestions SO we're going with there's a local area that used to be a large venerable hospital pre-March Earth USAmerica that just stamps your private PHI directly on your body if you stay for long enough.

It's some text and a QR code that if scanned leads to his entire genetic and even current physical makeup and prior injuries and illnesses that changes with him as he ages and he can't get rid of or cover. He hates it but also if he ever gets hurt or sick it's very handy to have a complete record of your health. Comprehensive Medical Chart he carries with him wherever he goooooes. I work in healthcare hiiiii can you tell.

HM ACTUALLY the reason his recluse state got the way that it is is probably because they live close enough to this site and use it to do various weird horrible unethical genetic purity stuff. I'm now unsure if this was a punishment or just culturally accepted to further that. Maybe some sort of coming of age thing that he tried to weasel out of and had to be forcibly put through? I think it would make sense that they would want to bring people there asap to see what they got but I can just be like "no it doesn't work that way" I guess. Arbitrary definition of an adult. The ghost of the pre-apocalypse hospital requires you to be at LEAST 18 years old where you can sign a consent form legally yourself before the Ancient USAmerican Earth Ghost of HIPPA can give you a tattoo I don't know. Actually I do know I like that. I think he was hoping he'd be gone by then but he couldn't manage it and now he's stuck with this reminder of a place he hates.

Particularly ironic also considering for most Infraflux citizens this is pretty much exactly the same stuff that is connected to their personal ID, since individual medical info is very important. Silas though has really gone out of his way to avoid that with not getting citizenship and having a temp Pip instead of a full ID et cetera, but no he has it on his own body ANYWAY and in a way he can't lie about... Very funny if anyone can read between the lines on his history of injury or whatever and is like um hey why have you been injured by security systems at least twice ...? DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT

I love ghost HIPPA hospital so much I can't wait to hear more about it if you ever think of stuff, how delightfully haunting and weird.... especially the QR code?? like that implies it's also tapping itself into the internet, creating weird data hosting sites...

Mikey and Jonesy were pretty short-lived characters based on a dream, I don't think I'll ever go back to them but their dynamic was interesting. Also there's a nice Ka D'Argo from Farscape :D

The parasite sorcerer warlord King Niet and the leader of the sorcery division General Gauliére, being evil and plotting and stuff

Callendar the medium and Greaves the Shopkeeper(tm). Greaves has fairly weak magical ability in a practical sense so sometimes his more magical friends have to come and appraise stuff for him. I've never done anything with these characters but I still always kinda go back to thinking about them

Nyr having a Moment with the main antagonist of one of the eighth Doctor Big Finish audio stories I had just listened to at the time. I can't remember which one it was (looking on the wiki I THINK it was Faith Stealer?), but the cult-y energy deity thing was kinda similar to Nyr and what he is (a Mara) so it was fun to mash them together lol

I didn't do Art Fight this year because I wasn't feeling up to it, but instead I made a d20 table of my own OCs and another with a bunch of optional themes to try to encourage myself to draw: an art fight where I'm fighting myself, if you will. These are the only ones I managed to get finished in July. I absolutely can't stand either of them lol but it is what it is, at least I drew something :')

Rolls were "Garun - Circles" and "Klugg - Delight"
