Happy Disability Pride Month!
hi fellow disabled people . this shit sucks huh
babygirl I'm bothered by noises you wouldn't even hear
wrote this about sensory issues but people relating because of hallucinations or tinnitus or anything else I am shaking your hand in solidarity if you are comfortable with that
We are a small stim toy business run by autistics! Many places that sell stim toys are focused on the needs and experiences of parents of young autistic children. Here at FlappyHappy, autistic needs and voices are centred over caregivers.
We offer free worldwide shipping on orders of $70 CAD or more!
As a small business, it means the absolute world to us if you help us get the word out by sharing this, or even tagging us on or other social media.

FlappyHappy turns 2 on Dec 14th!
We are doing weekly discounts on different products each week to celebrate that!
This week that discount applies to spinner rings (until Nov 27th), so check them out! This even includes our stim ring bundles!
If you’re in the states or Canada, you can still order in time for Christmas gifts! (If you want to send it directly to someone and want to include a note, reach out after placing your order through our contact us page and let us know!)
I think some people don't realize you don't have to fully commit to aids and adaptions to use them. I'm a screen reader user but sometimes I crank up the font size to 400% and scroll through tumblr visually instead. I'm a white cane user but sometimes I fold it up and go with a sighted guide instead. I do a lot of things in the dark by touch but sometimes I turn on a flashlight and grab my magnifying glass instead. And very often , I use visual and nonvisual coping skills at the same time! You don't need to completely give up one way of functioning to do the other.
Use the things that help you but let yourself go without them if you want. Do what makes your life easiest and filled with the least worry. Accessibility shouldn't be stressful !
(This applies to all disabilities of course )
You are not an inconvenience for needing extra support. The problem is not you. It is this world having been designed for neurotypicals and able-bodied people that's the issue.
To any disabled person undergoing tests to find What's Wrong: I hope your results come back the way you hope and that you receive the help you need. I hope you are not denied care, I hope you are taken seriously even after this, and I hope that you will be taken care of compassionately
Here comes winter and snow and ice.
Shout out to my fellow mobility aid users, whether you end up housebound or like me are forced to go out without them, I see you and I wish you an easy winter that passes quickly.
Never feel embarrassed if your mobility aid makes noise when you move and travel. You need it. You're allowed to make noise and take up space. Everyone else can deal.

will never forget when i worked in a fast food joint. some customer wrote like “86 cherries” on their mobile order, as like a pretentious way of say no cherries, but the store was run by a bunch of high schoolers who are working their first job so they collectively went “why the fuck does this guy want 86 fucking cherries” and like piled them onto his milkshake
so when i made this i didn’t expect ANY notes so i feel like an asshole now for not explaining. so incase you check the notes, 86 in restaurant terms means “unavailable or out of stock” but has kinda morphed into “omit” or “leave out”. but none of us had worked in a restaurant before, also why would you not just say “no cherries” it’s the same amount of characters to type
Man ordering food: I work in the restaurant business ;)
Children working at restaurant: this guy must really like cherries. Got something in your eye there sir
there's a lot of guesses in the notes. no it's not bc itt rhymes with nix. 86 comes from prohibition and it's that they're about to get raided. why 86? It started in a specific place that had a back exit either on 86 in NYC or was the address 86. So "86" was a quick way to say "get all illicit stuff out the back on 86" and has evolved to mean get rid of, cancel, omit, etc. Very common in the restaurant buisness
vss culture is not quite being able to tell if there's a bug flying around the room or if it's just your eyes
VSS culture is
VSS culture is not being sure if it's raining lightly outside or not because that's what your VSS can look like sometimes.
So you have to physically go outside to see if it's really raining or you're just tripping.

my disability isn't a superpower but my ability to tolerate ableism sure as hell is
breaking news: local disabled person shocked when their disability turns out to be disabling
Want deaf and HoH people to know you’re amazing and I hope you have great days surrounded by good people doing something you enjoy <3
Sometimes you’re gonna have access needs that are incompatible with another disabled person’s and that’s valid.
Neither of you are inherently ableist for not being able to accommodate each other’s needs.
