I mean… I was diagnosed with depression…
I haven’t been diagnosed with depression but I did go to therapy when I was in high school. I feel like I might need it again, I work and I went to school but I just don’t want to be around people. I will continue my education online and I will keep working but I wish I had more energy. I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my engery levels are really low and I don’t have much time to be with my friends. I wish my mom understood better, she doesn’t and before I was officially diagnosed, she would tell me to stop whining. When I was in high school, she thought my depression was me being possessed and not actually depression even though she was depressed at some point in her life. When she realized before, sending me to therapy, she would tell me I had nothing to be depressed about. My depression isn’t being sad all the time, its about having no energy to do what I love and while half of that is also the fibromyalgia, I sometimes don’t feel like eating or sleeping. Sometimes I wonder what life would be like if I was in a mental institution or if I didn’t have to go to college and have a job which requires me to be around people. I love working with children but some days, I just don’t want to do anything. I used to write when I was deep in depression but now I don’t even want to write. I read fanfiction and I listen to music but sometimes I wish there was nothing I had to do, work, school, having a plan for the future. It’s too stressful.
i feel weird cause all i post on my instagram are selfies but i think that may be cause i hate my body so much… i haven’t been diagnosed with depression but the intense periods of sadness and anxiety i experiment for even months on end can’t be normal…
I got diagnosed with major depressive disorder almost a year ago in that time I’ve lost and gained more Weight than I ever have, self care is up and down and I deleted majority of my pictures of myself off my social media but I’ve been on anti depressants since my diagnosis and it definitely helps and when I’m more financially stable I’ll be going to therapy consistently but symptoms still linger it’s a very odd feeling you never just snap out of it and it’s not always sadness it kinda feels like your in limbo all the time it’s like that episode of spongebob when squidward finally moved away. I’m doing a lot better now and things like meds and meditating directly influenced that

i was diagnosed with clinical depression almost five years ago and as much as it seems like it sometimes goes away, it still comes back just as fucking hard. i get stuck in my head listening to the imaginary voice telling me i’m worthless and don’t have the energy to get out of bed and not scroll through my phone constantly. i hate that i get defensive and angry so quickly and can’t express myself the ways i want to because i’m too insecure and self conscious. my mom said it was fake, that my sister and i are just feeling these feelings for attention. this shit sucks man.

Okay. I’m Canadian so I know a shit ton about staying warm if you’re new to the cold there here are some tips!(add more if you know more!)
1. Wear grippy shoes, nothing is worse than snowmelt freezing on your skin.
2.Do not wear jeans as your outter layer. wet denim is the most body heat siphoning mother fucker known to man or god
3. Have a warm drink with you. It will help. Even just some hot soup broth or boiled water will help keep you warm.
4. Wear a moisture wicking layer close to your skin so you don’t get cold from your own sweat. You will sweat. That is fine and expected.
5. If you start feeling too warm even though you were cold and like you have to take your clothes of DO NOT. Call 911. You are suffering from hypothermia.
6. Bring a blanket and a heat source that needs no electricity with you in your vehicle. You do not want to be stranded with no heat in the case that something happens.
7. If you are struggling on ice as you’re walking, stop. Get your balance and penguin shuffle to a less slippery patch of ground. There’s usually less ice on one side of the walk and it’s better to walk in the snow next to the sidewalk than it is to eat dirt when ya slip
8. STAY THE ABSOLUTE FUCK AWAY FROM FROZEN BODIES OF WATER. Ponds are deceptive as shit even with the “solid blue tried and true” thing. Go around.
9. Keep kids warm. They run at a higher body temperature and will feel the effects of the cold worse than you.
10. Huddling is your best friend. Even if you don’t know the person, remember you’re both cold, especially if they don’t have the right clothing for the weather.
11. Pay attention to windchill. That is how cold it feels. Dress appropriately please. I know it’s tempting to dress for style, but there’s nothing stylish about losing your toes to frostbite
12. Don’t touch metal if you can avoid it. It will sap your heat and likely freeze to anything wet. Like tongues. Don’t fucking lick a pole.
13. If someone licks something metal, pour warm water over their tongue to get them free. If they yank, they will bleed. A lot.
14. Keep your ears, noes, fingers, and toes warm. You’re extremities will get cold first and are the most likely parts of your body to get frostbite.
15. If you see someone who may not have a place to be in the cold, offer to help them find a local shelter or library. The elements, especially the cold, are some of the largest threats to those who cannot avoid them.
16. If you find yourself stuck outside for a long time, sleep during the day when it is warmest, and avoid sleeping on the ground. Stay awake as much as you can at night so you have a better chance of staying warm.
Also, look out for your local animals. Cats will sleep on car wheels where you can’t see them - it’s elevated, rubber is warmer than the ground, and it’s a little hideyhole where they feel safe. Check your wheel wells and under your car before you go driving off, you might save a tiny life.
You can also, if you’re so inclined, make a little winter shelter for cats and small animals fairly easily and cheaply.

I saw the penguin parade. It was a very slow parade, because the pingüinos take their sweet time and aren’t very fast walkers to begin with.

I feel like the world needs to know the context of the edinburgh zoo penguin parade, becausr I’ve been going there my entire life and I only found out about this the other year.
So a while back (I can’t remember exactly when but I think it was some time around the 40s/50s), a bunch of penguins escaped. A keeper left the gate open so a bunch of penguins just… followed them. And the people loved it. Look at these adorable birds outside their cage just following that guy around! So they get all the penguins back inside and realise that none of them really ran off, they just followed the keeper and went back inside and crowd thought it was amazing, so why not make it a regular thing? Get enough people there that if one of them goes to make a run for it (which at least one has in the past), they can’t get past the people, and let the ones who want outside have a little wander. So every day, they get a crowd, they open the gate, and whatever penguins want to get out can go, waddle about, squawk at people, and then hop back inside.
Also, one of those penguins is Brigadier Sir Nils Olaf III, Colonel-in-cheif of the Norwegian King’s Guard. This isn’t really related to the parade at all, I just love the fact that there’s a penguin in the Norwegian army
