Woman who hasn't been held in a decade: oh I'm pretty low maintenance, yeah honestly I think I'd find that overwhelming or something, can I just hold your hand instead? If that's okay of course?
Woman who feels ill at the notion of taking up space: yeah I can stand. Yeah honestly it's no biggie I like standing. Do you mind if I lean here? It's okay to say no.
Woman who would rather die than be considered selfish: I'm really sorry to ask I'm probably just being annoying but could I ask for another pillow? Yeah there isn't one in the room. Yeah no worries I can just bunch up some towels if needed.
Woman who's most outlandish and fantastical fantasies are a coffee date and seeing a movie with someone: oh I don't get out much. Yeah I don't really like being around people. I'm pretty much an introvert. Or something like that yeah.
Woman who would break down screaming and crying if someone showed even a hint of affection in person, who would fall apart at the seams if you held her still and asked her if she was okay, woman who if allowed too would wrap herself around you and sob and weep until she became severely dehydrated: oh yeah sorry I spaced out for a second there. Yeah I'm doing alright.
[ID: A cartoonish drawing of a small cat standing on a hand in M S Paint. There is text to the left of the cat that reads, “You’ll let baby bite and destroy and kick and kill hand, won’t you? Oh, won’t you let?”. End ID]
Funny growing up in the late 2000s and seeing constant "don't text and drive" warnings, PSAs telling us to put our phones down behind the wheel, wait until you're home to send that text, a phone-distracted driver is a deadly driver etc etc
Only for modern car manufacturers to be like "we made the car a phone :) now you have to text and drive to change the radio station :)"

The hollow, echoing sound of the wind whistling through the caves
The Seaside Cemetery 🪦
Rows of crumbling tombstones covered in moss and lichen

We need more female characters who channel exhausted single father who is just doing his best. Do you understand what I mean.
She's kind of a loser in a charming, but also in a pathetic way. Wears the same jacket she's owned for 10 years. Really good at some random uncool hobby like darts or scrabble. Terrible at meal prep. Reheats her coffee three times before drinking it. Tries to keep up with slang, but never gets it quite right. Little kids love her, teenagers think she is mega cringe. Hasn't had enough sleep in 6 months.

"What's the point in writing this fic?"
Well.
The fandom is dead? You can keep that fandom alive with your fics. And a fandom never really dies, not even when the last person has left. They go dormant, decorated with the fics and fanart of the past, waiting for the next people to come along to create new things.
Everyone has moved on to something else? That's okay, people lose interest in things. And there are always people discovering new interests. Your fics will be a welcome discovery for new fans coming into your fandom. And, sometimes, old fans return and will be delighted to read new things they haven't seen before.
It's a small/tiny/non existant fandom? Then your fics are needed more than ever. Someone needs to write these fics, someone needs to put these blorbos into situations, someone needs to write the fix-it fics and AUs. You have that magic and power. And your fics will be appreciated in such a small space.
No one is here to read/kudos/comment? Yeah, maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow either. But even in big fandoms there are fics that are discovered by new readers years after they've been posted. I know it's hard not to get any response now, but your fics are like gifts in the eyes of readers desperately searching for them, especially when they're thinking this fandom might not even have any fics at all, or any fics like your fics,, and then they discover that they do. Because of you.
What's the point in writing this fic? Because you have stories inside of you and you should tell them. You deserve to let your creativity run wild with your favourite characters and worlds.
One thing that really annoys me is when writers refuse to let their female characters be eccentric. Like, yeah they pass the bechdel test, yeah they drive the plot forward or whatever, but they just don't get the same attention from fans as the male characters because they aren't allowed to be interesting!! They are reasonable, maybe slightly annoyed at other characters' antics at times, maybe somewhat motherly or very solemn and serious or just a completely normal person – let girls be freaks!! Let girls have weird habits and stupid impulsive ideas and let them be a little short-sighted and arrogant and unintentionally funny!!!! Let girls start out as people with genuine character flaws that they can work through and let them have potential to improve and let them be on par with male characters not only in strength but also in wit and in character.
Characters finding themselves crowded with two beds, but they're looking for absurd excuses to share one bed.
02. Enemies to lovers ➳ Lovers to enemies
How a couple goes from starstruck lovers to enemies at each other's throats.
03. Fake dating ➳ Fake break up
Characters fake their breakup in public due to their circumstances, and now they're back to secretly dating while the public thinks they are split up.
04. Their partner getting kidnapped by evildoers ➳ Their partner kidnapping evildoers
Their partner is stressing out the main character by recklessly kidnapping evildoers to teach them a lesson. They are panicking between covering their traces and applauding (and ogling at) their partner for being so badass.
05. Breaking up to protect their partner ➳ Dating to protect their partner
They start dating for protection due to their circumstances and eventually fall in love with each other.
06. Getting paired up for spinning bottle ➳ Not getting paired for spinning bottle
Both of them are trying hard to land their turn on each other, but their luck is awful. (They play all night while everyone else is passed out drunk, leaving only two of them still up).
07. Seven minutes in heaven ➳ Seven minutes in hell
The friend group splits up this lovey-dovey couple. In this opposite game, they are not allowed to see each other for the specified time period (and they are clearly dying to be all over each other again).
08. Intact memories to amnesia ➳ Amnesia to intact memories
The story starts off with a character having amnesia, and readers find out their background as the character regains their memories throughout the story.
09. Parents disapproving their relationship ➳ Parents are playing matchmakers, but they disapprove of each other
Both of their parents play cupid to get them together, but the characters hate each other's guts (and warm up to each other eventually).
10. Comforting their partner from a nightmare ➳ Sharing a funny dream they had with their partner
The character wakes up from the most absurd fever dream. They wake up their partner to tell them this hilarious dream.
