I feel like Iām falling in love and getting my heart broken at the same time. Itās amazing and I hate it.
Really starting to understand the lesbian LDR appeal.
Spiraling bisexual
Hi, so Iām bi. Iāve had two long term bfs, and have been with my current bf for 6 years, and weāve been open/poly for 3 years.
And i get ANXIOUS. But itās about my own feels (not jealousy or anything to do with my partner). Iāve gotten horrible anxiety from reading the Simon Snow characters and yearning for their queer love. Or when I had a messy fall out with a girl I dated for a month. Panic attack. Or from watching a league of their own lol. I used to be ashamed of this story-related anxiety. I still kinda am. But I think itās just me feeling strongly.
And I go through phases on dating (women always, Iām not interested in causally dating men, I really like women). And Iāve had some good chemistry, but havenāt caught feelings (which is nice and tidy and convenient).
But I caught feels on this most recent date. Iām cross country visiting fam on the east coas. Decided to go on a date - assuming a flirty one night stand. UGH. We connected so hard. Felt like the most gay ass lesbian uhual stereotype. Listen I know next to nothing about her. Iām sure there are incompatibilities (she had a flag on her bracelet, and Iām a Cali leftist lol). But we had so much fun. But we fucked in her car. But we made out for OVER TWO HOURS straight afterwards, so sweet and loving and intimate. But she brushed my hair out of my face. But she layed her head on my chest twice. But I called her baby. But I had to drag myself out of her car at 3am.
I could try and see her again before I go home to the west coast. But Iām full of anxiety. Iāve never caught feels so fast. Iāve never actually had feelings for another person in these 3 years of being open/poly, always just causal fun. Itās a lot to catch feels. Scares me that I canāt handle it, that I can only do surface level poly. Scares me that Iāll want the new relationship more than my current. These fears donāt scare me as much as they used to, I think theyāre mostly fears, and I know I can face them. (I still would love to fall in love with a woman. And I know that would be so hard and painful and messy and most likely end in heartbreak).
But this situation isnāt about if I fall in love with a woman and have that leveled up poly relationship lol even tho it may stir fears). This is about the anxiety.
But man itās hard to be so anxious. Itās all so muddled, anxiety. Canāt find the source. Iāve learned over the years that trying to find the source isnāt helpful. Iām an anxious person. My body responds to intense emotions and unknowns with anxiety. Doesnāt mean itās bad. Does make it hard to make decisions and know what I truly feel.
I know I want to see her. Iām gonna fucking miss her. I donāt know if seeing her is worth the anxiety. I donāt even know if sheās free.
Iām scared if I see her Iāll be too in my head. I couldnāt eat yesterday, I was so anxious (I also had a hickey and surrounded by family that doesnāt know Iām bi and poly so that was anxiety on its own lol).
My bf is the most supportive person. I can tell him all my fears. He is so loving through all this. What I donāt have is someone who gets it. When I went thru my gay book reading related anxiety a couple years ago (ik, lol), it helped to learn about book hangovers. To connect with more bi friends who understand my bi experience.
I donāt have these poly friends. These friends who have really dated a woman (and more so while with a man). I read about lesbian limerence, and why lesbians uhual. That gave me more solidarity. Canāt find anything on being a queer woman catching feels for a girl for the first times and having immense anxiety ( a little niche I guess;) ). All poly anxiety is around being jealous of your partner or just not knowing if the new person likes you back.
My best guess about my current anxiety - partly the hickey, and lying to my fam about where I was going and why. But mostly our date was so intense, so good. I felt SO heart connected - making out for 2 hours, in a pure way! fucked me up lol. Made even more sweet by the bittersweet of knowing this will never be? I think it gave me fucking whiplash to like someone so hard. Scared the shit out of me. The NEWNESS of it all. A foreign feeling in my body. That is anxiety inducing for sure. Catching feels knowing those feels will get crushed (a mini heart break), bc this canāt be.
Not knowing what to do with the anxiety. Anxiety feels bad, but she feels good. Thinking about her gives me anxiety. An annoying circle. I feel good about it and then my stomach drops. Is this just the mess of me catching feelings? I think it is. So is it worth seeing her again? I already decided no, but if the opportunity came up, I think I would.
I think I have a good amount of perspective. I think I recognize this as my body responding to this huge feeling and new experience. And I know that I wish I didnāt feel anxious about it, and thatās okay to wish that, but I just do. The anxiety will pass. These whole ālimerenceā and experience will get sanded down and Iāll have space from it and it wonāt feel so stressful.
But what about the now?
God damn. She is so beautiful, I wanted to say āI love youā while making out (BUT I KNOW THAT WAS JUST THOSE GOOD HORMONES TALKING). And I barely even know her. I know she can bowl a near perfect game and is a phenomenal kisser.
What. The. Fuckkkkkkk.

God damn
I am just way too horny for women rn for my own good.
2am thoughts after seeing a woxer (womenās boxers) add come up on my TikTok fyp.
I go thru phases of libido/sex drive and what Iām most turned on by and as a bi woman sometimes Iām only horny for women and like thatās cool and all but itās also less cool and more complicated/confusing when I have a boyfriend.

Watching Home Alone is so funny itās like
Kevinās mom: *hyperventilating into a paper bag* I canāt believe I left my son home alone, he has to be so terrified, my poor baby boy all alone I need to go get him-
Kevin: *actively planning to commit war crimes*
There are, at every turn, adults trying to help Kevin. He is not trapped in that house, he goes shopping like three times. He convinces the pizza delivery guy that thereās an old guy there trying to murder him. Kevin knows exactly what the fuck heās doing and what he is doing is psychological warfare
Petition to make Home Alone a PG-13 movie at LEAST so the Wet Bandits can call Kevin a little shit on-screen
Actually no. Rated R. I want to watch Kevin kill a man
It started out as a random burglary but the SECOND Kevin shot that dude in the dick it became personal
I just realized that like. Until the end of the movie Kevin never figured out his family straight up forgot him at home. He truly thought he had fucking magicked them away with his wish that night and that he had magic powers. No wonder the kid was so full of hubris with those robbers he had the power of God and Santa on his side
Okay movieās over. I have unironically and genuinely come to the conclusion that Kevin is a child prodigy and will be possibly the most intelligent person on the planet once heās full grown. Not only is he able to outsmart the Wet Bandits (great name), he outmaneuvers the police, shoplifts at least once, and rigs up multiple contraptions including a fake house party, a get-chickened fan+feather combo, and a homemade door-activated flamethrower. He does this all while convincing everybody that heās just a tiny helpless kid.
In fact, at the beginning of the movie, Kevin has his entire extended family convinced heās so helpless he canāt even pack a suitcase. I bet him attacking Bud and getting sent to his room early was a ploy to keep from having to share the bed with his bed-wetting cousin. At the end of the movie, one of his cousins says something like āKevin went shopping? He canāt even tie his shoelaces!ā This kid is playing his entire family like puppets and they have no idea
He had the power of god and Santa on his side šš

šWilhelm's Deskš
This desk has supported Wilhelm when he was having a breakdown. It supported Wilhelm when he was being dragged away. And it supported Wilhelm when he needed to pin down Simon so that he can eat his face. Top tier quality desk, I tell you. They need to let us know the brand. Who am I kidding, it's probably IKEA!

dishwashing affirmations
the dishes are more scared of you than you are scared of them.
if you put on a little song you can have a dish washing party.
washing dishes is a great way to make new friends (e.g. frying pans, cups, etc.).
despite any misinformation you may see online, a fork has never bitten anyone. they are gentle, even-tempered creatures that often just want to nap.
Last night, after a cheerful party, I drunkenly cried and cried and cried. I sat on the floor of my shower and sobbed.
At the party, I saw some old and new friends, who reminded me what it feels like to be understood in my queer experience. People that I can just say something about being bi (or poly probably), and itās just normal - no surprise, no questions, just understanding my experience. I felt so whole. Earlier that evening, i causally mentioned to a friend in a story that āme and [boyfriends name] are open. She circled back to it like āwait what I didnāt know that????ā. All surprise and no āgood for you doing what is best for you!ā This same friend, who Iāve knows for 10+ years, but doesnāt know me super deep, did a double take a year ago when I slipped in in a convo āone time on a date with a girlā. She didnāt ask any questions, but I could see she was so thrown off that I said I dated a woman. Itās nothing against her or how she reacted - I get it, itās new info, and it can be surprising. And maybe she thought I would have ācome outā to her.
So after the party, I was talking with my boyfriend about it all. (He was great and understanding and validating). But damn I started to get so sad. I had these stark experiences of feeling so seen by my queer friends, and my straight friend being so surprised by WHO I AM.
It made me feel lonely. It made me feel not queer. It made me sob over my (and many others) bisexual experience. I desperately want to be seen and accepted as who I fully am. I want to date a woman, be in love with a woman. I want to be seen as a woman who loves women. I want ppl to stop assuming Iām straight bc Iāve had 2 long term boyfriends. I want the world to understand and REMIND ME that I AM queer even though Iāve never romantically loved a woman. I want to live in a world where I donāt have to come out or have ppl assume Iām straight.
Iāve never formally come out. I just say whatever I want to say and ppl can interpret it. Iāll say to any friend āthat womanās so hotā or mention my woman celeb crush or mention I dated/slept with a woman. Pisses me off that it surprises people. I want them to go āthat makes sense. I see you in your queerness, and it is youā, or I want ppl to just not assume anyoneās straight. (Iām guilty of that).
I know a bigger part than Iād like to admit of why I havenāt formally come out is biphobia/erasure, internal and external. I donāt want to have to deal with ppl not getting it bc Iāve only been in relationships with men. I donāt want the confused questions. I donāt want to have to explain that the times Iāve dated women have been while Iāve been with my boyfriend, and have to explain poly too. I donāt want to deal with peoples reactions.
But damn, I want to be seen.
I also hold so much guilt - I KNOW Iām queer and I can be loud and proud and claim it (even tho I have to remind myself a lot), but it still feels wrong to ācome outā and be super open when Iāve never been in a relationship with a woman. I feel like a fraud all the time (I try and challenge it). I donāt want to take the space from people in gay relationships. Thatās the bi erasure, I feel like I canāt claim my space in it. But I try. I do, in my ways.
I think right now my approach is to just be me and say and share all gay things I want, and those who get it, get it. It feels really good to been seen as queer by other queer ppl, who are usually the ppl who pick up my cues. But that means most ppl just skate past it and see me as a loud ally. I want to be seen by them too tho.
And I donāt want it to be a surprise. And i want them to say something nice to me after I divulge!
I know I slipped in that Iām gay and poly to my friend, but I think it really hurt my feelings that it wasnāt met with warmth. I know sheās just trying to play it cool bc I slipped it in and she didnāt know if I wanted to talk about it maybe. But I just came out to you. It obviously is not something I shout about. I wanted more tenderness.
So I cried and cried and cried. I hadnāt done that in a while. I remember last time I cried like that over sexuality was when I dated my ex bf of 4 years, and I so desperately wanted to explore my bisexuality. I didnāt know if I was gay at that time. And I felt like Iād never get to āfind outā and explore (ik u donāt need to explore to know, but I wanted to). And eventually we broke up and I slept with my best friend, and grew to really know I was bi. And now with my current bf of 5 years, I know who I am. We are open, I have very causally dated women. I even could fall in love with a woman, even tho I donāt think I will (while being poly). I canāt imagine being fully out as poly, thatās so much bullshit to deal with. I crave having the experience of being in love and in a relationship with woman (as my primary relationship, not while with my bf). Being out and proud and seen as who I am by the world. I hate that I canāt have that, without breaking up with my boyfriend. I wish I could live both lives. Or I wish I dated a woman in the past and had that experience already. I feel much more sure in myself than with my ex, I can tell that Iām not āsecretly way more into women and actually donāt want to be with a manā and that I do love and want to be with my bf. I just mourn that I canāt have both. That I never got to be in love with a woman. That I donāt get to grow old with one. Itās confusing to feel so sad about this, makes me question if Iām unhappy in my relationship and am just too scared to break up. But thatās not it. Iām just sad I donāt get it all. Even if I were single, there is no guarantee Iād fall in love with a women, itās hard to fall in love, and you donāt fully chose. When I was single last time I ended up falling in love with a man again (granted I was not looking to date women at that time), and lots of bi women I know date more men. I know I can love men and women. I know I want to be with my bf, I know itās not a ādeal breakerā that Iāve never loved a woman, and itās not something that I have to experience. Itās just life. You miss out on things when you choose one thing.
But I just desperately want to be seen and experience all that I am. But thatās not the world we live in, and thatās not realistic.
What I do have control over - finding more queer community and investing in friendships. Exploring romance with women within my open relationship. Choosing to share more of who I am with the world.
And sigh, even rereading this I get a knee jerk reaction of feeling silly, silly that this matters so much to me. Silly that it upsets me that I am not seen as queer when Iām getting all the privileges of being straight passing. Guilty that i want to be more oppressed?? Silly that reading queer books and watching shows wreck me so much bc I care so much. I know thatās all judgement and I should let myself feel what I feel without shame. But still. Itās hard.
Prince Wilhelm's foolproof plan to win Simon back [1/?]
Dazzle him with a fun fact about yourself, I canāt lmao
The way that Feliceās curvy body type is treated on Young Royals makes me want to cry. Sheās beautiful and desirable and thatās how sheās treated. The scene where sheās trying to fit into her momās dress and itās too small and her friends immediately go āoh, itās the dress thatās wrong, hereās a better oneā was incredible. The way that they tied insecurities about her weight as part of her insecurities about living up to her motherās expectations was so masterfully done. It was a really excellent way of addressing that she had insecurities without reinforcing those insecurities for any viewer who might share her body type.
