My second completed lace bookmark! I am currently learning bobbin lace. I had to use embroidery floss cause I didn’t have the correct thread on hand.

No pattern for this specifically - I was pretty much making it up as i went.

I was inspired by the idea of those granny square hexagon cardigans. I used a tablecloth pattern with two extra repeats to create the hexes, ending before the edging, and then knitted on the edges and insertions to create the shape. The edgings are from the Rose Lace Knitting Book. (#4 Cluny Lace, #20 Cyclamen Insertion, #28 Italian Lace, and #30 Lace for Collarband)

I have a lot of thoughts about how i would do it differently if i make another, but i'm in no rush. This one was about three months of work.

early september

first real exposure to lace was stumbling upon a demonstration at a museum in early September. a very nice demonstrator taught me cloth stitch and I thought about it for like two weeks straight

I have been doing some drawings this month. But I liked the idea of doing a humanized Nightmare Moon before I even realized that was a second prompt, so I officially combined them.

The rendering took many attempts to not look like trash.
