I love this exchange in the Twisted Thrills vs. Classic Chills event because it shows Leona and Malleus relating to each other in a way others can't:
Leona: …Hey. You ever heard of this “ruler of Halloween” guy? Malleus: No. I have no recollection of anyone by the name of Jack Skellington. The king of Halloween? The master of fright? The Pumpkin King? These titles are all quite new to me.
As princes, a big part of their education would be memorizing the names of nobles in their countries and the names of royals of other countries, as well as at least a bit about each family and territory (with how much a bit is being detrrmined by the noble/royal's level of influence on the princes' homeland).
Even the people who follow info in royals like others would celebrities would have nothing on a prince in terms of knowledge.
So Leona is recognizing how odd it is he's never heard of Jack Skellington, and he consults the only other member of their party who would have a comparable education to him: Malleus.

LISTEN!!!!! hikaru means light. 'hikaru' is yoshiki's hope for his own salvation, textually his light more than the real hikaru. what if
Ironically, I think the Sovieshu time travel side story/au is the best ending for Rashta.
I'd love a world where she escaped, never met Sovieshu, and went on to live a happy and free life, but that was always unlikely. She had no identifying papers. She couldn't read or write, which would give away her status. It would have been hard to find a way to support herself and stay under the radar.
In the time travel au, it leaves off with the idea that after Rashta gives birth, she'll be sent to a separate villa. True, she's heartbroken Sovieshu doesn't love her, but he never truly did. Better for him to be honest.
But she won't need to worry about Lotteshu. Sovieshu is keeping her from Ergi. She won't have much political power, but she'll live a life of comfort and wealth without needing to work for it. Since Glorym won't be declared a princess, she'll be left out of many plots and intrigues.
Sovieshu will probably be keeping an eye on her, but I doubt he'll micromanage her actions the way he would if she were still his mistress or an empress.
While I get why people don't like Penelope, I think it's important to remember she's stuck in a game. The people she manipulates and hurts aren't real to her (until the end).
At the start, she even has speech options that limit what she says in the early parts of the story. She has quest menus pop up that no one else can see. When she uses magic, menus pop up telling her what to do. When she learns something new about a character, she frequently wonders if this was part of the game all along.
Now, this makes her different than characters who are sent back in time or are just always in history because the people these characters interact with are real people (within the fictional realm).
Most people would never steal a car or kill someone in real life, but they would in a video game because the people in video games aren't real.
The closest real world example I can think of to what Penelope is going through would be if AI advanced to a state where you were able to play games where you heard, saw, and felt everything in the game. Then, one day, the game glitched, and you were stuck, and the only way out was to beat the game. You'd do whatever you needed because the characters in the game aren't real, but you are.
I've just noticed this "pattern" thanks to a post from someone I follow. So,I mostly read manhwas and that person does too and we both share a lot of opinions, One of which is Rashta, from the remarried empress having too much hate. Which brings me my main point.
Why is slavery so normal in manhwas? Yes,"normal". Sure,it may not be the author's intention. The author puts slavery as a theme in these stories and rather than address it, it's just a plot point to make the protagonists shine brighter.
In a lot of manhwas, when the heroine needs protection, she'll go to a slave market and purchase an able bodied slave solely for the purpose of protecting her (though she's rich and can hire a skilled bodyguard). Now,that slave, who should be traumatized or even, scarred due to the abuse they suffered will for some reason cling to the protagonist and will eventually become obsessive slaves and then, villains.
I'm not supporting their actions. Some of them do terrible things. But,why are the slaves, not slavery or the protagonist who saw a fellow human and purchased them like a commodity so often villains? Don't forget the slave masters, too who obviously abuse these people.
I know it's supposed to be historically accurate and all but slavery is a real life thing which still happens today. So bad that some people never recover from it.

omg guys it's sebastian's second pride month after being outed by modri
I have to say that how Navier, Heinrey, and Sovieshu's relationship(s) end is so funny.
Like, Sovieshu really divorced his wife, who married someone else and had kids, but those kids occassionally go stay with Sovieshu like he has shared custody.
With just a bit of tweaking, this would be the perfect sitcom.

I think one thing people need to keep in mind when they evaluate Twisted Wonderland characters is that they're kids. There are lots of things they do that would be abusive or psychopathic if an adult did them. But while they are't necessarily right (and some, such as Leona plotting to murder the entire Diasomnia team, are just as horrific as if an adult did them), they also don't reach the same level as bad as adults.
Take Vil trying to remake Epel and control his tastes. In an adult? Abusive. As a kid? Kind of par for the course. How many high school cliques have rules about how the people act or dress? No one is more ruthless or judgy than a teen convinced they are right. Most grow out of that.
Kalim missing Jamil's true feelings and taking him for granted. An adult doing this would be a complete asshole who is weaponizing incompetence. But Kalim? Still an asshole, but one who is that way because he has never known any different. He is still growing and lacks the maturity an adult would be expected to have.
Epel. Loves. Macarons.

Ernesto and Gino are probably the most terrifying villains in Twisted Wonderland.
They're human traffickers who "see the error of their ways." But we know that Playful Land was already well-known before the NRC kids went there. It was called an illusionary theme park, and the NRC students realize that part if this is due to visitors posting fun photos and then having their phones blocked so no one realizes that was where they disappeared at. Which means, yeah, Ernesto and Gino freed the NRC students and other visitors that day... but there were likely other visitors who had already been turned to puppets and sold.
Leona is a bit more jaded and savvy than the others. The others might be like, "Oh, but they changed, so it's okay!"
But I hope Leona immediately reached out to Falena and other world leaders about this trafficking ring.
I'm reading the Playful Land event, and PSA: Do not swap seats while on a Ferris Wheel. Moving or not, there is a high risk of falling and going splat.
Based on this exchange:
Cater: Hey, Acey. Wanna swap seats with me?I'm sure the ocean's gorgeous, but my side's got a great view of Playful Land.
Ace: You're cool with swapping?
Cater: Totally! Gotta be nice to the cute little freshies, y'know?
Ace: Thanks! [ Ace and Cater swaps seats. Ace looks out. ]
Deuce: Hey, do you know if the library has any books by that Et All guy?
Cater: Et... all?
Deuce: Yeah, he's like the best scientist. He's in all our papers in class.
Cater: *taking a minute to scrub his hand along his mouth as he tries to hide a smile*
Cater: Deucy, please NEVER stop being this precious.
Deuce: I don't have time for that, man, I got a report due in the morning!
Jamil loves when Kalim cooks for him, even though most of the stuff Kalim can prepare is relatively simple. Store-bought pasta with jarred sauce. Eggs and toast. Stuff like that. (Kalim did try more complicated recipes, but the more complex a dish, the lower the chance he gets it right, and he wants Jamil to have something that at least tastes good.)
It's not the actual food that matters. It's the fact that Kalim took the time to do it for him. It's then fact Jamil is able to just sit down and eat without spending hours in the kitchen.
