PSA PEOPLE
I just want to say that it is ok for people to personally not agree with the LGBTQ+ community, as long as their not homophobic about it. Theres a diffrence between the two. Its perfectly fine if sombody personally doesnt agree with it, aslong as their respectful about it. I personally am asexual and aromantic, and i have a gay friend and a straight friend. My straight friends religion is what the bible teaches, and because of that she personaly doesnt agree with it. But that doesnt mean she puts us down for it, tells us we’re wrong or is mean about it, THATS homophobic. Instead, shes respectful. Her religion doesnt mean we cant be friends, infact our little group is the closest friends we have. We just respect that she personally doesnt agree with it, and dont talk about that sort of stuff. Thats fine, we just talk about anything that isnt their love lives. She has no problem with us, or us being apart of the LGBTQ+ community, and we dont put her down for her religion. A homophobe is sombody that speaks their opinion about the community ALOT, and uses it to make others feel bad about it. There is a diffrence between a homophobic person and a person that personally and respectfully doesnt agree with it.
I can also disrespectfully disagree while not being homophobic too.
Im not trying to be mean or anything, but the definition of a homophobe is sombody whos disrespectful to, and puts down the lgbtq+ community, so if you are purposely disrespectful or discriminating to the lgbtq+ community, then that is by definition being homophobic. This post is specifically about being RESPECTFUL, please dont twist the words
